Report: Leroy and I fished the Badge Packers Fall Tournament Oct. 6th, and won with 13.82 pounds. Caught (1) 2 1/2 lb fish on a Huddleston and the rest were caught on 4" and 5" yamamoto twin tail grubs in Watermelon w/ black flake or red flake on 1/4 or 3/8 oz jig heads. All of the fish with exception of the swimbait fish were caught within a foot of the bank from 1200 to 1400 hours. You had to throw your bait right against the rocks and they would grab it as it fell. Big fish of tourney was just over 6 pounds. Congrats to Rodney Parker for his 4.92 lb Super Spook fish caught first thing in the morning. The previous two fishing reports were bogus if you haven't guessed. We were just clown'n Rod. Good luck at the spring tournament.
City: VisaliaTips: 6 lh flourocarbon line and yamamoto grubs rigth next to the bank in the afternoon. They'll hit them on the fall.

Report: Went up to 'ol Pedro again and slayed 'em, Freaks! I watched another Kevin Van Dam video on spinnerbait'n and I applied what I done watched to my time on the water. Again, threw earthtone colored (you know, browns, olive green etc.) spinnerplugs all day near the dam. You gotta count'em down 1,2,3 and so on 'til ya hit "10", then slowly crank that handle. About three turns and "BAM" just like Emeril live, 16" spotted bass like they's was goin' out of style. Caught 14 for a total of about 21 pounds today.
City: PixlonTips: Let that bait flutter on a loose line down on a 10 count, then milk it back slowly......good luck........I'm out!!!!

Report: Fished the C&C tourney today with my wife. We maged to stick several fish many small males and some suspended females. Maged to get the full bag of seven fish at 11.73 pounds.
Really had to work for our fish today. We used 6-lb florocarbon line drop shotting small 4-1/2" robo worms off flats, main lake points and secondary points. Alot of the fish were suspended.
What a great tourney to fish, I reccomend this one to all Ranger owners. Everybody wins in the raffle lures, hats, rods, reels etc. and a free tri tip bar-b-q. All for a measly $50.00 bucks entry fee. Paid out to 21st place with top prize $2,100 bucks. See you all next year at the annual C&C tourney at Don Pedro.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished bass tournament this weekend. Started at Mexican Gulch at sun up and hooked an 8 pounder on a jig head with 6 inch green and black flake trailer on third cast. Pulled in a second 2.4 pounder 10 minutes later. After several other boats showed up we moved to Big Arm Creek just past the bouy line and hit a 5 pounder by the trees on a red and black spinner. Pulled in 8 other 1-3 pounders all over the lake mostly on 1/8 th oz jig heads with green or brown 6 inch trailers. Saw mostly males on the beds with females running 15-25 foot deep away from the beds. If we saw them, we caught them. Water was a little rough so had to work on areas that we had seen fish earlier in the week.
City: MercedTips: Hit bottom with jigs and slow twitch back to the boat. Run back up from deeper water (20-40 ft.) to the beds for the big females to follow and bite.

Water Temp: 59
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished our club tourney on Sunday. Very windy on the main lake! Good bite from 0600 - 0730 then small fish until 1430 and the bite was wide-open for me. I tried all the normal baits but found the bite on wacky-rigged watermelon/blk-fleck Senkos. I fished the steep walls up-river toward Moccasin. I threw into the shadows and waited.
City: Valley SpringsTips: Rig your Senko wacky style (they wouldn't touch it while texas-rigged)and let it sit. It was a subtle bite. I only felt pressure when raising my rod tip. Good luck.

Water Temp: 56-58
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Maybe the bite isn't wide open, it just seemed that way when I have been out 3 times in the past couple of weeks with 20-30 fish days in the 2-4lb range, with another individual on the boat. We caught them shallow from woods, middle areas of the lake, down all over the lower end. Jigs or worms, cranks, ripbaits, and spinnerbaits.
Tips: Yo-zuri ripbait in about 8-10ft of water, crank shallow, spinnerbaits first thing before the sun comes up, jigs and worms all day. Hope this helps, need help getting some more fish in the boat call me, maybe I can help (209) 604-8222.

Water Temp: 60
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: FISHED FROM 8AM TO 2PM. I THOUGHT WITH ALL OF THE WARM WEATHER THAT WE HAVE BEEN SEEING, THAT THE LAKE WOULD BE GOING OFF. NOT THE CASE! WE MANAGED ONLY 7 BASS ALL DAY. NO REACTION BITE AT ALL. A FEW BASS IN THE SHALLOWS, BUT NO EVEN CLOSE TO BEING WIDE OPEN. THIS LAKE IS ABOUT 2-3 WEEKS AWAY FROM BEING WIDE OPEN.
City: RiponTips: SOFT PLASTICS, SLOW..SLOW..SLOW. TRY AND KEY ON THE SUNNY POINTS WITH CHUNK ROCK. THAT SEEM TO BE WHERE WE SAW THE MOST ACTION. HANG ON BOYS... THE SPRING BITE IS ALMOST HERE.
