Report: Fished the Bay o Folsom (The main part o the lake) that's what it seemed like with the strong winds. Had a pretty decent day. I worked one point and produced about 7 ish all rom 1.5 to 2.5lbs, mostly spots and a couple o smallies. Fished out at Rattlesnake bar to escape all the skiers and jet skis. Caught about our, in about an hour. Went back to Granite Bay and caught about 5 more in the same range all using Senko's Watermelon with red or black pepper; both 3" and 4" in an average o 8 eet o water. Not too bad o a day or a novice like me.

Tips: I'm a believer in plastics again.

Report: Went out on 4-11 at twelve noon and ished untill ive. caught twentysix bass all spots, no big ones that everyone else seems to say they are cathing. three o them might have went 2.5 to 3 LBS. Caught them in trees near rocks and deep water on cotton candy lizards and morning dawn 4" worms. I could see bass everywhere but they did not seem to be holding on beds , seemed to me that they are still just getting ready to bed. I saw a couple a bass that could have went six plus but they just cruised past, was hoping to ind one o those on a bed. Maybe I should try senkos the newspaper and everyone else seems to brag them up preety good, maybe thats what you need to catch the big ones.

Report: Spent a couple hours on the South ork in the evening and ound some nice LMB. Landed 3 large mouth rom 2-3.2 lbs along with one smallie in two hours. The ish were just o a creek channel in 10-15 eet o water and hit on a split-shotted 4-inch witches-t. With he rising water, the ish may have been on beds. Their tails were somewhat thrashed. I ished slow and the pick-ups were light. I'll take 4 ish or 9.2 lbs any evening.
    City: Folsom

Tips: Go with the plastic that you have the most conidence in and be sure you eel even the slightest "tick" in the line. The biggest ish had the lightest bite.

Report: Not sure what I did wrong today (brought the wie?) Sounds like Bass Moniker slayed em. I've ished Folsom at least a dozen times in the past two months and done well everytime. Guess I was due or a bad one. Did mostly the same stu as Bass Moniker and only managed 2 ish (both small) out o the trees on the smaller watermellon senkos. Oh well, I'll try again Soon. Bass Moniker, what size/color senkos are you lippin' in the trees?

Report: Started about 8am, Fished up the south a ew coves. Took an hour or so to get on some ish. Once there, ished dirent areas all in the same cove. Rocks, gravel, trees, short green weeds on shorelines, etc. Caught a ew ish everywhere but not a lot anywhere. Caught ish rom 2 to 18 t. Saw several beds on shallow points near backs o coves. (mostly small ish) ound one with a pair o 31/2 pounders "locked on". The male Came in three casts and my buddy had the hen beore I could release My ish. Don't get the opportunity to sight ish Folsom Too oten, sure was un. The bed was in about 5 t. o water and as quickly as the lake has been rising it couldn't have been there long. Anyone who thinks the spawn hasn't started at Folsom yet, SURPRISE! My buddys 9yr. old son had big ish or the day at 41/2 lbs. Ever see a kid smile or 4 straight hours? The only time he stopped was to break his athers eggs.Anyhow, not a bad day. 21/2 guys, 5 hrs, 30 ish.
    City: Lotus

Tips: All ish caught on 4" worms or 3" grubs. All colors caught ish but more natural colors seemed to work best. Bed ish hit WHITE grubs.

Report: Fished Folsom or the last 2 days. Cold ront pushing in and cliuds all morning. The clouds didn't slow the bite at all. I was on ish right away in the north and south orks. I was ishing 2-15 eet o water, throwing white spinnerbait with white blades(Lim-It Lures). Rocks and willows are a must or there will be no ish. Fish were all spots and smallies to 3 pounds. Threw some super lukes and got bit as well. total or the two days was 20 ish.(Fishing 7:30 to 12)
    City: Folsom

Tips: let your spinner bait lutter down about halway back to the boat, ish will hit it on the lutter down. Use trailer hooks on your spinnerbaits because a lot o the bites are short. Bass are holding tight to cover and should be bedding soon.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Finally got some time on this water with my 5 year old son today. I hoped or some easy keepers he and I could drag worms or on a gorgeous spring day, and we got them, just not at the pace I anticipated. Doesn't take long or a 5 year old to lose ocus. We darterheaded and split-shot. My ocus has been on other lakes and maybe that's a mistake. A ew o my club buddies ruled the BFL tournament held here on March 23rd. They weighed in 14 and 15lb limits. A ew takeaways rom the day: The bass really aren't "up" yet- a ew signs o beds, and shallow water action slow in the north where I was. This lake is a popular, multi purpose recreational acility. Many boats o every type were out- including the lying type. Wonder i the bite was aected when a seaplane decorated with the AVP Flying Tiger scheme was doing touch and go's. Most exciting part o the day or my boy, however I'm sure or a bass it must have been thier worst nightmare. The biggest, loudest, astest bird o prey with the most menacing grill they had ever seen. Spawn or no spawn- these ish stayed down. Last take: Memo to poachers: get a lie. An angler went by us sitting low in the ront o a well-equiped aluminum. Camolage gear, sunglasses, looking ocused. I asked him i he'd spotted any beds, he replied "what do they look like?" He said he had been getting them on worms. He stopped and anchored a hundred yards away or so and began what looked like worming. He started nailing ish using nightcrawlers. I drited closer and witnessed all the bass going on a stringer hanging o the side. I got a little too close and the angler pulled anchor and sped o with a big bundle o bass in tow. Poached bass- Easter avorite or this loser.

Tips: Fish deeper and avoid sunny, gorgeous spring days on weekends

Report: I know most o you guys are ishing shallow and catching spawning bass, but there are huge schools o bass still in deeper water. Sunday I ound ish holding on island tops and creek channels in 24-30t. Dropshotting a Fashtix and useing a Duh spoon (both morning dawn),Doug Watson and I caught and released 60-70 bass in about 3 hours. These were all spotted bass 1 1/2 to 3 lbs. Lost a couple even bigger. We did catch ish close to the bank, shakin'dart heads and splitshotting, but they were smaller. That will probably all change will this warmer weather so just go ishin'.
    City: Sac.

Tips: Keep your bait on or close to the bottom. Dropshot 4-6" up and i spooning, just lit it a couple inches o the bottom, shake it and let it drop. Morning Dawn was the most productive color.

    Water Temp: 48-55

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Pre ished Folsom again or 2nd weekened in a row. The bite really slowed down compared to last week and the water is cooler. I am happy to report the water is up and the larger ramp at granite bay is open. Started the morning ishing rock piles in the main body or zero bites, lots o ish crashing on top. Made a run to north ork, water was 52 degrees, ound ish in 20 eet o water, caught a ew 3 pound spots on darter heads with iness worms. Decided to try my partners honey holes in the southork, water a bit colder at 48 degrees. Caught alot o nice ish on brush hogs, We started culling about 1pm compared to last week at 10am, so these ish must have elt the cold ront that passed yesterday., I talked to other anglers that had the same slow bite. I did manage to nail a nice 6pound spot on a lipless crankbait. So hope to see her tournament day! Good luck
    City: sacramento

Tips: I would suggest ishing it as much as you can to get a deinate bait pattern, I like using hard baits as my partner is a plastic man, so since the bite is inconsistent, I would try what you eel comoratable with and throw it..although I had not dropp shotted I think you can catch more as I saw alot o suspended ish on the graph on ledges.

I saw several bass and carp in very shallow water. Useing the Catch Cam, I saw some very big bass and catish, stageing in 20 to 25 t. As good as the ishing is now,it is going to bust wide open as soon as we get a ew days o warm sun.
