Report: Started morning with top waters, caught 6 and missed a few more in the narrows, highlight of the morning was my 7 year old son hooking up with a 3 lbs. top water fish that hit on the way back into the water. "That was cool dad!" Fished Cottonwood area until mid afternoon. Saw a lot of big fish suspended around cover. Used mostly carolina rigged worms. Best 5 for boat was 20 lbs. a lot of quality fish.
Tips: Fish later into afternoon. Bite only got better. To bad we had to go.

Water Temp: 58-61
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Arrived at the lake around 11:00 and found the temp to be about 58. Put the boat in and while waiting for my partner to park the truck had a fish on at the dock using a 5in. stick bait in silver/blk back. The same bait produced another 4 fish with a bunch of short strikers barely missed. Lake appears to be in prespawn with some smaller male fish moving in and out of the shallows. The best bite was at the end of the day on a drop shot rig fished right on the dam (the structure) wall that produced many fish, with about a 2lb. spot being the biggest.
Tips: don't just sit there, go get 'em!

Report: Ater the irst cold ront o the year, the bite seemed to improve. Caught about 20 keepers between 1.5 and 2 lbs. Much better than the previous week. There is a reaction bite early, then dropshotted ater that. Most ish came on points between 15 and 35 eet. You can see ish on every point with your graph but you work hard to get them, still heavily eeding on shad and not very committal to baits, but getting better.

Report: SLOW FISHING THIS TIME OF YEAR SINCE THE BLACKS ARE ONLY SHOWING UP IN OPEN WATER CHASING SHAD SCHOOLS AND WONT TOUGH A RIP BAIT OR FALLING GRUB. THE SPOTS ARE ACTIVE MAINLY IN THE EARLY MORNING 20+ FEET WITH NOT A THING ANYWHERE NEAR THE BANKS AND THEY MOVE DOWN TO 35 FT. AND HANGING ON THE BOTTOM ON MAIN LAKE HUMPS OR ROCK PILES RELATING TO THE RAILROAD BED. I DID MANAGED TO CATCH A 3 LB SPOT ON A RIP BAIT FIRST THING IN THE MORNING UP RIVER OFF THE ROCK PILES, THE BIG BOY HAD TO BE SUSPENDED AS HE HAMMERED IT HALF WAY BACK TO THE BOAT. REALLY NICE FISH AND FAT AS CAN BE. SHAD ARE ONLY ABOUT 2-3" BUT THE SPOTS ARE FULL OF THEM RIGHT NOW. AFTER THE SUN GETS ON THE WATER IT'S DROP SHOTTING OR SPLIT SHOTTING SHAD PATTERN 4" PLASTICS IN 20-35' REMEMBER THE RAILROAD BED THING AT 35' WHEN IT GETS DEAD FROM THE BANK BACK TO THE BOATTHEY ARE ALL OVER THE TV SCREEN 20-35'AND ARE RIGHT ON THE BOTTOM. Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Started in the back end o Cottonwood. Fish were active close to the bank. Started with pumpkinseed luke, with no takers. Switched to Rico popper and caught 9 beore 0730. Five o the nine were over the slot with the big ish 18 inches. The rest were in the slot, except or one that was below. Fished Temperance with indierent success ater the surace bite aded, still caught 3 slot ish there.
City: ModestoTips: The water is rising, so be careul o loating wood. Tight to shore the grass is bothersome. My most eective lure was a Rio Rico in gray and silver. I tried a couple o walking lures, but they didn't seem to be what the ish were keyed on and only caught two small ish on them.Ater the surace bite stopped, 082 worms, splitshot, were good.
