Report: had a rather poor day. I have gotten so used to hitting a lot of jig fish that i had a tough time adjusting.. still hit fish on steep banks (rocky) next to deep drop offs on inside bends near current. using anything in a craw pattern. they just aren't the quality of fish that I am lookin for and I could use some help in learning new techniques to hook into bigger fish at this time of the year.. although the first fish came from a frog thrown in the open pockets. but it still didn't seem like the frog bite was really on?

Tips: I could use some thanks!

Report: Killer weekend in Dicovery Bay. Little Brother & I got a real late 6:30 a.m. start. Slow day in all with two 5 pounders and a bunch of small guys. The bite was on but the big ones were laying low. The new Blue clacker jig did the trick as well as a black & Red buzz bait. Remember to check you tides before heading out. This was a good trip due to the fact that the traffic was minimal.

Report: Fished several areas but really couldn't find any big fish or consistent pattern. Had a spinnerbait and crankbait bite in the early morning and put 8 fish in the boat, all around 2 pounds, in first 2 hours (6-8 A.M.) One blow up on a frog. Bite shut down for us and not another fish until about 1 P.M. when partner caught a 5+ on a Brush Hog under docks. Caught a few more small fish on Senko's and crankbait and called it a day around 2:30.
    City: Concord

Tips: No pattern for us today and no real tips to offer.
Big fish came on June Bug/Red Flake Brush Hog.

Report: Took my 14 yr old son out for some fishing at 6 am down south delta. He started catching fish right away on senkos, I was looking for a top water bite and getting just short strikes. Had the last of the incoming and then the outgoing of a very high tide. Was just a great day, my son got a 4-12 then a 7-2 (his biggest) both on a black/blue senko. Then about an hour later I got an 8-5 on a tube bait. Fish were tight to cover on the outgoing. Just a great day on the water off by 11:30 w/ best 5 going 26.5!!!

Report: Fished shollow weed beds with chadderbait at the high tide. as tide fell fished senko's in green pumpkin/red flake. We also fished FPT and had 20.10lbs for 8th place. Most fish caught on chadderbait.

Tips: Don't pass the shallow weed bed yet they are holding some nice fish still

Report: We fished the FPT out of Brannan Island on Saturday. I haven't seen the final posting yet, but there were a lot of boats and when we weighed in, 21 pounds was leading the event. The wind was relentless all day, muddying up the water in a lot of places and making it a little tough to hold the boat on point. We had a tough go of it, landing about 15 bass and scratching out a limit of a little over 12 pounds. My best one came on a black/blue jig flipped under a dock in Piper Slough. The rest were caught scattered all over the place and the fish didn't seem to be bunched up. The majority were caught on weightless senkos and the black/blue senko seemed to be what they were liking, go figure. We just could not get on a pattern until about 2:30, but by that time, we had to wrap it up and get back to the ramp. All I can say is that at least we caught a decent limit, but sometimes you just have a rough day.
    City: Vacaville

Tips: I would offer some tips, but I couldn't figure them out yesterday. There were two things in common with the few decent fish we did land and they were shade and pockets between weed beds. I think everybody kinda knows that already though. We'll get 'em next time. Good luck everybody.

Report: Spent a half day on the water with a paraplegic client catching numerous quality fish in Discovery Bay on poppers and shallow running crankbaits. With time and mobility restraints to consider we decided to focus our effort in Discovery Bay. We had several fish over 5lbs with the biggest being 6-09. The keys to cathching quality fish is to find small schools of fry congregated around dock pilings. We'd line up on one side of the dock and work it with a Rebel POP-R in baby bass color then work it with a shallow running crankbait like a Bomber 4a or a Baby 1 minus. The big fish came from under the docks with a fury so hang on tight. Numerous 2+ lb fish followed our baits all the way back to the boat. My client had his best ever largemouth today.

Please visit my website at www.extremefishingguide.com to view my clients pics and to read about my services.
    City: Discovery Bay

Tips: Look for fry. Work different angles and depths. Chartreuse and Blue is my color of choice for crankbaiting at the present time. Always have a wacky rigged senco tied on and pitch it to the ends of the docks.

Having walked miles of the levies lately I've seen so many small bass (1lb or less)sitting right at the waters edge I encourage everyone to take a child fishing as these bank dwellers are and easy target for the kids.

Report: Launched about 7 a.m. from Ladd's and headed north. Started with a Chug Bug and had so-so results with 6 to 1.5 lbs. and a bunch of misses. Switched to a texas rigged Zoom Dead Ringer in black with red flake and things changed for the better, so I stayed with it for the rest of the day. Finished with 27 for the day - the biggest going 5.4, 5.2, 4.8 - off the water at 12:30 p.m.
    City: Stockton

Tips: All the worm bites came 3 feet or less on the out going tide.

Report: Spent first half of the day in Franks during high tide. Got em on swimbait, jigs, senkos, drop shot but struggled on size, couple 3's were the biggest. Made a move north as the tide got low to a spot I haven't been to this year. Went to punching heavy mats and stuck a decent one, burried way back in the stuff, after five minutes I still couldn't get her out, fired up the big motor and plowed in there,, went 5lbs8oz, lucky she was still on. Tossed the froggy around and got some decent action on fish up to 3 1/2lbs plus a few more swimbait fish. Ran east to another spot to try a catch the same tide. Threw the swimbait along deep grass edges.. heard a slup and saw what I though was about a 4 roll on it,, didn't feel anything for a second and then the rod slowly started to load, and load, and load some more until I saw my bait sideways inside a giant mouth and I could tell she was barely skin hooked. Turns out to be my new PB 11 lbs 15oz... sweeeeet. Tried punching again and stuck another 5, this time I forced her out and swung her in the boat. Picked up a few more on swimbait, frog, and punching and called it a day. Best five about 29 1/2 lbs.

Report: Went out with pops, stayed around franks and was blown all over the place. White caps every where, but we were determined to catch a fish since it's been rare to get out thesee days. first cast at 7:00 am and started off blades on a windy bank. didn't get anything, then quiclkly to a chartreuse trap...cast after cast after cast...males killed my lure. unfortunately no big females, but the rate I was catching keepers, made my day. I was on a real good pattern with the trap, where as my dad changed his approach to blades and jigs. at the end of the day, I boated 25+ (all keepers) but nothing huge (2.5 lbs was best), where as my dad only boated 5!! hahaha. but his fish were definitely better in size.
    City: el cerrito

Tips: look for a banks that the wind is blowing into and just rip the baits thru the weeds. most strikes came after hitting clump of weed. goo luc lac!!
