Report: Got on the water at 8 and started fishing at 9. I got my first bite at 10 and lost it, about a 3 pound largemouth. About 1/2 hour later, I caught my first and only fish of the day, a 2 1/2 lb largemouth. I found lots of fish on the graph, but I could not get them to go- tough to run and gun at 5MPH.

Report: Much more difficult fishing without the smoke cover. We caught about 10 for the day. I was not responsible for 6 of those fish. The big fish for the day was about 4lbs (I actually dumped it at the boat, but it was close enough to net and I actually touched it so I am counting it). I broke off two nice fish (time to switch back to 8lb test) and we missed about 10 bites. The fish were nibbling on the end of the worm but not taking the whole darthead. I tried dropshotting for deeper fish and caught one rat. All fish came on dartheads. My favorite worm was outshined by the jerk in the back of the boat using a green pumpkin worm- thanks Dave, you are no longer welcome on my boat.
    City: Elk Grove

Tips: All fish came off rocks in depths from 10-30 feet.

    Water Temp: 81

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: On the water at 6:15- tried topwater with no takers. A couple of bites on a swimbait but they wouldn't eat it. As soon as I picked up the darthead, it was on! I caught about 20 with the best 5 going about 15lbs. Hint- fish very shallow.
    City: Elk Grove

Tips: Windblown rocks on the main body were best. I tried the South Fork and it was not happening for me. Smokey skies were helpful.

    Water Temp: 80

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Worked the North Fork from 9am-3pm. Wind gusts to 15 in AM, 10 in afternoon. Smokey overcast. Best three: a nice 4 lb'er, 3 lb, and a 2.5 lb. Only small ones in AM on topwater. Bite turned on for me around noon. Had best luck with slow-dragging craw color jigs at the base of rockpiles, and shad color swimbaits (6") over tops of shallow rock gardens.
    City: Folsom

Tips: Rockpiles on edge of deeper (15' or more) water is the key. Only a few more days and the rec boaters are gone, then lake back to 5 mph. Wahoo.

    Water Temp: did'nt look

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I have been reading reports from this web site for a few years now, and have decided I am going to start posting reports. I fish every weekend and feel I have some info that can be usefull. I was on the water by 6 a.m., little to no wind. Threw reaction to no avail. First 2 casts with a swim bait (small blue huddleston shad) landed a 8 lb, and a 5 lb. On a major body point, did'nt hardly feel the take, but it was taken on the fall, both times. After that it shut down, a few 1-2 lbers on a drop shot in 10-15 ft of water. My best day on Folsom yet, 19 lbs. Check out the pic on the photos!
    City: El Dorado hills, Ca

Tips: fish slow after the front, check your line OFTEN on the drop shot. Best bites were before the sun came up in the shallow on points. Good luck.

Report: Cast for kids tournament out of granite bay put on by Folsom Bass Team. Very organized and lots of fun. I had 2 kids and a mom in my 21 foot Triton. I think there were over 20 boats in the event. Jeff our president and committed did a wonderful job. It was nice to see the kids smile as they reeled in 11 spots in 2 hours. I even got them to kiss the fish goodby. We got our boat pulled out by club members and went to a nice barbaque. The kids all got a rod and nice tackle box with various tackle inside. The dart headed fish we caught hit pirzm shad worms.
I am looking forward to next years event and hope we get more people involved.
    City: orangevale

Tips: The fish wouldn't eat live night crawles below a bobber???? So we dart headed them. 10 to 15 feet in the rocks. Take a kid fishing

Report: Dodged the wind until about 1pm and no crowds,so itwas a nice day to fish. Fished the trees on the peninsula and near Beals Pt. for one 3# spot and lost a nice one. One fish for two bites. Seemed pretty slow, maybe all this cold weather has an affect. Tried Senko and worms, but maybe they wanted something else, somewhere else?
