Report: Alex, don't give up. Talked to several very good fishermen that have been fishing Don Pedro for a long time and it was a TOUGH bite yesterday. Post front conditions w/ blue skies make for tough fishing conditions at Pedro. At least you got to go fishing.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: very clear water >12ft. wind 5-8 NNW. I fished from 6 am to 10 am. Limited myself to the graveyard area and flemming bay areas. I did so badly I considered dropping my gear off at play it again sports. I tried a known sucessful spinnerbait, a few crankbaits, drop shotted and despite my inexperience I Jigg'd with a 3/4 oz brown craw jig, before I gave up.... Arghhh! When does Play it again sports again close?

    Water Temp: 67

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I fished on Saturday 4pm-9pm and Tuesday 12pm-430pm. Spent a fair amount of that time trolling for kokanee and trout, but by tuesday got a couple hours in bass fishing. I had to try some new lures from bass pro shops, berserk baits, and the baitbarn.....and yes my wife didnt divorce me.

The good news is I did very well on Berserk baits new spinnerbait DP Shad...a new lure that isnt even on the website yet. And I'm in line to get thier new lure "perfect shad". I caught several 1.5 to 2 lb. bass...average was 16" long. On main lake points....and the most savage bites I've had all year. On my first cast I retrieved a bit fast and nearly missed the fish, but I continued the chase right to the water line and busted out of the water to nostril hook itself. Seemed like a topwater bite, it was so explosive.

Disappointments on speedtraps greencraw color and on norman lures red ,and purple shad crankbaits.

spent a shorttime on dropshotting and jigging with a 3/4 oz browncraw berzerkbaits jig. didnt really spend enough time on these presentations or shakey heads, and am still learning...so no suprise that I didnt catch any on these.
    City: Atwater

Tips: Fish alot!....oh by the way....saw 2 boats out of blueoaks, and maybe 6 other out of flemming. And I still had a guy boat to within 30 yards of me and fish my water....come on guys find your own water.

    Water Temp: 74 degrees

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished Don Pedro today w/ a friend of mine. It was really nice to get out on the water again. Fished from 7am to 12pm - stayed around Fleming and Roger's. We caught somewhere around 10 or 12 fish total w/ quite a few missed bites. Most fish were in 20 to 30 feet of water on rocky points. Most fish were small - I think we had 4 tournament keepers - all fish were released. Best fish was around 4+ on a jig in about 15 feet of water.
    City: Atwater

Tips: Tried alot of different things but best bite was on a dropshot w/ light line using 4" shad imitation type soft plastics. Should be getting better over the next few weeks. Only caught 1 on the jig but it was by far the best fish. Jigs will always produce nice fish on these lakes - not as many bites - but better quality fish.

Report: Catching a lot of bass in the 2-3lb class. Getting a few up to 6lbs. Berserk shaky head with a 6" worm. Getting some cranking craw colors, but you need to bounce it off of some type of structure. We caught quite a few smallmouth up to 2lbs.

Tips: Fish shallow to about 25ft and if you are using plastics, use them slow, drag them. One or two fish coming on topwater, and a few coming on crankbaits. www.fishwrangler.net if you need help out there I guide out there as well (209)604-8222.

    Water Temp: 78-80

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of Mocasin, and stayed in the area across from Ferry Memorial Bridge. Caught around 12 fish for the day, with the biggest going almost 3 lbs. Carolina rigged zoom trick worms in watermelon/purple flake and pro blue worked well casting across points. Fish were probably suspended somewhere around 15-30 ft. since they were just grabbing and swimming off with it. Caught some on Yamamoto twin tail grubs in chocolate with black and small gold flake around wood close to the bank up the creek a bit. If you don't mind the lake lice, it is a great fishery even with the lower lake level.
    City: Modesto

Tips: Fish slow!!! Drag a carolina rig using 3/16 weight across points with a current. You don't have to dropshot to catch fish and have a rewarding day on this lake in the middle of summer!

Report: Took two clients out on Saturday,it was cold and windy. We started in the back of Ramos creek throwing shaky head worms, only caught one 3lb. fish. Looked for beds but didn't find any. We moved out of the creek arm some and started fishing shale rock points, this is where we caught the rest of our fish. We caught then on brown worms an a few on sinkos. Most of the fish were right next to the bank on windy points, feeding on shad.We ended up catching 17 bass , with the biggest one being that first fish. Got a trip booked on the Delta on friday, look there for a report. Good fishing to you. www.markmcgowanguideservice.com
