    Water Temp: 68-72

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: On tip from friend, went way up S Fork to past the bridge looking for bigger fish. Not even a single bite after trying reaction baits, swimbaits, and dartheading plastics. Worked my way back down to just above 5mph buoys and saw some big baitballs but only caught dinks around them.

So around noon I ran to riprap bank close to Beals and finished with 3 spots just over 2 lbs each. Dartheading 4" shad colored worms. Bite definitely seems a little tougher than a week ago.

Tips: Drag baits slow on the rocky bottom. Be ready for a softer bite. Best depth 15-20' right now.

Report: fished monday am in south fork with nothing, decided to go way up north fork and target some smallies, ended up catching a few spots on a crankbait off the steep walls
    City: diamond springs

    Tips: none, very tough bite

    Water Temp: 66-71

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Monday morning. Pretty windy early with a south wind. Made the peninsula tough to fish. Water is very high, so the lake looks really different. Never found the pattern. Plastics didn't work from 10-20ft. depth, where I focused. Got one spot on 4" worm up in NY Cove (stained water in there) in 10ft. about 2 lbs., the standare Folsom bass. That was the only bite! Fished steep banks, rocky areas and trees. Nada going on for me. Most excitement was watching the dirt haulers carving out the new spillway. There is a fancy tower on a hydraulic lift that says "Sheriff" on it, and a sheriff's SUV parked there. What is that for? Seems like a waste of money that we don't have these days!

Report: CORRECTION from last report: "NewYork Cove water very stained. Fairly clear except the mudlines caused by the boaters..." Meant to say "Fairly clear in all other areas fished..."

    Tips: none

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Windy and somewhat cold morning..tried the rocks by Beale Pt...one tick, no go on dropshot. Next tried rock/sandy area by new construction outside Dike 8..good signs, no go on topwater, darthead, dropshot, c-rig. Up south fork to various coves. Finally hit 2 on senko way deep in NewYork Cove..against the bank..thought we found a pattern. No go rest of the day. Alot of boaters..NewYork Cove water very stained. Fairly clear except the mudlines caused by the boaters...tried pulling lures through the mud to clear water...no go.
    City: Folsom

Tips: Have none again...I'm hoping someone posts the stuff that works...and where...we think we shoulda gone to north fork.

    Water Temp: 71-73

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Worked lower N Fork today until 1pm. Caught 8 today, biggest was 2 lb LM, the rest were smaller spots. Didn't get any reaction bite (tried crankin', rippin', and swimbaits). No go on jigs either. Dartheading/4" worms and dropshotting worked.

Also caught a nice 16" trout ("dinner") on a DS rig + shad-colored grub. Go figure...

Tips: Throw your baits on and around submerged rockpiles off rocky dropoffs and points, then drag slow. Trees didn't work--today was all about rockpiles.

    Water Temp: 71

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished South Fork coves/trees; 3 on topwater LC Sammy behind a FrontRunner. Only fish for me. Brother picked up on c-rigged morning dawn deep in the cove. Nothing else worked. Tried darter head and dropshot, which worked previous weeks.
    City: Folsom

Tips: Have none other than topwater very early before the skiers and boarders start churnin' up the water. Mine hit as I paused the lure at the trees. I'd welcome any other clues! Deeper??

    Water Temp: 70-74

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: With all the tough bite reports I thought I would add mine: yes, it's been tricky. Went out Wed and Fri afternoons. Worked the N Fork from the Big Turn to the 5 mph buoys catching 5 on Wed, only 2 on Fri. Biggest was a 2 on Wed, all the rest smaller.

No afternoon reaction bite, only caught them near trees on dropshot with 4-5" shad-color worms or darthead with 4" worms. Best depth was 15-25 feet. Deeper structure didn't work for me.

Tips: Maybe if water depth stabilizes it will help the bite. I would keep working trees and deeper when sun is blazing. Watch out for wood; I damaged my prop hitting a big chunk of wood while running in choppy (wakeboard boat wake) water.

    Water Temp: 70

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Well, with the lake only 6 feet from being full, I thought I could get into some fish. I thought with all the trees and nice rocks in the water I could find the fish. Well maybe that was the problem. Maybe with so much structure the fish are all spread out. I do know. I am used to catching 20 + fish at Folsom in the spring when conditions are pretty good. I thought I had perfect conditions Thurs. I would normal say it just had a bad day, but a few weeks ago, I could not get into them either. Today, I was only able to scratch up a limit of spots on a dropshot. Nothing on Darthead etc...I tried trees, rocks, points, secondary points, back of coves too.

On a different note, I have never marked so much bait/fry at Folsom. Most of it looked like fry. They were from 2ft - 20 feet. I don't know what kind of fry it was (bass or carp?) but there were tons. And I mean millions everywhere - I only fished the middle of the lake to 1/2 way up north fork and I found it every stop I made. All the fry I saw was 1" if that.
    City: Elk Grove

Tips: I got none! I won't go back to Folsom this year. I don't know if fishery got hurt with low water the past few years or what. Maybe it is the crazy weather this year....I hope other people have been doing better, but looking at the recent posts, it does not look like it...

    Water Temp: 65-68

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Started the morning off with wind and water temp at 65 degrees. Wake baits and swim baits did not work today although the weather dictated otherwise. Fished North today had one reaction bite it was a spawned out LM on a tube. All other fish came off of their beds. Only had 4 fish today 3 LM and one spot. Total weigh probably near 11lbs. Broke my Dobyns swimbait rod again that makes 3 rods that have broke in the same location during a cast with a wakebait on. I don't think I am going to purchase another dobyns rod. Sorry Gary but they keep breaking!!
    City: EDH

Tips: Hopefully the reaction bite will take off soon...

    Water Temp: 63-65

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Made my first trip to Folsom this year. I can't believe I was wearing a jacket at the end of April! I have usually fished Folsom at least 4 times by now, but as everyone knows the weather this year is not normal. I fished the North Fork. Man there are a lot of nice trees & structure in the water now! Unfortunately for me the bass were not biting or not in the trees today. I fished entire coves and the only fish I got were on the points. 6" Aaron Magic worm on a darthead was the only lure I got fish on. Tried senkos/flukes in the trees and cranks/swimbaits with no luck. I thought reaction baits would be good with the cloud cover, but no such luck. Overall it was slow. Seen a couple of other bass boats and it was slow for them too.
    City: Elk Grove

Tips: Looks like the weather might warm up again next week...

    Water Temp: 62-65

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: The Day after a rainy storm for Basin Bassmasters small club tournament, it turned out ok. The 45 deg. temp didn't stop 11 boats to hit the lake to find that big bass that was left from the Future Pro Tour last weekend. Everyone had a place to go to and see if any bass was around still. Bass are in the trees, banks and in back of coves. I found some on beds in the North Fork, worked them with a 6" Senko. Rip-in only got one, but dragging a darter head with a Oxblood worm in 5-15 ft was the main lure. Split shot on points and trees.
    City: Rocklin

Tips: Try a top water and rip-in first thing in the morning.
