Report: Just wanted to thank Russ Graves for putting on Thanksgiving Day Turkey-Shoot! I believe winning weight for a "3-fish limit" was just over 11 pounds(6.5 lb. kicker!), very nice!!! We managed about 7.5 lbs., which our fish came on jigs and C-rigs. Also wanted to congratulate the guy in the silver with blue stripes Ranger, for not getting my Huddleston upside his head. Next time you pull those jet-skier lake-lice antics with a fellow angler, he might be waiting for you at the ramp!!! I'd expect more from a fellow bass angler, especially a "Ranger owner"...

    Water Temp: 58.9 at brown

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Started off with swim bits, no takers. Toosed spook for a while, still nothing, jigs , darts, drop, still nothing. Went back to swim baits still nothing. Left with nothing.
    City: sacto

Tips: Sometimes nothing is a good thing, it reminds you that the bass are creatures of mystery at times.Did not look for bait nor fish, just fished. If you want to get at least something you need to do that. Good fishing , Jimbo

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: The kids and I hit the lake at safe light out of Granite Bay. We started with main lake points and rock piles with home poured worms and jigs with nothing but a few short bites. We headed up to the north fork and continued to get bit on anything with green and or brown. Three hours on the lake and time to go home and get ready for Thanksgiving with only a few in the boat, nothing to talk about.
    City: Sacramento

Tips: All the fish were in 15 to 25 feet. You had to work the bait very slowly to get them to bite. Take a kid fishing........you might learn something!

Report: Fished club T O C with Vincent Lees, Started up north fork because of success pre fishing. Nice limit drop shot? Not one bite by 9:30 so we left for south fork. Vince had a couple of spots and they paid off right away. 3 keepers drop shotin 35 foot range on long point. Tried one of my spots that pete robino and I used to fish and nailed a fat 5 lber on a capt jack jig. 1/2 oz brown and purple skirt twin tail brown yamamoto trailer. Went back to long point and vince catches no. 5. We had 5 bites all day but they were enough to win with almost 10 lbs. Thanks Vince for giving up your spot for me. One other boat had a limit split shot in 15 foot range. Tough bite but that's the dead sea for ya.
    City: Orangvale

Tips: Use your electronics and fish slow. Bigger fish are on jigs as usual. I used a two hook drop shot rig with different colored worms to find out what they wanted. Brown on the bottom and a shad color on top hook. They wanted brown worms.Use 6lb test floro carbon line. Remember 5 bites in 8 hrs.NEVER GIVE UP

Report: Rains have been helping the bite for me. Nothing over 3 lbs, but lots of them on reaction baits and then plastics or jigs. No faith in blades, so no bites on blades. Points, points and then fish points.
    City: Folsom

    Tips: Rain gear is key.

    Water Temp: 58

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: COLD! Coldest day of the year by far. When we first hit the water at safe light, thought it was going to be a pretty nice day. But, fog and wind rolled in and it was Burrrrrrr City. We started on some humps over by Dike 8 and got a 2'4 rippin', but that was it for a while. Then we ran to the Browns Ravine area and got 2 nice keepers on a drop shot. Had a lot of other hits on the drop shot but they just wouldn't commit. Then ran to Folsom Point and got a lot more hits on the d-shot, but once again they wouldn't eat the bait with authority. Ran to the peninsula area and experienced our best bite of the day. We hit 5 more fish up to 2'5 on the jig and d-shot.
    City: Roseville

Tips: 25-35 feet of water seemed to be the key. New it would be a tough bite with the cold storm front. I've seen this on Folsom before where there is an extreme weather change and the fish just play with the bait. Totalled 8 fish, with the best 5 going 10'4. I know it doesn't matter much, but this will be my last report. I have been posting on this site for years and I am sad to see how bad things have gotten. I'm sure some of the reports are bogus, but it is not our responsibility to call out other fisherman when we believe they are lying. Myself, along with others come to this site to get fishing reports and post reports to help others, not sift through postings of people bickering back and forth. I have won semi pro angler of the year in both New Bass and Anglers Choice circuits and won other open tournaments on the delta. I feel I am pretty accomplished on that body of water. I don't mention this to toot my own horn, but only to make a point. I post reports out of respect to my fellow 'fishing brothers' in hopes of helping them have a better trip when they go. I read the reports in hopes of them helping me get a better idea of what is going on. I like sharing the things I have learned because I was fortunate enough to have some good people share their knowledge with me when I was picking up the sport. I think we are fortunate to have guides like Larry Hemphill and Cooch who are willing to share their info with us. However, there are many other very good fisherman who used to post, but you don't hear from them anymore. It doesn't take a lot to understand why they are missing. Good luck out there.

    Water Temp: 61

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Started out early main body five inch swim baits. Caught two keepers, then proceeded to south fork bridge(underwater 3 feet), caught on eright at four pounds, had another tap, no hook up both bites on quater ounce jigs. Full moon, east wind, calm mostly, bad for aggressive fish.Threw one tons on deep structure till about 11:00 then started throwing my eight inch huddleston because it was dinner time for mr. big. Main body 12:00 hooked into a good one that weighed nine pounds six ounces on my culimrite. No other takers. Had to return home for more honey dos. Left at 1:00.
    City: sacto

Tips: If bite is slow in the a.m. try bigger baits at midday. They will come up and the larger fish will take the best offering. Forget about small baits to increase your limit.
    Good fishing, jimbo

    Water Temp: did not check-p

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Started out early throwing swimbaits, no takers. Problem full moon, cold wind, blue birdsky, after low system. Bite difficult, changed to jigs, went to underwater bridge, topped out at three feet, be careful. Caught a 4.5, 3 plus, wind was so bad I left farther down stream tossed more jigs on vertical walls, caught another pushing five pounds at thirty five deep. Wen tot play, metered a lot of bait and fish in the area, left to go home early. Tuff bite. Just ask Neil and Stevey. neil was kind enough to release the air bladder on one of my 4 pounders.
    City: sacto

Tips: The weather is the prime thiung about these bass. Check it the day before and rig up accordingly to gain best results. Hopefully Sunday will be better. Good fishing, jimbo

    Water Temp: 61-63

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: So,I pretty much was here visiting family and had heard that folsom was a great lake to swimbait fish for lunker largemouth so, I took the day off and I pretty much trew Huddleson shasta trout swim baits all day long. Best 5 fish was 35 pounds. Was pretty close to my best day fishing.
    City: Texas

Tips: The key I found was dragging the huddleston right on the bottom. I was fishing some humps that I later found out was called mormon island over by browns. goodluck and happy fishing..

Report: Anyone that knows Jim or at least knows of him...is aware that he is one of the premiere anglers on Folsom. He spends a lot of time out there. I think instead of questioning his honesty, we should encourage him (and others) to continue to post to the Reports page. Its a very handy tool for those looking for "tips" on how to fish lakes.

    Water Temp: 63

Report: started early, main body mouth of south fork. Swim baits got thirteen pounds for three fish in about twenty minutes.Moved to other locations that were similar but no takers. Fish off the bite quickly. Temperatures rose to the dislkes of the bass. Caught numerous 2.5 pounders afterwards just having fun. Jigs were my choice in i/4 oz size, watermelon. Left early for honeydos.
    City: sacto

Tips: Turnover just not happening, just like the salmon run. Try up the north for numbers of bass. Early is the name of the game if weather does not change. good fishing , jimbo

    Water Temp: 60s

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Started out at the bridge south fork, jacks shack, one 4ponder. Left and worked my way out to the main body. Caught five more 4pounders (clones) and ended up with a six pounder .I quit at one o'clock.
    City: sacramento

Tips: The rivers hole the majority of fish at the present time of the year. Forget about thew main body. Sure there are some fish there but you may find that the majority are up river. Forget about plastics, jigs, spoons, cranks, top water etcv. They just want one thing. Good fishing jimbo.
