Report: Got a little spanking in a club tourney with 9.8lbs- winners had almost 13lbs. Didn't get on the jig bite or the cranks, but ortunately my partner landed a nice 3.8 spot when we broke out the split-shot. Blademan also got help rom the back seat when his partner put big ish o the event in the boat, a 5.87lb spot. They were ishing or the big bites with jigs and they placed third with 11.8lbs with only our ish.

Report: My riend Mario took me out or a day on his new G3. Something about my buddies with sweet deep hull alloy rigs and 4 strokes. I asked him i the ire he experienced under the back deck o my boat last year encouraged him to quickly become a boater again. I had to remind him we still got a check that day. He said don't go there. 8 ish to 2.5lbs and a couple bonus rainbows. My highlight was nailing a good spot on a blade while some partying couples made a close pass trolling. They were not impressed. They were dragging a stringer with a couple big bass in addition to thier trout. Mario got a rip ish on the main lake and we wormed the others in the north. Another buddy Lee was hangin with us and he provided detailed specs on some o the new electonics coming out. I'm all: errrr, how deep's the water dude? He was talking about a piece o structure that's now nearly submerged and I said nah, that spot get's pounded- I pass it by. He rolls up and gets 3. I thanked Mario or a great day and returned home in time to watch the Giants come rom ahead to choke against the Niners.
    City: El Dorado Hills

Tips: I didn't bother to plot the coodinates o some o the prime rock piles and wish I had. The lake has risen over 15t since the storms in December. A key rock that's now submerged in murky water takes time to ind with electronics only.

Report: Way to go Pondslayer, (report below) you are not eavesdropping on the site i you step up and report. I wasn't going to report this day, but I was busted at the ramp by Blademan and two o my club's oicers. We're all catching some ish, but boating has become hazardous. Floating debris and unmarked submerged obstructions sometimes pretty ar o-shore. Lake is rising so rapidly it's hard to expect the Sta at Folsom Lake to be able to keep up with marker bouys. It's at 402 eet today.

Report: Harry Honds and Manny Dabble and I were out on the Lake by 9:00am. Loaded up on EJ and some minnows we drited the dam with no luck, nice goin Harry Honds, well ater some lat shots and some head locks I convinced my ellow ish partners to drop some live bait over by the jutting pieces o land. We would hear the ish inder goin o in about 20 t or water then WHAM! hooked up with about 5 ish, small mouth, the biggest about 4 pounds. Tried also the next day, this time trolled the dam about 35 eet down with blades and lashers with a wedding ring/worm trailer,....ew bites but nothing promising. Went back to a "hole" we ound loaded with ish and had a ield day...can;t wait to go back.....Hey Regis! I still got your EJ on the Slayer...see you Stu-Gatz later....Fish Slayer

Report: Thanks or the re-set No Handle Man, (I'm Zipperworm, not Zipperman). Ask Blademan how I earned that handle. Andy (report below) did better than Swimbait and I. I told Swimbait about the day me and No Handle had on Christmas eve. It convinced him to get o the couch. We launched out o Browns and picked one each around the entrance to the south. Spots- his was a 2.75lb atty. Rolled up on my Newbass parner rom last season out on the mainlake. We exchanged greetings: "Get o my water!" ect. He said he only had a couple bites, but I think he holds out on me. Partner warned Swimbait that anything he did could be and would be used against him on the internet (this page). Swimbait's never had issue when I report him backseating me on my water again and again. When I ish with him I have an eyesight problem. I cringe evertime he casts. It's normally way up in ront o me and I know he's about to nail another one. Today was a little dierent: We blanked on the main lake, but Swimbait splitshot another 2.75lb spot in a eatureless area while I was exploring some new water accross rom Brown's. We were stopped and practically deadsticking.

Report: Looks like I'm the only one reporting. I'm not the only one catching. Some o my boys are on the ish out here. Last week a buddy had over 19lbs in tournament and he still lost. Good bite? I sipped coee and dragged about 8 lbs let handed. My partner was trying and caught 14lbs. Should have picked up my jig. Lake level is rising close to a oot a day- it's at 388 t. Report: Elected to miss my club's event at Berryessa this weekend and ished here or a ew hours instead. Christmas lights ect. Our next event is here in January and I'll do some testing and break-o a ew more reports. Sucks or you. Began working the main lake with split shot and my irst strike was a big one. A squawish about 24 inches. In direct contrast to my last encounter with one o these oul creatures, the ish waited patiently while I reached down with plyers and neatly extracted the hook. The ish turned and swam away uneventully- not even a splash. I noticed the point o my premium import hook was bent down. These ish are reerred to as hardmouth. The last time I tried a similar release o a squawish it became a horiying experience or my 3 year old son- more on that in a minute. I continued dragging outside the bouys and landed three keepers including a smallie. They were located between 12 and 15 eet deep- shallower than I expected or a rontal day. Decided to look or better quality and made a run up the south. Fished up river with jigs. There's a couple banks I considered automatic. No activity however. Couldn't be the lake level. It's up about 3 eet, but the releases picked up again- don't get me started. Came out to the entrance o the south ork and dragged three more. The quality was better, and I inished the day at noon with about 8lbs. Two years ago I was amily ishing on Black Butte Reservoir when I nailed something big on a crank. It was a squawish and this is the rest o the story. My recovery strategy (recovery rom the dissapointment) was to merely retrieve my plug and minimize the handling o the ish. I'm leaning over the side o the boat with my son looking on. The ish is calm and it's all good when out o nowhere the ish goes ballistic. My son alls back in the driver's seat and the it lips up and lands in his lap. He tries to grab the writhing, thrashing animal with treble hooks in it's ace, but his hands are being shredded. The hooks impale and rip out o the lesh o his hands repeatedly while I'm hammering the ish's head with the plyers. Finally, it tears the hooks ree o my sons hands, breaks the line, and lips back into the lake. The day was done and so was my son's ability to sleep at night. He had nightmares or months. I considered therapy- his career as the next Roland Martin was over beore it started.

Tips: Lake level is up 3 or 4 eet with recent storms. Fish to 3 lbs were scattered on humps. I worked ast to cover these areas.

    Water Temp: lower

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Out here again- this time with my buddy Swimbait. Didn't provide him with much opportunity to practice his big ish crat. We experienced starter ailure ater our initial run to the rock planters. We were stuck on the trolling motor, and we might have squeaked out a 6lb limit- didn't measure the snakes we caught dragging inesse worms. Spooked one also, and Swimbait missed a quality ish on a spook. Most o the snakes we dragged were located in the mouth o creek channels between 25 and 35 t. Alot o these ish had some kind o ungus on thier heads and in thier mouths. Without the ability to run we were suprised by a couple we dragged on shallow lats moving to the next creek channel. They were healthy and those ish hit in less than 10 eet o water in what seemed like eatureless areas.
    City: El Dorado Hills

Tips: Last couple experiences where I committed to inesse techniques both here and Berryessa the result was the same: smaller ish. I've caught my share o quality ish on sissy baits, but i you can get on the ish with any kind o power ishing technique, you will catch larger ish.

Report: Launched at Brown's at about 8:00. Looked or a reaction bite with blades and ripbaits, but couldn't ind it. Fell back on the trusty (usually) splitshot. Partner up ront starts picks up a ew ish, but not me. I'd like to think it was because he got the ew ish that were there. Talked to a guy who was doing well dropshotting in 35-45 eet o water. Stuck with the splitshot and got one rat or my eorts. First time out since mid-august and things have deinitely changed. I the water keeps dropping this ast, I'm bound to ind some ish.
