    Water Temp: 76-80

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Don't waste your time out there this (Memorial Day) weekend.

First substantial amount of boat traffic out there this year and I think all the cigarette boats made the bass go deaf ;)

Other than not catching anything, it was a great day on the water.
    City: Lincoln

Tips: We tried cranks, jigs, dart/shakey, topwater, swimbaits all over the lake to come up empty.

Wait till a Wednesday a couple weeks down the road, shouldn't have to contend with much boat traffic.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out late afternoon/evening. Fished around the damn area and around the bridge. picked up quite a few spotted bass in between the spillway and buoys. Also that island that is by the damn produced quite a few fish as well. We were throwing Rat L Traps in crawdad colored patterns. Also were getting fish off of Hula grubs (double tail) on jig heads. I will be out there again this weekend.
    City: Lincoln

Tips: it was very hot (upper 90's) when we went out and we picked a lot of our fish up from shady areas.

Report: Fished last night and this morning (camped at the lake). All my fish were caught on Margarita Mutilator Roboworms. I fished them on shakey heads and darter heads. Both worked equally the same. Most fish came from points and some in the coves in the northern part of the lake around the Rock Creek area. Caught a fair mix of spots and largemouth.
    City: Lincoln

Tips: Bring a lot of MM Robos with you, I ran out because the fish were tearing them apart!

Report: Sunday was a wet and windy day for the Junior Bass Club "NorCal Bass Ratz". Eleven anglers at 1:00 came in with 38 bass @ 43.79 lbs. Most of the bass were caught on darter head, Jigs, spinnerbaits and drop shot. All fish were released back into the lake.
    City: Rocklin

Tips: The weather should be warming up and the bass will move back on the bank.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished from first light until 3pm. Nailed around 20 or so with the biggest going 2 1/4 pounds. Had a smoking shallow bite going until the wind shifted from the south to the north. The north wind just killed everything until the fished repositioned themselves in the afternoon when I got on a good Voodoo and crankbait bite.

Tips: Was hoping for a rip bite in the morning, but only got one. It will get hot as the lake clears. Fish were sickly looking. Just real skinny. Almost like they were spawned out, but I knew they weren't because the fins were in great shape. I think the super low water really hurt the health of the fish.

    Water Temp: 52-53

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished from 9a.m. till 5p.m.. The wind kept us off the main body so we concentrated on the coves. Didn't see any fish schooled up on the graph so we wen't with a "run and gun" approach throwing white and chartreuse chatterbaits from the edge of the shore out to 15'. Ended the day with 6 fish. Big fish about 4lbs. Tough day but should turn on with a warming trend.
    City: Rancho Cordova

Tips: Worked the baits with a lift and drop then pause. The fish hit on the fall. I'm sure the weather shut down the bite.

    Water Temp: 48-51

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Well i was pleasantly surprised to see that the lake has finally come back up to somewhat healthy level again. Its still pretty low but at least you can successfully launch your boat. My two brothers and i went out sat to fish and check the lake out for this spring and had an okay day for January. Youngest brother caught a nice spot on the first cast of the day on a drop shot to the right of the dam in about ten feet of water. About ten yards up the bank i caught another one about 1.5 on a crawdad colored gitzit. I threw dd12 and 22's along the rocks with no luck. tried a spinner baits in 20 feet of water...nada!!! Only seemed to get bit on the plastics... We went up the south arm for two hours without a bite!! Fished from five feet to fifty five feet and didn't even graph a fish? i fish this lake a lot and i have never seen that? I really hope the population of fish is not hurt because of how low the lake got this fall and late summer!!! I was glad to see lots of boats fishing out there.

Tips: Wait for the lake level to hopefully top off and get out there before all the weekend boaters tear the lake up to bad!! March and April is a fun time to fish out here so gear up and look for some spots to fish when the lake finally does fill up!!

    Water Temp: 45-47

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Well for those of you that want to stay at home and wait for spring time, you are missing some of the best fishing in Northern California. Basin Bassmasters did their first Turkey Shoot for the 2009. 15 boats launched on a long but not so bad ramp. Five more feet and the concrete ramp will be used at the North shore side. The bite was tough for most of us but Drop Shot, Rippin did work for others. One five fish limit came in by Joe Everett and John Bounds. Two boats with four fish and a few with three, two and one fish. Most of the bass came in 15-35 ft in the main body and some in the creek channels.
    Good fishin and have fun.
    City: Rocklin

Tips: fish very slow so that the fish have time to see the bait.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: On the water around 1030. Idled out and found fish in 14 ft of water in a small area in the middle of the lake. One fish on small plastics, on the bottom, picking the bait up and letting it fall. Kept fishing toward the south launch and hooked one more but came off. Partner had a few bites but could not get them hooked. Didn't have a chance to talk to the other three boats that were there so not sure how they did until I read Tims report.
    City: Lincoln

Tips: small shaky head or football head with small plastics. I would drag this and pop it off the bottom drifting slowly on 10 lbs line.

    Water Temp: 47

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: You can launch from dirt ramp but with one person you will be getting wet unless you take rubber boots. Fished from about 10 am to 2 pm with on bump on a jig. Talked to two other boats on the water and a couple of shore anglers all had no bites. Deepest water I found was around 58 feet and will over 100 feet down. Saw a ton of fish suspended and should have tried spooning but didn't.

Report: Launched out of the south end of the lake. Water level has come up since last weekend. Started out at the Damn around 7:30 am. Caught 7 or 8 on a drop shot in about 20 feet of water. Made a run up the north arm of the lake and started fishing rock points. Most of the bigger fish that we caught were in the north arm on drop shots and texas rigged Robo worms. Ended the day with 25 fish. Biggest went 3.9 and best 5 went 12.5. All in all a pretty good day at Campfar West.
    City: Citrus Heights

Tips: Most fish were in about 20 feet of water. Fish rocky points and fish them slow! Drop shot worked best for us. Folkstead and MM111 worms. Stay patient and watch your line most bites were very subtle.

    Water Temp: 81-83

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: The Galaxie Marine Junior Bass Masters fished a tournament today. With light wind and good water, most of them used darter head with a worm or a grub. Drop shot and a Texas rig also was one way to catch those dinks. Crankin and a spinner bait in the morning wind. With a three fish limit the winning weight was 3.80 lbs. Not bad for these young Anglers.
If you know of any young anglers ages from 11-18 that want to get into a club and fish once a mounth, just e mail me. we have a great time too.
    City: Rocklin

Tips: fish slow and bring lots of worms, lizards and time.

    Water Temp: 82.5

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: The 12th was supposed to be one of the worst days of the month to fish according the lunar chart in my BASSMASTER mag, but I guess the spot's at CFW didn't read this months issue! I had a rewarding day of fishing. The spots were quite accomodating to most anything I threw, with the exception of top water baits. I did see quite a few fish busting the surface chasing after dragon fly's but they didn't want any of my topwater offers though. Get out there and have fun.
    City: Plumas Lake

Tips: Hold on to your rod/arm, a few of those fish nearly pulled me in the water when they hit, it was bone jarring how aggressive they were. Also I had quite a few fish come out of the water like they were ICBM's, so keep the rod tip down and reel quickly!
