Water Temp: 72
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Late start, heard there was a tourney starting from Granite Bay. Expected to see lots of trailers but not much at Brown's Ravine. Me and big brudda went out to the buoy lane straight out of the ramp. Fished 9-16ft and I had 4 fish to 1-2lbs by 9am and big brudda had 2. All on dropshot...Aaron's Magic 5" on a standout hook rig. Moved around and brudda missed a couple hits...shut down for me. A few boats moved in to our starting point and we watched them catch 3 more....coulda had my limit but who's counting, yeah? Ain't worried 'bout size, just hookups for fun.
City: folsomTips: Fish hit mostly at 14-16ft between buoys and dropoffs. Wacky rig worked for me but used alot of worms. Love the dropshot...hook was 1 ft above the sinker.

Water Temp: 68

Report: come on jim, why dont you give us a couple cues, they cant all be in one place.
City: sacramentoTips: i suck too

Water Temp: 70
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Primarily fished the north fork. Partner caught one dinky fish on a t-rigged senko ... probably shouldnt even count. :-) I pretty much suck and need help. Threw dartheads, rat-l-traps, jerkbaits, senkos in 20 ft of water with no luck. Did see a a couple of boats bring in a fish or two. Fished from 7am - 11am. Nice day regardless.
City: Elk GroveTips: 5 mph folks!

Water Temp: 69
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: A little slow up river (s), boats surrounded me shutting down the bite. Still caught some, no size. Moved to main body to a depression and caught a little over two limits, quit, tired and went home.
City: sacTips: All fish on reverse carolina rig. tossed out and worked back.

Water Temp: 64 (up river)
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: same as last week except only about 75 fish. Fishermen who saw ma probably hit it pretty hard or the cloud cover and no wind had an effect on numbers and larger fish. No large ones caught in area. I park my boat and fan cast the immediate area which has many fish gorging on bait.
City: sacTips: Take a friend or acquaintance to enjoy this kind of fishing.

Water Temp: 69
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Tough day, boated 2 fish to 2lbs on darter head. Tossed the big baits pretty much all day. Nothing doing. Ready for the trout plants to start.
Does anyone follow the law on this lake? 5mph is still in effect right? Watched MANY boats blow past me doing about 60mph.Tips: Keep at it!

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Can we go back to Keith O's report- what bait does HM stand for? I'm not familiar with the initials...it's probably something I'll slap my forehead and say, "oh, I shoulda known" but I don't. So could Keith O or someone tell me what the HM is?? Thanx!
oh, btw, thank you to the guys that supported Jim's report. Or at least his willingness to share his experience.
oh, my report: a week or two after the 5mph went into effect, my brother and i fished the main body just outside of brown's ravine. we worked the hazard buoys with drop-shotting at 10-15-18ft and hooked up fairly decent on spots and largies. brother got a nice 3-4lb smallie but it did a quick-release at the boat.
City: folsomTips: keep sharing tips...thanx! all my drop-shot success was on aaron's magic 5", mostly wacky but some nose rigged. brother used perch and also hooked up on jig/trailers and c-rigs with same plastics.

Report: Went fishing on tues. morning got on the water about 9am after having problems with that stupid ticket box that refused to give my ticket after puting 15 bucks in it and this is not the first time, finally found a park ranger to take care of the problem what was wrong with filling out the old envelopes and dropping the money in the box never had problems with that. well we finally got on the water and caught 5 fish total all on dropshot with a morning dawn robo worm. all in the 1 1/2 lbs range with one going 3 lbs
City: carmichaelTips: give that stpid ticket machine a swift kick before putting money in it ps I think HM stands for home made at least thats my best guess

Report: I'm new to this board and this is my first post. I'd like to respond to Jim's report from 9-13-08 where he claimed catching over a hundred fish. I was one of those four boats (white Triton) he referred to in his post. I don't know how many fish he caught, but I know he caught a lot of fish. I saw it.
I was fishing up by the bouys, a couple hundred yards from his hot spot, when he left. He stopped when passing me and we talked for a couple minutes. He seemed like a nice guy who just had a terrific day on the lake.
I was surprised when I saw the Jim Scarlett's Gay post. Where did that come from? I have seen Jim Scarlett's name on the message board before and it wasn't very complimentary, but, again, I'm the new kid on the block and I don't know what's happening.
What I do know is that Jim's post was probably accurate (with a little leeway for a fisherman's ability to count)and that the Jim Scarlett's Gay person didn't have the balls to sign his name.
Round 1 to Jim.Tips: Be nice.

Water Temp: cooler
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: What the guy said was true as I watched the show from about fifty yards away. After he left about eleven thirty, I moved onto the spot and had a darn good time. You weasels need to respect the man because he can catch um and you evidently can't.
City: LoomisTips: P.S. I don't see why NCBF lets anyone on this site without a verifiable website to bring names out into the open which would prevent "weasels". My input.

Water Temp: 70's
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Top H20=0, Swimbait=0, Crank=0, Plastic=0
HM = One 6-7# Lg Mouth dropped at boat after 5 minute fight. After the shakes went away, I had a few bites after that but no more hook ups.
City: Cameron ParkTips: Did not fish plastics much. I need sharper hooks and heavier line. Think outside the box.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Tough day, hot and four main rods with spool cut lines and lost baits. Managed two three pounders (one blk and one spot). Dart heads and drop shot.I did not take time to respool big fish rods and I left early because depht finders would not work because of low voltage.I didn't recharge them.
Tips: Checks batteries for charge and check lines. Thermocline to shallows are good in a.m.

Report: Had fish active in the early a.m. fishing special areas from days gone by. Did not have swimbaits then. What a differance now, quality was the word of the morning with average fish being various five pounders. Some bigger and some smaller. Using special swimbait of average size.
Tips: Find the current in the main body with no ripple on the surface.

Water Temp: 80-81
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: A few boats fished this 5 mph lake with the wind @ 5-10 mph. Hard to find a top water bite. Did some crankin, spinner in the wind on the points on the North Fork. Found bass chasing the bait but no takers. After the wind died down a drop shot, jig in brown/purple and a darter head with a Pearl or salt/pepper grub (single or double tail). By the time the morning was over we hard 20 plus bites and 10 fish to the boat, bigest was 2.5 lbs

City: rosevilleTips: Look for spots with isolated bolders with deep water on one side and not the other and slow roll blades or cb also.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: The fishing has been on and off this week .Outside temps going up and down have made it more of a chalange than normal.Monday, fished spooks for 10fish best five went 16lbs,Lm had bait cornerd in the backs of small bays.Tuse, the wind came in and spook bite had slowed to only four fish and the rest on blades.Got 11fish best five went 12lbs.Thurs, more wind cool night time temps only got one spook fish 4.3lb and went three hours without a bite so i gave up and got out the spinning rod and dropshoted to a limit of spotted bass out in 28ft, best five only 10lbs
City: rosevilleTips: Ask the person at the gate if any rangers are in the park.Look out for swimmers

Water Temp: 79
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Boy what a tough day!!! I went out with my buddy Shane and I got backseated. Shane brought in fish after fish (decent ones, too) with the biggest going 5lbs. I failed to keep my line in the water- tangled line, breakoffs and trying to find the right worm. As we headed to the launch ramp Shane smelt a distinct odor...the skunk sitting next to him.
City: Elk GroveTips: Don't talk smack to the guy in the front of the boat...he ultimately controls your fishing destiny!!!
