Report: Fished Friday beore the tourniment by mysel. Fish were scattered but I caught 7 spot on small rapala, 4" worms, a grub, and one more smallie on top water. Most were just twelve inches but one at 15 --but she was lean. Fished early and there were boats preishing on every point.Fished on th 17th also. Same story, small bass scattered and needed a range o baits to get them. No pattern. Water was still rather clear but lots o pollen, leaves, and such on the top.Wonder how peole did in the tourniment. Could use some eedback and suggestions.

    Water Temp: 65.0

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Lots o water traic and I did not hit the water untill noon. Nice relaxing day ater being blown all over the north end o Clear Lake Thursday. The ish have most deinately moved. There are quite a ew largemouth on beds now that the temp has hit 65. The ish that I saw were locked in on there beds and not moving. Are they catchable? Don't know, there is something about agitating a ish guarding a nest that does not eel right to me. Each to his own but I did not try to catch these ish.I caught about 15 ish rom 12-7:15, mostly on cranks, senko, and sot jerk baits over 20-45 oot o water. The ish , at least the spots are post spawn and suspended over structure, aggressive hits but had to wade through a lot o dinks to get a limit o 5 ish the largest 2.6lb. Aer a ew more weeks o recharging the ever-readys I would expect the larger spots to start showing up. Looking orward to the upcoming western bass tourn. this sat.
    City: Sacramento

Tips: Change, most deinately a post spawn pattern or the smallmouth and spots, the largemouth are on the beds , hopeully they will get there business done with and get outa there. For every largemouth I catch in this lake I'll catch 7 spots and 2 smallmouth. Let the largemouth spawn or we will soon have another Oroville. Whack the Spots!

Report: Just like the guys in the last couple o reports, things seem to have slowed down or at least changed. Been pretty much slaying em since the end o March, good weather or bad.The last couple o trips (5/6 and 5/8, both evening) It was tough. Caught ewer and smaller ish using the same patterns. You can still ind a bed or two but the ish are VERY spooky and I seem to waste more time than it's worth. Personally, I think the ish are still in the trees and on and around rockpiles but have changed THEIR pattern. Last month you had to put the bait in ront o them and the bite was light. Now, ish seem to be chasing. Ater dropping Senkos in the trees rom 20 t. and only getting hit on the ast retrieve close to the boat, I inally tied on a spinner bait and picked up a couple o nice ish out o the same trees I had been throwing Senkos in to. Maybe the Senkos have been working SO well or SO long that some o us have orgotten that other baits exist. I did have a 4 or 5 pounder ollow a Senko all the way to the boat. Oh well, I guess i there WAS only 1 bait in the world...........

Report: Finished work early so i headed out to the lake around 3:30.Went straight to the trees where i've been banging them or at least a month. To my dismay they were no longer there.I did catch a ew but most were the 13-14 inch rats that tear up your bait.Looks like they've either moved out or there not on a evening bite. I did try top water(spook)and didn't get one blow up.

Report: My partner and I launched at Granite Bay at around 7:00 a.m. Got a late start. Fished the rock piles up North and caught 5 small spots - 1 went about 2 lbs. Then I went south and threw a spinner bait on the rock walls and caught 6 more. All in all a pretty good day. We were o the lake by noon to avoid the boat traic.I'm still learning the lake since I've only ished it a hal dozen times. Two weeks ago, it was on and I nailed 30+ ish with two over 5 lbs and 3 over 4 lbs. Yes and Gary is the man!!!!

Report: Like busting o a post a ew days beore a bass club meeting. The boys say I'm entertaining- that's like being told your blind date has a good personality. Made an extra long tow to Rattlesnake or a couple reasons. Had to ish on the trolling motor only (engine still down), and I picked up a new tow rig- a mint 1 year old Toyota Sequoia, and I thought I'd test it out. Mint is the key word- what happened to showroom depreciation? More on this in a minute, Tony asked me to stick to the ishing irst on these reports. 15 or so, nothing over 3lbs. Senkos in the willows and darterheads on the walls. The bucks were up shallow and I think the actual spawners were just picking up the bait and moving it as evidenced by hal o your plastic coming back ater an unsuccessul swing. I downsized to 4 inch, and improved my ratio, but not the quality. Too windy to see the beds, and I broke my Solar Bat rames again anyway. Got a couple on blades too. Lake level is being held at 445 eet or two weeks now- interesting to know why. My rig turned curios heads. A newly aquired Sequoia with papers still on the windshield towing an engineless bass boat. The lower unit is still there, and there's wires and cables hanging out loosly with a couple zip ties. My boat has the used hard and put away wet look anyway. At a glance it obvious who wears the pants in this amily. Consider this: with the better hal proiling around, rolling up to soccer games in a real nice sled, I get a truckload o go ishing permission slips. (Hopeully)

My brother Steve was with Greg Miles in the other boat. Steve got 7 including 2 LMB one went 5.2# (Steve makes the club) and Greg did manage to catch one himsel. Most all ish on Senko's - mostly watermelon (black and/or red lake)very subtle bite. We ished alot o brush, alot on the shallow side when we could. Steve was ishing Grubs on points and drop os.

Report: Even though I wasn't planning to, I ished the BASS Federation tournament Sunday. At blasto I noticed the water was calm over by the dam so I started ishing at the parking lot and caught several 1-2 lb. spots when I noticed ish breaking over deeper water. I picked up a top water plug, let it sit ater it hit the water and it was attacked by a 3lb. spot. I caught several more working over 30t. and then ound a school o ish on a rockpile in 35t. Useing a Yamamoto grub on a 3/16 darthead, dropshotting a morningdawn lahtrix and a morningdawn Duh spoon I ended up catching a limit o spots over 15lbs. I caught a lot o smaller ish shallow at Beals Point and Moony Ridge and saw huge numbers o ish milling around in the trees. I caught ish here too, but nothing big enough to help me, so I went back to deep water and culled a couple more.

Report: A say good-by day to my boat and 2K or a month or a powerhead overhaul. Hole in #6 piston. Conditions were perect or a trolling motor only outing. Wind blew down the lake early and changed direction and blew me back to the launch in the aternoon. Between shits it died or a while and I identiied several beds and a variety o spawning activity. Some had a pair locked on, others a single roaming ish, others a locked ish. All were over 6 eet deep or more, and I backed o and blind casted Senkos or about 10-12lbs. Nothing over 3, but several plump 2lb spottys. Kinda un- I kept switching rom Yamamoto Sr's bait to junior's and the contest was a draw. I think Sr wins cause his baits are cheaper per each. Went in shore and looked or largemouth beds, but none ound today. Ripped a couple little bucks early. Wanted to stop by the Feds oice there at the dam, but I used all the time or ishing. Anyone know i they are going to start the dam improvements project? Break me o an e-mail. I'm pretty conservative, (Swimbait thinks I still have a Reagan shrine somewhere in the house), but we got to build Auburn. The project on Folsom is a bandaid at best.
    City: El Dorado Hills

Tips: The spawn is on. Couldn't look around much, so don't know where the big largemouth are.

Report: Got a late start with my buddy Steve at about 12:30. Fished about 5 hours. Nothing at irst, then start picking up some 1-2 pound spots on plastics. Tried Senkos irst, but ended up going to the 4-inch worms. No reaction bite. Pretty much any color worked. Ended up with about 17 bass, best going 2.6 pounds. Missed at least 15 that had it by the tail or dropped it. Not quite the Delta or size, but the numbers were pretty good.
    City: Rancho Cordova

Report: What started out as a REAL slow day turned very productiveNO reaction bites to thrill you olks with but the WitchStick AKA Darthead and Mo-tex put 20 plus ish in the boat today. No toads best ive was about 11 lbs. I have been spoiled with the 20 plus ish days at Oroville the lat ew weeks and thought I had lost it. Bite picked up in the South Fork about 9:30 and got on a ew secluded protected Sun warming banks that were loaded with ish. God I love Pro Worms!!!
    City: Sacramento

Tips: Main Body had producing but with all the winds and weird weather the more protected arms produced. The bright sun shining on Northern banks was the ticket. Sorry my partner only boated Two.

    Water Temp: 55

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Had an opportunity to get out this aternoon and with the weather looking like it wanted to clear, I headed out. Wanted to try up the north so I put in at peninsula campground about 3:45pm. It was partly cloudy with a bit o a breeze. I put my boat in, tied it to the dock and beore I could park my truck, a MEAN wind and hail squal came through blowing at least 30+mph. Suddenly the lake was white with 3 oot whitecaps. With breakers coming over the stern o my boat, I pulled out and sat in the parking lot to see what happened next. As quickly as it had come, it was gone. I put back in 15 mins. later and shot directly across the lake to dead slik water. all o this and last couple o days o nasty weather didn't seem to eect the bite much. Same old story, just a little deeper. Fish seemed to be suspended in trees and around rockpiles in 10 to 20 t. Caught 7 spots to 2 1/2 lbs. and a couple o smallies (one nice) Mostly senko ish. 1 grub, 1 spinnerbait. Best bite was just beore dark.
