Water Temp: 75-77 deg
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: what a nice afternoon on the water of folsom lake. water still going down, we saw four skiers and three other fisherman. Jim Ryan and I left Granite bay boat ramp at 4:pm with light winds and 92 deg temp. we worked our way into the north fork draging a leach worm and cranking, jim got the first smallie cranking and even the rest of his came on cranking a shad color. I went to jiging a brown/brown with # 180 grub for my fish. no blow ups on top water or no bits on blades. the sun went down too early, next week we will start early. will folsom ever stop going down ?????
City: rocklinTips: fish in 10 to 20 feet with small plastic.

Water Temp: 75 -77
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Started off the day with topwater, no luck! The overcast day should have been great for it. We did find bass on Senkos on rock piles it 10 - 15 feet of water. Found a bridge north of Jack's Shack that runs across the river channel that I never knew existed. I have that spot on my GPS for the next time the water rises. Wind starated to blow and we were off the water by noon with only 3 in the boat, nice day.

Water Temp: 77-79
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Windy evening on the lake. Stayed in the south fork to try and avoid blowin around. Caught 5 keepers, again on Rat-L-Traps. Two of them were 2 and 3 pounds. Took my son and let him real 'em in. He was stoke'd. Blades and plastics were not workin for me, again tonight. I'm sure it's a confidence thing by now, so fish with what works for you. Wind muddied up the waters a bit.
City: Fair OaksTips: Fish with something noisy. Rat-L-Traps working for me. Bleeding shad w/ golden back in original size working best. Moderately fast retrieves over submerged humps, rocky points, drop-offs, etc.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: i waited until 6am for the gate to open and drove down to the boat ramp, the winds were blowing 20-30mph, so we decided to go to Camp Far West. got 20 bass within the first hour. maybe wedesday will be better on folsom lake.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I needed redemption after last weekends trip to Pedro!!
Overcast skies and Cool morning I thought topwater would be the tickect, not for me. Went ot rippin nada, ran to wall in the South Fork by the pump house and started dart heading (What Else for Hippie) I thought for a minute I was at Oroville!!!!! Found a school of 12 - 14 inchers that were on the bite. Fish after fish for about a 1/2 hour then STOPPED. Anyway had fun, be careful on the main body as humps and islands are just under or just starting to show thier heads. It was pretty windy ans nasty as well on the main body. It is weird to see the lake this low in August, look down at the water temp and see 75 degrees it felt like winter I expected to see 48 with the conditions
City: SacramentoTips: There is topwater I am sure for those in the know I have not had a good topwater season this year. Pro Worms in Pro-Gold or Mean Craw for me.

Water Temp: 75
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Went out for the morning with my brother in law from L.A. ,started in the North fork ,as usual the wind was blowing again ,never fails.First few cast caught one a little over 12 inches off a rock pile with a crank bait .moved back down the north fork and was casting at when looked like a boulder and hit a nice fish maybe 4 lbs. ?the fish jumped once and it was free ,caught a few more just over 12 inches and lost one that i didn't even see .all were on lucky craft crank baits ,in 2- 12ft of water all bites came early a few cranks of the reel .waitning for a few more days of cool weather and maybe they will think fall is here ,good luck and tight lines
City: rosevilleTips: the only tip I have is lucky craft baits they rock

Water Temp: 77-78
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the rockpile and south fork from 4pm to sundown. Caught 8 fish, 6 keepers on Rat-L-Traps in shad colors. Tried blades and worms with no luck. All fish caught in south fork. Last cast in darkness produced 7 pound bass! My personal record.
City: Fair OaksTips: Worms and blades not doin it for me lately. Rat-L-Trap in bleeding-shad/gold back pattern around rock piles, rocky shores and submerged humps worked for me. Who knows for how long, though.

Water Temp: 80-81 deg
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: jim and justin and i fished the south fork from 4pm to dark using worms, blades, top water to find alot of dinks from 4" to 1 1/2 lbs on rocky points and steep banks. its nice to have all that 5 mph zone area to fish in with no lake lice. a hot day on the water with no large fish.

Water Temp: 82
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Had to go see what the water level looks like. Got on the water after 4:00 pm and could not believe how low it is. One of the most productive trips I have ever had as I spent most of my time marking off shore humps and islands on my GPS unit. Thank goodness for way points. I caught seven fish the largest a 4lb largemouth on a Luckey Craft Sammy. A 3.2 lb spot ate the Sammy too. Two other good 2lb+ spots on a ghost colored crank, one on a Stasybe, also in the ghost color. The drop shot only gave me dinks and nothing on a jig.
City: SacramentoTips: Fish till as late as possible. The gate closes at 10:00 pm and all my bigger fish came at dark. Just remember that going back to the launch after dark is nasty without GPS and a trail that was saved. The 5 mph zone starts at New York Cove in the South arm which left alot of water to get away from the lice. $15.00 launch fee and there was a ranger helping direct the launch process. should be good fishing this fall.

Water Temp: 65 and up
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: i managed 3 spots around 15"s in 8ft of water in the rattlesnake arm on dropshot using a handpoured sculpin in fire and ice. the fish were spitting up shad, and lots of bait were getting pushed into the bank by the wind and the bass were blowing up on them. but no takers on topwater, swimbaits or cranks....only fished the bank for 2hours if that. not too bad for folsom on the bank.
City: SacramentoTips: dropshotting in 10 to 40ft of water with small baits worked for me.

Water Temp: 78-80 deg
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: we got in the water a 4:pm, hot at 108 deg. made afast run up the south fork into the 5 mph zone. found a tall rock wall on the north side in 25 ft of water. jim ryan and denny howard each got a largemouth 4.8 and 5.5 the first cast using a worm split shoting. then a 3.0 lb the same way. headed up to salmon bridge, found water 63 deg, came back to rock wall and picked up 2 dozen dinks with worms. found not top water. good for as hot as it is. look for fish on steep rocky banks and 25-35 ft of water.

Water Temp: 73.9 - 74.2
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: WOW, started out with a bang!!! First stop Mormom Island Dam, second cast with a Buzzbait a nice fat Smallie, four casts later a clone!! another fat Smallie bout 1 3/4 lb. HMMMM a pattern? Not Buzzbaited and cranked for about a hour no more!! Moved to a off shore rockpile that Folsom rats know about with these low water conditions on the main body. Fish and bait everywhere!! Dartheaded a nice spot bout two lb.HMMM nothing but decent keepers and it is still only 7:30. Did a lot of moving and graphing of fish but nadda on the main body.
Ran to my favorite wall just before Jack's, wrong Idea the water not right and the skiers/jet skiers are thick in the South Fork ALREADY!! HMMM made me think I better go back to near the ramp at Hobie to take a peak!!! The ramp was ten boats deep and looking ominous, I chose to get off the water by 8:45.
I did do a dock talk to a gent that wanted a point I was buzzing early in the morning, take this for what it's worth I put no credence to it!
He asked if I was staying? No I replied, He stated he had been getting 3's and 4's with one 7 off this particular point in 4 -6 feet of water!! HMMMM water dropping a foot a day fish on the bank!!! Like I said take it for wahti's worth. One thing I will say with these low water level's the fish are going to be congegated and easier to catch this fall and real easier come Winter!!!
City: sacramentoTips: Stick with the tradinational Fosom patterns TOpwater early then find the drop offs and rock piles!!! It is going to be a really fun Fall and Winter with these low water conditions. Back out on Sunday!! See ya there get it early and leave unless you love lake lice and wake board maggots!!

Water Temp: 78 deg
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: quency malone and friends and i went out at 4pm. found our first dozen or more dinks in the main body out near the wind sock going off the point towards the dam. used a 4" white ears warpon worm split shot. moved later to anderson island on the back side, picked up three more some bass. went into a cove then back to rocky point and stated getting 2-2.5 lbs in 10-20 ft. leaches in 4" work. water is still going down, that means less boaters, but more rocks coming up. my other fishing partner jim ryan got a 2.1 lb largie. total bass was about 20, joe miller and tom got some good fish also with split shot. out of the water at dark (8:45pm). not a bad evening after work fishing with friends.
City: rocklinTips: watch out for new rocks and fish slow with small worms, lizards.

Water Temp: 80-82 deg
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: denny and i went out at 4:30pm, hott at 104 deg. we went up the north fork and found some non sking water just passed the floating bathroom on a point with small rocks. fished in 20-30 ft of water using a split shot with a 4" leach, landed three spots and one smallie. found more skers than bass. the water is dropping to fast, we will not have water later. moved to anderson island on large rocks and found bass that were not hungry. the boat traific makes it hard to stay in the zone. just before dark we moved on a bank that has stick and grass and used a white buzz bait. got four blow ups, hook all four and lost them. It looks like the fish are having a hard time find there new homes when the water is dropping so fast.
City: rocklinTips: fish slow and deep off rocks near points and shaded areas. use a small worm.

Water Temp: 74 deg
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: The gate at Granite Bay did not open until 6:15 a.m. so I missed the early morning bite. Started with flukes and ended up throwing them until 10:00 when I left.Had a lot of fun missing more strikes than hooking up.Ended up with 11 fish total. 1 ea. 3.5 lbs, 2 ea. 2.5 lbs, 2 ea 2 lbs. The rest were short and small. The best bet for launching is have four wheel drive and launch on the bank. Wear sandals and shorts. the only ramp is a two lane that gets crowded when taking out.I was out last Saturday and left at 12:00 in the afternoon and counted a line of boats 30 deep waiting to launch.
City: Granite Bay Ca.Tips: Rocky points and rock piles 5 to 10 deep. I was jerking most the time and saw most hits. Mix up your presentation. Two of the best fish came on the initial fall.Leave the hook exposed and ratio of hook-ups will increase

Water Temp: 75
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: The lake is more like a puddle at this time. We had trouble getting the boat launched due to the dock had not been moved down far enough with the water level at least 45 feet down from normal pool level. My 9 year old son Colin had a banner day catching 4 bass all on a 1/4oz silver Kastmaster. All the bass were in the rocks and very shallow. There was no wind to speak of and the lake was quite. Off the water by 12:00 noon, a good day. That's right he out fished me today so I won't go into my catch (1) information. Don't laugh Andrew, it happens to the best of us!
City: SacramentoTips: Take your children, they will teach you a thing or two. Patience is a virtue!

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Gates don't open till 6am, so didn't really get to take advantage of an early topwater bite. Through a rip bait for about all of 5 minutes on my "hot spot" and not a follower in sight. Put on a crankbait and caught a dink on the third cast. Smallest fish I've ever caught on my favorite point which usually produces a 2+ lbs. fish for me everytime. Tried plastics there and at some of my usual rockpiles, coves, etc. without any bites which was strange. Dropped a 3+ spot at the boat while the Sherrif's boat was watching nearby. They stopped and gave me their "sympathy sign" with their arms wide open saying "that big?" I gave them a fake chuckle and a smile as if I didn't care about missing the "bigun", but inside I was burning up. After a few more casts and deep sighs, I felt much better and relaxed.
City: FolsomTips: Crankbaits is the bait "du jour" I guess for now in the AM. Not many pleasure boaters which was unusual for a Saturday, but then again I was off the water by Noon. Water is a little lower than normal for this time of the year which should make the fishing better than it was.

Water Temp: 70's
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: See below.
City: SacramentoTips: Bobby,
See the previous reports that I and others have posted. Jack's Shack area in the trees has been good with Senkos in watermelon and purple. Trees have been the hot spots for me in the past several trips to Folsom. I would try white, silver or blue spinner baits as well. If you get out early you might try topwater, I hope that it turns on soon as it is always the most fun! The back sides of rocky point protected from the wind have also produced the last trip out! Good luck and let us know how you did! -
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Sincerely,
Bobby and his Daugthers
