Report: Been a while since I could talk anyone into fishing. Went out today with Dana. Nice day, windy early, but not too bad. Picked up spots on points, 25-40ft of water on drop shot roboworms. Largest a 15" smallie, all others 13-14" as a guess. We ended up with 13 spots total for the half day of fishing. Water still dropping, has to be close to 170ft down.

  • Water Temp: 75-78

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Just spent the entire week houseboating and fishing on oroville. We fished about 6 hours each day, 6am-9am and 4pm-sundown. While it did die off on saturday and sunday, the bite was pretty consistent. We caught about 1 fish per hour on spinners, topwater, and worms. Over half of the fish were taken with a shaky head or wacky dropshot worm. It's a very subtle pressure bite, so pay attention and set if the line feels heavy.

Last year during this trip the fish were small, but this year, over 70% of the fish we caught were slot fish, and all the fish on the worms were slot. Biggest fish were a 17" spot on a worm, a 15" largemouth on a worm, and 15" spot on slow rolled spinner.

The fish are full of little white minnows. Half the fish we caught were vomiting them up at the boat.

We found action all over the lake, South middle and north forks all produced. Just concentrate on points. Ignore the tress, unless they are on a point.

  • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Jeff and I fished today mostly main lake from about 6:30am to 11am. Started out a tad windy, as time went on wind died off. We ended up with 4-5 fish (can't remember for sure) with Jeff getting the largest, a nice fat 15" spot. Jeff did a bit of top water, missed one, no other takers. Fished mostly roboworms from shore to down about 25-30ft. Kind of a slow bite, but great fishing partner, good times. Thanks Jeff.

  • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Shore fished Lime Saddle from about 6am to 8am. Slow bite, got 3 spots, lost on as it tangled into a cable, just couldn't get it free, eventually the line broke. Fished Texas style, light 1/16oz, with curly tail roboworms, bold blue gill. Light weight lets you get past the rock working the bait back to shore. All fish were 13-14" as a guess, didn't measure any this trip.

  • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Launched at the spill way today, fishing with Joe. Fairly cool morning with heavy breeze right at the beginning of our fishing trip. Hard to hold the boat in position with this much wind. We fished the basic main lake body, points, and or any rocks we could find. I might have lost count, but together, we got about 8 spots, 3-4 over the 15" and one very close to 17", the rest the basic 12-14" size. Fished shaky heads, and spot removers, in 10-30ft of water, various worms and or grubs. Gave up fishing about 10:30am, just too windy. Thanks Joe, great trip.
