Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: THIS IS A REPORT FOR LAKE NATOMA!!!!! This report can be applied to just about every summer down on this little gem of a lake. Just so you know, don't expect more than 4-6 bites in a day. The bites you do get will be from GOOD fish though.

Cranked, bladed, ripped, but ended up getting the most bites on a dropshot. I missed several bites as did Brian, but he did stick a 4.7 lb. "mule" Smally that had 3 or 4 other fish with her that were as big or bigger. Stayed around that area for a while, but moved around to find the water high, but not moving much. When that happens at Natoma, it is like slack tide on the Delta, NO BITES!!

Tips: Just move from tree to tree and find the fish. Every piece of wood had a fish in or on it. Dropshot or darthead the usual plastics.

If was windy and crankin across the rocky points.

Stay in 15-25 ft and in the morning stay in 5-10 ft.

    Water Temp: 75

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Tried to fish an evening bite with my buddy "Mateo" Mallory and started around 5pm on Tuesday. The recreational usage of this lake on a weeknight is unbelievable. Tons of wakeboarders and sea doo's with no boating etiquette whatsoever coming within 50-75 feet of us trying to bass fish near the shore. If you are one of those guys reading this, go F yourself!

Anyways, we fished many spots including the dam and a few coves with no luck. Tries brushogs, senko's, cranks, etc.... Nada for three hours.
until we pulled in a cove just north of granite bay launch ramp near another small launch ramp on the opposit side of the lake heading up north fork with a tiny dock. Mateo hooked a small one (1 pound-ish) and lost it at the boat on a chartruse (sp?) spinnerbait. Then, the whopper of the lake came out to bite. I hooked into this beautiful small mouth on a pink/black mini-spinnerbait. Size/length= 3oz and about 6-7 inches in length. Probably born three months ago. Two casts later, hooked a kamikazee bluegil on the same spinner bait near the little launch ramp. This guy was no bigger than the actual bait I was throwing.

All in all, this lake sucks for fishing. If it wasn't so convienent and around the corner, I'd never fish it again. But..... I am sure we'll be back on the water next week just to practice technique.

Tips: Take food with you because you sure as hell won't feed your family with a Folsom Lake catch.

Report: Out in the water by 7:30, bite was slow, caught some dropshot fish on humps w/ 10' of water on top, also some on the darthead around boulders, tried a hula grub for a while, but, nothing. By 10:30 or 11:00 the bite turn, big fish around trees with 5-10' of water around. Got a 3# Largie and 2 spots about the same size, also lots of 1.5 - 2.5 spotted ones. All of them on a wacky senko.

Report: Went out from 4 pm to 8 pm with a friend who does'nt fish much. I gave him a wacky senko and I did the same. Good bite we had 15 fish with most of them largemouth. Most fish were 1.5 to 2 lbs. My friend did get a 4.5 l.m. and then a 4 lb smally , his personal best.We only caught one fish off the bank, the rest came off shallow rocky offshore stuff, ten feet seemed to be the zone. I tried weedless senkos in the trees and never got bit.

Report: Fished North and South for the last 2 week. Been catching a lot of fish in the 2 lb range and an occasional 3 to 4 lber. Taking spots and smallies
on bolders and trees. The bigger fish are comming off trees in 5 to ten feet of water. All senkos wacky style fish. I seem to be able to catch fish on any bank with wacky senkos latley.
    City: Granite Bay

Tips: Dead stick the senkos. Cast let it set and lift up and see if there on. I some time will snap the line and try to trigger them when bored.

    Water Temp: 76

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Hit the water around 16:45. My buddy and I fished all around the island outside of Brown's and got nothing. Headed for NY cove. Fished for about an hour before the first fish, a dink. The second fish came about 10 minutes later. A 4.4 that was all head and no gut. Both fell to a spinner bait. Off the water at dark after all the ski boats cleared the ramp. That's it. Sept for the mallard that got tangled up. 'nother story.

    City: sac

Tips: Mouths were beat up from scraping for dads, one real small bass spit up a whole bunch of fry. Didn't have my front depht finder back yet so I fished blind and shallow. Just had a good ole day tossing and reeling in. left real early.

Report: Late afternoon visit, fished main body points, humps, riprap. *inch woodchopper*. Bites were suttle, vicious, and some were just regular.
    City: sac

Tips: Rip the bait like a rip bait, pausing after a few rips. After cast, let it sit a bit, then just move it very slowly by little twitches and pause it , afterwards rip the hell out of it. Very productive on the deeper trees.

    Water Temp: 6?

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Out early, launched at Rattlesnake, fished top water on the bank to the left of ramp, lots of short strikes, finally got one (my first TW fish) about 1.5 #, missed a bunch more during the next hour.got some fish on darts and drpshoting here and there, wind blown banks and points seemed to work best. I spent a lot of time casting a white swiming senko at trees with deep water near by, well, it paid off, a healthy 3+ # out of some brush that fought a lot bigger than it was. Great day on the water, ended up with about 10 for about 9# on the best 5.

Tips: Go Out have fun, and remember, skiers pay their fees too (although they drive us crazy)

Report: I have not fished California for three weeks. I've been off to Lake Powell with the California Federation Nation State Team. We need better anglers for next years team. The qualifiering tournament is at Clear Lake Aug. 3 & 4, 2007 for next years team. I know we have some great anglers around here. The other states kick our asses, so lets get down and return the faver to them.
    Thanks Capt Jack
