Headed home ater having a beer with the Bald Eagles, then visiting Planet o the Apes...all in all a good day...some engine problems....my buddy Scotchy "slapped the squatter" trolling motor a bit too hard, bent the plastic prop...nice goin......well good luck and tight lines! Water Temp: unknown

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Took the day o and went ishing with my almost-10-year-old son. Up to this point, ishing is about as much as we'd mastered. That catching thing seemed terribly elusive. But today that changed. Drove to Del Valle reservoir, near Livermore, and rented a small motorboat to cruise the lake and try our hand at trolling. Seems a bit strange, cruising along at a walking pace, hoping something gets interested in whatever you're dragging behind. Kinda boring, too. Ater a bit I spotted a small cove where I igured, i I were a ish, I might hang out there (I'd also noticed that some rather experienced-looking anglers were spending time in other inlets). Took about ive minutes and my son was claiming he had a ish on the line. I, o course, was certain that he'd snagged it on a rock, but then there was this thing where the reel was spinning backward against something, and it wasn't because the boat was driting. Dang, my worst nightmare, he'd hooked a real ish! Turned out to be about a 14", maybe 4lb largemouth bass, way bigger than anything I'd expected to see. The not-so-un part was the amount o time it took to remove the hook rom its mouth, long enough that I had to warn him that we might not be able to release it.Eventually I got the ish ree, and my son was one proud kid. Well, no, he now calls himsel an Angler.

    Water Temp: Not Sure

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went ishing today with my riends. I didn't get a single bite o a big bass... or at least one pound, I really need some help, I can catch small ones let and right... with special lures because I dislike having no bites... but I caught and released all the small ones... about 20 o them. Some one give me some tips on how to get a sure bass at least one pound, what kind o lure? how do you use it? and where? That would help alot, I'm new to bass ishing and broke rom boat rentals... how about shore tips? that would help too

Report: Fished Del Valle or the irst time in years. On the water at 6:15AM. Fished the steep side with Senkos or the irst couple o hours and was able to boat 2 nice smallies and 3 decent largemouth. Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Started out at 7:30 am throwing buzzbaits around the rockwalls which was the wrong thing to do. Eventually, I made my way to some weedbeds that were 8 - 12 t deep. Since the water was so clear (+10 eet visibility), I tied on a jerkbait - which was the RIGHT thing to do. The ish were sitting down at the bottom o the weedbeds looking up and waiting or one o the many shad schools to swim by. I caught a nice 2lber on a 3" shad jerkbait. Then I caught a small 6" bass and while skimming him across the surace and making alot o splashing, a large black object ollowed the bait in but turned deep just beore getting to the boat. The trick was to make as much surace disturbance as possible and keep the lure moving ast. Ended up hooking 10 and boating 7 - all rom the weedbeds. O the water at 4:30pm.
    City: San Jose

Tips: Use 2" - 3" jerkbaits in shad color (black and chrome). Possibly using a prop bait would have been good. Water is crystal clear. Make long casts to weedbeds.

    Water Temp: 72.4

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Started ishing at 6:30 AM and caught a 2.5lb on a buzz. Then an hour later all heck broke loose every cast caught a ish smallest going 1lb largest 3lb...Boy was that un... Lasted or about 30 min. Then it slowed down. Stuck a 4lb ater lunch on a buzz. Best ive went or 15+ lbs. Caught alot o ish but also got alot o short strikes. All ish came on a zara spook and a white buzz...
    City: Fremont

Tips: No ish on plastics... All my ish were caught on spooks and buzz baits. Senko's didn't even work.

    Water Temp: 75 - 80

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Came out there around 4pm. All boats were rented out. Fished on shore near a big bed o weeds. Caught two bass( >2lbs) with 4in. senko worm (drop shot) around 8pm. Had a great time. Saw alot o top water eeding but didn't have a boat to reach the spot.
    City: livermore

Tips: Look or top water eeding and try to hit the 3-4 t down. Use deep diving crank bait.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Early morning ished the shore let o the boat launch with a sugoi splash and caught three in the 3-4 lb rang. Late morning took out a loat tube to ish the tules and caught nothing until I switched to a smaller size senko. The 3" pumpkin seed produced 5 bass rom just under 3-6.5 lbs. Lost one drop-shotting in a weed bed. It spun me around so it must have been a pretty good sized ish (I'm not a little guy). First time at Del Valle, deinitely not the last.
    City: san jose

Tips: Threw a bunch o trout colored lures since they recently planted, but the senko is what they hit. I threw them weightless into the tules and let them all on the edges.

    Water Temp: 66

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Well we had a un time at Lake Del Valle on Memorial Day there were alot o ishermen and people picnicing. We ound the trout around the dam area and my Daughter Michelle caught the irst one about 3 lbs on a #9 broken back rapala in shad pattern. We were trolling on the surace with a lot o line out and no weight. In the next hour and a hal she reeled in our more trout up to two lbs each on the same lure trolling the same areas near the dam. She also had one on the trout colored lure but they liked the shad alot better.
    City: Fremont

Tips: Troll slow around the dam or park it and bait ish we saw alot o people catching them that way also.
