  • Water Temp: 78

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Damn, the water looked like crap today. Guess all the pre-holiday wake board boaters had fun, the water looks ugly. Bad day fishing for me. Got 19 fish total. 10 spots, largest 14", 3 largemouth, largest 13", 3 small mouth, largest 12", 2 catfish, both about 1 1/2 pounds. Super slow bite, tried shallow, tried deep, nothing seemed to make a difference. All old honey holes gave up very few fish. Darn hot, hard to fish past 10 am and then the heat begins when you take the boat off the lake!!!! Hope it cools one of these days.

  • Water Temp: 76

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Today was windy day, blew a good one and really never let up. Fished with nightcrawlers again and ended up with 35 fish, last fish at the dock. Fish were harder to get today in the wind, bite off, or maybe me?? Two fish just a fraction short of 15", 2 14 1/2" with the rest 10-14". I did get another catfish, smaller, about 2-3 pounds. These cats hit hard when they decide to eat.
    City: Magalia

Tips: Anyone with a boat looking for a fish partner, let me know, lets go get some spots. Email me at [email protected] Then again, no boat, lets take my small boat out.

  • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Did a live bait trip today, launched at lime Saddle and fished till 10 am in the north fork. Amazing what a small nightcrawler can do. Every single cast had a hit with most a hook up. Guys, there are so many fish around it's crazy. Landed over 50 fish, with 2 15" spots, 2 14" spots, the rest 14" to 8", average about 13" Also got 2 5 pound catfish. Toss a few light carolina rigs with live baits and you'll be amazed at how many fish are in the water.
    City: Magalia

Tips: Live bait catches 10 times as many fish. Try it once and be amazed.

  • Water Temp: ??

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished the north fork this morning, tossing worms. Lost count of fish at 27, yet fished another 2 hours. Guessing 35-40 fish total. I'll count better next trip. Managed a couple nice ones, one 15" and 3 14 1/2" with the rest ranging from 10-14", most about 13". Most fish in 15-25 feet of water, didn't try fishing deeper. Bite darn near died after 10:30 am, so do your fishing early. My best guess, Lime Saddle will close in about 30 days due to dropping water. It's down to where it begins the turn so another 20 feet or so and it's out of concrete ramp.

  • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went out today with James and had a blast catching spots. Lost count, best guess 35-45 fish for us, stopped fishing at 11 am. Most small, with a couple in the 14 1/2" and one right about 15" range on a green 3" wacky senko. Most fish 10-14" or so, didn't actually measure them today, no ruler. Lots of fish less then 10", those tiny dinks that mess with you during the summer. Hooked a small fish, about 8" and on the way up a Big spot (3LB?)was chasing it, turned away when it saw the boat. Great day James, thanks.

  • Water Temp: 75-76.2

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went out today in what was going to be record heat for this time of the year with the mercury hitting triple digits. Fished the Middle arm from 6am to 12:30pm with a lot of bites. Caught over 50 fish but all fish small. Largest fish for me today was 1.7lbs. All fish caught on plastic worms in about 10 feet. Nothing came deep for me today.

Tips: Nothing big but it was a blast fishing. Now is a great time to take a kid fishing and get them hooked on fishing. Good Luck. All bites came on brown worms.

  • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished today in the north fork till about 10:30 am, stopped due to heat!! Smaller fish today for some reason, managed 38 fish, with one 16" on a senko last thing, 1 15" and 2 other 14 1/2", one 14" smallie, with the rest 10-14". Darn near all banks still holding fish, with points and coves holding many fish. Found one area with extra clear water and full of spawning beds, and fish on the beds, guessing 6-8 beds in 6-8 foot of water. Cool seeing all those moon like craters with fish in the middle. Left those fish alone. Small 3" green senkos the best bait today.
    City: Magalia

Tips: Find bait, or suspended fish and you will catch fish. Small baits best right now, me, no larger the 4.5" or smaller is the trick right now. Fish in 5 feet to 30 feet right now, most in 10-20 feet.

    Water Temp: 72-76

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Caught fish cranking medium deep runners late in the day or early in the morning. Switched over to drop shottin robo worms when sun coming up. Wife and I caught mostly 8"-13" with a few going 14"-15". Could not get the 6" worms to work. It was all 4".

Tips: Find the bait, find the fish. Coves/Points where we found a ton of bait was best for us.

  • Water Temp: Didn't look

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Great trip today for Dana and I. We fished the north fork, stopped fishing at 10:30 am, getting hot. We managed a total of 58 fish, mixed bag of spots, catfish, blue gill, small mouth. Largest spot at 16 1/2", a couple at 15" with the rest of the spots 10-14 1/2". One catfish at a couple pounds, a couple 3/4 pound sun fish (blue gill) nice big fat size, like a plate. Guessing 12 plus small mouth, from 6" to the largest at 13" Tossed worms, just a couple wacky Senko fish.
    City: Magalia

Tips: Anyone with a boat looking for a fish partner?? let me know and lets go catch some spots. Email me at [email protected] and lets do some fishing. No boat, then lets take my little 14 ft Klamath out and get some fish.

  • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished for a few hours in the north fork today, left for the docks about 10:30 am. Nice calm day, so when the wind calmed down, tossed senkos and put my Texas rig away. I'm guessing half my fish were on senkos. Managed 21 fish with only 2 at 15", the rest 14 1/2 down to 10". Many more small fish today for some reason. I have been seeing lots of fish fry nearly every place I go.
    City: Magalia

Tips: If you find fish, then work that area for a while before moving on. Sometimes 3-5 fish can be taken before they really get spooked.

Tuesday, May 27th, 2014

  • Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I did a short trip today, off the water at 10:30 am. First I was amazed at how stained the water was from the holiday boat traffic, dirty like it had rained a good one. Tossed roboworms and got 23 fish total. Another catfish at 6 pounds. I'm guessing they must be in spawn or something, the last 3 trips got a catfish. 1 16" spot, 1 15" spot, one 14 1/2" small mouth with nice bronze like color. Smallest fish a 6" small mouth who thought he was 16". Most fish in 10-25 feet of water, with a couple down at 30 feet.
    City: Magalia

Tips: Anyone with a boat looking for a fish partner, let me know and lets gets some spotted bass. Email me at [email protected] and lets catch fish. No boat, then lets take my 14 foot Klamath.

  • Water Temp: forgot to look

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Launched at Lime saddle and went strait to north fork to fish. Slower day, ended up with 18 spots, 2 16", 2 15", 1 14 1/2" with the rest 10-14". Fish not where they used to be, so moved on to other locations. Fish are a tad deeper, 15-25 feet for most. Roboworms in dark colors worked well today, brown shades my favorite. Not a single bite after 10am, fished till 10:30 and then gave up and called it a day. Besides it was getting HOT on the water.

  • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished a half day today, launched at Lime saddle, off the lake about noon. Bite has slowed down a tad, all fish caught today have spawned and are thin now, no fat bellies. the males all have tails frayed a tad and side of face scrapped from bed making. Managed 26 fish today, 3 right at 15" all the rest 14 1/2 to 12". More smaller fish caught today then last trip. Also got a 9 pound catfish, that had me thinking I had a giant spot hog, only to be a catfish. Darn thing took about 15 minutes to land. Most colors worked today, I still like the brown shades, anything with brown works for me. Morning dawn worked well after 10 am.
    City: Magalia

Tips: Got me a little 14 ft Klamath, will be going out more from now on. Still, anyone with a boat looking for a fish partner, let me know, lets go catch some spots. Email me at [email protected] Guess, if you want to fish with me, let me know, got a spare seat for you.

  • Water Temp: Didn't look!!

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Launched at Lime Saddle at 6 am, fished till 10:30 am. Went to north fork and managed just 29 fish, 3 right at 15", the rest ranging from 14 1/2" to 4", yep, got me a 4" small mouth that thought he was a 20" fish. The bait was bigger then the fish!! Water dropping now, down about 5 feet from our high a few weeks ago. Get ready, water will be a record low this year. I found an area full of small small mouth, most 10-13", ended up catch 6 or so in one location. They all thought they were big :>) Most fish from 5 to 30 feet deep.

  • Water Temp: 64

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished a half day today by my self, off the lake at noon. Launched at lime Saddle and boy was it windy the first couple hours. Fished points on the way to the North fork, picking up 6-7 fish, no large one. Fished the east side of north fork trying to get a buffer from the wind. Not as many suspended fish today for some reason, and fish tended to be smaller, not sure why. Managed a total of 37 spots on robo worms, fished in 5 to 30 feet of water. Only 2 15", 3 14 1/2", with the rest 12-14". Curly tail worked great today, think the tail action gets fish attention. Dark colors early, lighter as the sun got higher. Today a mix of Texas rigs and Carolina worked well. Saw a couple deer crossing the west fork, amazing how well they swim.
    City: Magalia

Tips: Try working the east side of north fork, where the west fork meets, going south towards the damn, lots of fish in that area. Coves and points holding lots of fish. Find unusual structure and you will find fish.

  • Water Temp: 63

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Dana and I gave it a try today for a half day in the north fork. We managed 55 fish today. A mix of spots, smallie, and one 5-6 pound catfish. We only got a couple keepers, 15" plus fish, with the bulk 13-14 1/2", along with 4-5 fish less then 12". Windy, great for spot fishing. We also picked upa few spots suspended at 10-15 feet in 100 foot of water. Don't overlook the suspended fish, they can be caught. Bite is wide open right now.
    City: Magalia

Tips: If you find suspended fish along the banks, then fish the bottom in that area, you'll get spots if you do. As always, if you own a boat and want a fish partner, let me know, lets go catch spots. Email me at [email protected]

Monday, May 5th, 2014

  • Water Temp: 63

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Jeff and I fished for a half day today and slayed the bass. We caught so many that we lost count eventually. For sure we had 40 spots, maybe near 50 range. About 6-7 in the keeper range, over 15" with a couple in the 16" range. Just about any bait and style works right now. If you find suspended fish, then fish the banks and catch spots. Seems colors didn't matter today. Guessing the great bite is full on for the next month or so. This is the time to fish this lake, so get out and catch spots.
    City: Magalia

Tips: Anyone with a boat looking for a fish partner?? let me know and lets catch fish. Email me at [email protected] I'm ready to go.

  • Water Temp: 63 to 66 depend

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Amazing fish day for Dana and I. We fished a half day and just killed them, not really, released all as always. We managed 50 spots today with a handful of small mouth. Largest a nice 17 1/2", about 3 1/2 pounds. A couple 16", a couple 15" and many in the 13-14 1/2" range. It was like every cast had a hit, we also missed many fish. We were doing wacky rigs, and targeted all the suspended fish off points early, then worked deeper as the sun got higher. Brown or one might say, natural looking worms were the hot ticket today. Fish from 5 feet to 25 feet, most suspended fish in the 15-20 foot range. Awesome bite in the north fork. We only worked once small section of shoreline today, no running around. Fishing is in full swing right now.
    City: Magalia

Tips: Anyone with a boat looking for a fish partner, let me know, lets go catch some spots. Email me at [email protected] Fishing is hot right now.

Today, got my first suspended fish off a point in 50-70 foot of water, fish hanging at 10-18 feet down. My new hummingbird dialed me in and away we went. Tossed worms out wacky style with spit shot with just enough line to sink to the fish below the boat at the 15 foot range. Damn, got 7 spots in the last hour. My first suspended fish!!!catch.
