    Water Temp: 78*

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got in a couple of quick days, with much better results than weeks past. Didn't fish long, but had success numbers wise with weightless yamamoto creatures/senkos in pumpkin t-rigged. Mostly cookie-cutter 2 lb'ers. Couldn't find the big un's. Best bite on and in outside weed lines in 10-15 ft. Fished Windflower side of Rattlesnake arm mostly. Nothing on topwater yet, no hits on blades, and pretty much dead-sticked the bait with a little hop or two. Hits came when the bait came free from the weeds and after it dropped and sat for a minute. No slams or taps, just loaded up. When you think you're stuck in the weeds, you've probably got a fish on. Best action in the evening.
    City: Clearlake Park

Tips: Go slooow. Lotsa smelly jelly. Parallel outside weed edges and toss to pockets in submerged weeds.

Report: June 16th through the 23rd

This last week I have been fishing the Red Bud and Rattlesnake arms to the Narrows.

The fishing has improved in the last few days and I'm catching some nice fish from 3 1/2 to 5 1/2 pounds on soft plastics, Jigs and frogs, and my friend Cody got a nice one on a crank bait and he got a 20 pound catfish on a split-shot.

I have been pitching the shallow cover, and fishing the Swimbait in the weeds. There is some action on the offshore rock piles that will improve when the bait starts to move around.

    City: Clear Lake

Tips: Slow down, make accurate casts and fish every piece of cover thoroughly. Best colors for me have been green pumpkin, purple and black. For the Swimbait I have been fishing the Hippo Tackle 5" Shad or Hitch color with a 3/8th oz weighted hook to get it into the thick weeds.

    City: Eastbay Grease

Tips: North end can and will turn into an ocean in the afternoon.
PS If you camp, pick up after yourself.I couldn't believe what I saw left at the campsites from the Memorial weekend crowd...probably Dodger Fans!!!

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Aggresive strikes = spawning behavior? Feeding behavior? Tough to summarize what the bass were doing this last weekend. It's not worth mentioning how many or what I caught fish with, cause the bottom line is the fishing was the worst I've ever seen in the month of June and it doesn't say anything about what will work for folks wanting to fish clear lake in the next week. I promised my cousin she'd catch a bass and I didn't happen. Very bummed about that.
    City: Fort Bragg

Tips: I think Mr. Hemphill had the right idea to fish deeper, it's just tough to do without electronics or without lots of experience on the lake.

    Water Temp: 68-71

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: We arrived Sat. afternoon the 5th and fished through Friday the 11th. We hit it hard everyday from 5-6am to 7-8pm everyday. On the first 4 days we averaged around 20 fish a day with a 5lb 6oz and a 5lb 0oz the largest. On Wednesday a cold front was coming in and we caught 30 for the day mostly on a 1/4oz jig from North Lakeport to Rodman slough. Lots of fish on beds up there but size was 2 1/2lbs to 3 lbs. After it got down to 45 degrees Wed. night the temp dropped 8 degrees and it got tough. We tried up north again and the water was cloudy and we caught a couple. We ended up with 9 for the day and Friday 10 for the day. Overall the fishing was tough for Clear Lake but we have been spoiled over the years. It is still a great fishery.
    City: Winston, Oregon

Tips: Throw a Frog and grind it out for 8-10 fish a day. The frog was catching all the larger ones for us. Also throw a small fineese jig around beds and docks.

Report: Wow! 70 degree water - finally!! I took a father-son team today (Sat), helping dad learn the lake better for upcoming tournaments and helping the son catch his first - and second sight fish! Dad caught 5, son 2, and me, 2. While they were fishing Senkos, jigs, Robo worms and the like, I had a chance to see if any deep bass would bite on a Piranha Swim Jig - white/chartreuse. Sure enough, I brought one up from about 40 feet - a nice 5 to 6 pounder. She jumped and it was over! Dad and I both lost 2 or 3 other deep fish on the Piranha. Hooks was fine - just one of those days!! Most of their bass were caught on a white Blade Runner jig w/ chartreuse Yamamoto grub. Our best bite was from 10 am to noon - including our big bites.
    City: Yuba City

Tips: Still lots of spawning going on, but most seem to be smaller now. Hard to find edges of weeds now - pretty thick everywhere. I also tried to see if the topwater bite might happen a little. Nothing yet for my boat.

The bite for me was very light, and I had to slow way down.
I fished Jigs, worms, swimbaits and some reaction.

Report: Hey when i said the agrressive strike thing i didn't mean that was the spawning behavior i was just saying we got 2 aggressive strikes on the flukes i meant the spawning behavior was when the fish would chase the fluke and just nudge it.Thats what i was saying was the spawning behavior

Report: A friend and I just returned from a 4 day trip at Clearlake last week (June 1 to the 5th). We arrived Tuesday afternoon and we were on the water by 5 pm. The weather was terrible with lots of wind and a 3 foot swell on the south end. We tried a few of my normal spots but it was difficult to fish so we moved into the Clearlake Oaks channel area but couldn

Tips: Be patient and optimistic. Find the right spot with right conditions. It was Soda Bay for us.

    Water Temp: 59.5 to 63

Report: Rented a really nice place from June 1st to June 5th in paradise cove. Must say the bite totaly sucked. We fished half of wednsday, all of thursday, and all of friday. Fished a little off our dock on tuesday but thats it. We ended up catching 13 out of 4 people. Better bite was in late afternoon or early morning. Found fish on beds behind Richmond Bar and Grill and flipped tubes at em for awhile. took 30 min to get one to commit to completely eating the bait. Caught all our fish on Ochos, Senkos, and some hits on the Chatterbait along with one caught on it. A lot of fish are spawning look for gravel banks and private ramps, structural docks, and the deeper spots between moss beds and tules or tulle points. We also threw flukes and couldn't believe how many would just follow them or nudge or nip them. Only one tried eating it.Oh and there was 2 agressive strikes. Definite spawning behavior. All of the fish were 2 to 4 pounds. My friend even caught a nice smallie which was surprising to me i didn't think there were many in Clear Lake.
    City: Oakdale CA

Tips: Senkos and Ochos worked best fished slow around tulle points, ramps, docks, between moss beds and tulles, and structural things like hand rails and steps around docks. Try flukes i think if you work them hard enough u can trigger strikes. Look for gravel banks too for beds

Report: Nice comments about Bob Myskey on the previous post. He is a great guy and a good guide! We did have a few spring days last week but only one this week! I fished a father/son team for 3 1/2 days. Maybe the final team event for them for awhile - son is getting married - congrats!! The weather wasn't kind - we could only fish Thursday in a proper fashion as it was fairly calm and warm until 1 pm. The rest of the time - cold, rain, and dangerous wind Friday. Amazing Friday - we were going to launch at the Oaks at 7 am - no rigs - too dangerous. Went to Red Bud - no rigs - wow!! We put up the sail and sailed to Cache Creek and fished for 4 hrs. No bites. Thursday we did do well. Both guys hooked a lot of bass using the white Blade Runner jig w/#169 (chartreuse w/ chartreuse-white flake) Yamamoto grub. Size was disappointing - fish were from 2 1/4 lbs to 3 1/2 lbs, though they did lost a few bigger ones. Empty beds everywhere - I imagine some from the big tourney last weekend. After my guys landed 7 or 8 and the wind came up, I decided to have them drag Senkos off Anderson Island structure in hopes of finding a bigger post-spawn female. It is nice when an idea pays off! Dad hooked a nice bass that jumped 2 or 3 times and took a long time to land as the wind was blowing the boat at a good clip. I thought the bass was bigger than it was, but still a nice, skinny 4+ lb bass. Our best 5 were only about 15 lbs - but they had a lot of action!
    City: Yuba City

Tips: There is just no way to base a game plan on previous spring fishing trips. This is still winter in late spring! It looks like a lot of successful spawning has taken place as lots of fry can be seen - just hope they make it! Saw a few carp shallow and one crappie on a bed. No bluegill or bait anywhere - at least at the south end. Hope the belly-boaters had longjohns on for their tourney in the keys! Brrrrrrr!!!

Report: What a nice day yesterday for this guide. I took a father and his 9 year old son and a friend of the father. We basically stayed in the Rattlesnake arm for the trip and mostly sight-fished. The 9 year old will be ready for the future-pro circuit at age 10!! What a hoot! After dad caught the first two bass on MMIII Robo worms on a rock flat, we decided to sight-fish since the water was calm. The young man caught the first - and last sight-fish, all on his own! The first was over 3 lbs and the second was over 3 1/2. I'll put his photo up next week. I did nothing for him except to rig his #169 Yamamoto grub. Dad and his friend caught the rest using a Blade Runner white jig with a Yamamoto trailer. The 3 of them caught all the bass - about 10 or 11 for about 16 1/2 - 17 lbs. We watched several bass spawning - fun. Hope the tournament guys don't take too many off the nests this weekend! I had a trip on Thursday too with 3 guys. It was breezy and the bite was much slower - they did catch a few thankfully. What a difference a day can make this time of year!!
    City: Yuba City

Tips: I assume some of the early spawners will be hanging out in and around deep docks and could be caught with Senkos and other slow-falling baits. The frog and topwater bite should start soon. Again - next weeks weather is going to be cool. Will we ever see the '90's??

Report: Went out with Bob Myskey on my first ever guide trip. My fantastic wife gave it to me as a b-day gift. Bite was reported to be slow and very tough. It was, the bites were very subtle and you had to fish SLOW. Senko / Dropshot got our 9 fish. Bob had great stories, taught us a few nice tricks and I recommend him to anyone interested in a guide. He shared tips, techniques, locations, and told great fishing stories. Best 5 probably 15# and BF probably 4#.
Tiger and I had a great time.

Tips: Slow / Dead Stick even..... if you get a chance and can swing it I recommend setting up a trip with Bob (bassin with bob).

Report: Slow gowin'. Fished mid-lake for 5 hours. Strugeled to get bit. 4 fish, 3 confirmed landings . Bites were between Conroy Cut and Clayton slough. The technique was cast and find something to talk about then check to see it there is something on your line (deadsticking).Natural worm colors. High water conditions combined w/ high winds.

Report: Fished the north area of Lakeport and found the bite tough. Light wind most of the day. Caught a couple on drop shot, 2 on a senko in the tules and another on a Yum Frog on the back side of the tules near some trees. My son lost one over 4 lbs on the senko.
    City: Rohnert Park

Tips: Found some bed fish late in the day in the Lagoons. Hooked a couple, but most were not locked on.

Report: Fished thurs and friday with my partner. Decided to try for a swimbait repeat of the FLW, LOL! Tossed an osprey 9" in hitch for 3 hours. 2 hits and coverted on a 4 and 5. Decided to change over to jigs. Seemed to be the ticket. No big numbers but quality. 18.57 best 5 thurs. Friday struggled, every bit of north and main body pre-fishing, 6-8 boats deep in some spots, 3 fish for 10.12. Swimbaits zippo, frogs zippo, jigs yes, 1 senko fish.
    City: san francisco

Tips: Tournament season if full swing at clearlake, tough to find a SECRET spot! Only spotted 1 bed in 2 days managed to pull both fish. Fish the tules 4-8 feet once the sun is up and pick them apart slowly!

Report: Has been windy as hell here. Broke in the new pontoon float tube. Saw many fish under docks in deeper water. Fish were very close to surface. It's supposed to cool down so we'll see how it goes. I do have some bad news. The hydrillia is coming up fast. I fished the Buckingham area and its already hitting the surface. I have seen huge patches so watch out when throwing your crank baits.
    City: K-ville

Tips: I'm looking for float tube fisherman to fish with. I don't want to join any clubs but If any body needs a fishing partner, email me.
