  • Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Lake Oroville has come up 22 feet in the last 8 days to 46% of capacity. Fish have to be mixed up, confused with that much of an increase. That one heck of a lot of water.

  • Water Temp: 50

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Today I fished with Sunny from 7am to 10:30 am. Wow, lake sure looks different with the rise of water from the last rains. Best guess is it's up 12 feet maybe more. Cool and windy, water dirty and not looking good as it used to. Today we managed 12 fish, with Sunny catching the bulk of them, with one right at 15" or so. Most fish the basic 13-14" size. Sunny, your one darn good fisherman, think you could teach me a lot about catching spots. Thanks for fishing with me.

  • Water Temp: 52

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Damn, i went fishing again today at Lake Oroville, from 7 am to 10:30 am. Nice day on the lake with an improving bite. Water temp up to 52 degrees, about a degree a week right now. Once we get into the 60 plus range, bite will be wide open. Better count, got 13 spotted bass with finally one at the 15" range. All other fish 13-14 inch. Water still coming up, even though no rain for quite a while. Getting rain tomorrow to Monday, with estimated 4-10 inch depending where one lives. This should give the lake a little boost of water.

Report: Short trip today fishing the end of the west fork. Tossed worms from 7 am to 10 am and managed to catch just 6 spots. Odd thing all were clones to one another, right at 14 1/2" and taken in one 40 foot section of the lake. All fish taken 30foot down, deeper then may last trip.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Bite was a tad better today while fishing in the west fork area or lime saddle area. Got on the water early today, and fished from 7am to 10:30am and managed to catch 13 spotted bass, with two that went 14 1/2". No good size ones today. Warmest day I have had in months today, nice not freezing when fishing. News said the lake is down 135 feet right now. Long way to go for full pool, don't think we'll get even close. Work baits slow and be ready for that super light bite.

  • Water Temp: 50

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went out today with Clark for a half day of fish. Burr, still cold, but now foggy! can't seem to pick a good day. We managed to catch 7 fish, 6 spotted bass and Clark got a silver salmon (coho) not a big one but decent at about 16-18" or so. Slow bite, ever so slow. At least the water temp came up a degree from last trip. Come on spring, tired of winter bite.

  • Water Temp: 49 +

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out for 3 1/2 hours and got cold, damn wind blowing like hell. Hard to hold the boat steady at most fishing locations. I hate days like this, and seems the fish did too. I got 2 spots, both a tad shy of 15" and that was it for me. Went home with my ego dragging, still dragging a day later. It's supposed to get colder!, maybe go next Monday if it warms any. Saw very few fish on the fish finder, where did they go?

Tips: Dress for cold and wind.

  • Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished today from 8am to noon. Went to the end of the west fork mostly to see what it looked like, not much water, mostly barren slopes. Slow bite, got 7 spots tossing worms working them slow. Largest right at 15", other basic fish at 13-14" or so. Most fish taken in 25-30 foot of water. Not going in this area again for a long time. Back to north fork for me.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched a lime saddle, ramp was good. Very long walk to you parked rig. 29 degrees at 8am, warmed up to 41 degrees at 4pm. Frozen was the word of the day for the fisherman. Never got any good fish, caught 30 + fish. Bite was way off. Fished the west branch and north fork, saw quite a few boats. need warm weather to get the bite jumped started.

Tips: dress warm, including warm shoes.

  • Water Temp: 49

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: BURR, sure was cold fishing today. One heck of a windy day on the lake. Tried my new pants, bomber hat, gloves, which made it ok fishing for me. Slow bite, fished mostly the lime saddle marina area and half way to north fork. Tossed worms and managed just 8 spots, largest right at 14 1/2 inch, all other the basic 13" size. Most fish looked good, getting fat from just hanging out watching us fishing fools try to catch them. All my fish were 25 to 30 foot down, other then one at about 15 foot mark. Hope the winds let up for better fishing this next week.

  • Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished today for a half day. Interesting, got going and the fog bank rolled in big time going to the north fork. No idea where shore was in the beginning. Finally found shore, putted along slow, worried about hitting another boat or wood. Anyway, got 12 spotted bass, best one at 15 inches, and a new record, caught my smallest fish at barely 4 1/2-5 inches, tiny small mouth bass, good bait size. Most fish 12-14 inches.
    City: Magalia

Tips: Look out for the wood, lots of smaller wood, but logs showing up now.

  • Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished today for the morning, one shitty day for me. Water darn near muddy in many places, stained everywhere. Spillway launch closed, guess it's because Bidwel has water up to the concrete ramp now. I couldn't get much going, shallow, medium or deep. Got 2 spots, both about 13", taken in about 10-15 foot mark. Nice day, just no fish for me. More wood today, be careful, some fair size logs now. Hope next week is better.

  • Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Tossed worms today from 8am to 11am, short trip, but well worth it. Dirty water had me thinking, no fish today, but I ended up catching 14 fish, 1 nice 17 1/2" small mouth, spots one at 16 1/2", 3 15", with the rest about 13-14" Best 5 fish right about 10.5 pounds. Just about all fish taken at 25-30 foot mark, none shallow, nor any over 35 foot mark. Water came up over 10 feet in the last couple weeks making the walk up the ramp a tad better for this old man. Ramp is much better now that water is getting to the packed gravel. Floating wood beginning to appear since the rains started 2 weeks ago.

  • Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Tossed worms today from about 8am to noon and to my surprise a fair fishing day. Managed to catch 16 spotted bass with a few smallies mixed in. Most fish 25-35 feet down, some even at 40 foot. Caught nothing less then 25 feet. To my surprise, got a nice fat 8 pound catfish that had me thinking I had the toad we all look to catch. It was the most talking catfish I ever caught, croaked the whole time out of the water. Hooked it about 35 feet down. Bite was very light, so light that I never felt much at all, other then the rod load up letting me know fish were in the mood. Ramp looking great this trip, seems they understand they need to work it now and then to keep it safe. Hurry up rains, need water. More trees being exposed
    City: Magalia

Tips: Work it slow and look for that ever so slight bump. Fish deeper then your used too, better fishing deeper.

  • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Did a little fishing today at Lake Oroville from 8am to 11:15 am. Not a great bite today. Managed to catch just 9 spotted bass with the largest right at 15", all others the basic 13-14 inch range. Fish were caught mostly about 30 foot or so, Other fisherman said slow for them too.!! Storm coming in with rain tomorrow, so the changing low pressure probably messed the bite up.
    City: Magalia

Tips: Anyone with a boat looking for a fishing partner, then let me know and lets go fishing. Email me at [email protected] No boat, then lets take my small 14 ft Klamath, small, no room, rough ride and slow, but it catches fish.

  • Water Temp: 62

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Tossed worms today with Jeff, weird start. Going to meet at Bidwell, to our surprise, ramp was closed, so went to the spillway to launch. Finally got on the water a tad past 8am, hit a point fairly close to the launch ramp and got a few spots, 30 foot or so down. Wind blowing pretty good, so left to fish a spot without the blow. Fished a steep bank and got 6-8 fish, maybe more, again most fish around the 30 foot mark. Left to another point and got more fish, same, about 30-35 foot mark. Left to fish our first point going in and got a few more. No big fish, top mark about 14 1/2", most looking fat. We ended up with 21 fish for our half day trip. They were trying to fix the ramp up when we got back, laying gravel, getting the mud gone. Should last a few days!!
    City: Magalia

Tips: When you find fish, stay on that location and give it a chance for more fish. Fish deeper and slower this time of year. We have not fished less then 25 feet down these days. Today we used Carolina rigs with no noise maker, just weight and bobber stoppers. Me, I like to fish straight down, less hang ups.
