  • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Launched at Lime Saddle about 6:30 or so, began fishing around 7am, fishing points on the way to north fork. Got 2-3 spots second point, another 3 third point. Fished mostly the north fork, I ended up with 14 spots, one was a 14 1/2" small mouth. Also one 16" coho salmon, hooked right at 40ft on a robomorm!! go figure. I Fished with spot removers rigged with roboworms, Dana texas style, he got 5 spots. All typical size, no luck this trip with larger fish.

  • Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Launched at Lime Saddle today at 6:30 or so. Fishing about 7am to 11am. Fished on the way to North fork and North fork. I ended up with 11 spots, most 13-14 3/4 inch, just one nice one at 17", not as fat as the one I got last week. Guessing 2 3/4 pounds, because it was thinner then many this size. Got most of my fish on a stand up flat bottom shaky head, forgot the brand name. Fished in 25ft or deeper water. Think just a couple fish Texas rigged. Roboworms in the brown and tans colors worked for us. Dane got 4 fish, largest about 14 1/2", just shy of the old keeper rule, almost a winner. Clean looking water held fish, dirty water didn't.

  • Water Temp: 80-81

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: The lake sure has warmed up these days. West fork looks like a sick green pond when driving by on the way to Lime Saddle. Fished the North fork from about 6:45 to 11am. Hard to find fish, they must be very deep or suspended due to the hot water. Dana and I managed only 7 spots, but I managed one super nice 17" fish in about 30ft of water. Got her on a shaky head with roboworm. Guessing the fish was about 3 pounds or so. All other fish typical 13-14", one of them was a runt.10-12".

  • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Launched at lime saddle about 6:15am, headed to the middle fork, but got low on gas and decided to come back to the north fork. Long ways to west fork from lime saddle in a small boat. Ended up fishing north fork and way back to Lime Saddle, I ended up with 13 spots, with one nice 16 1/2". also got a 14 3/4" and 2 14 1/2" " with the rest 13-14" Seems fish were mostly 20-38 feet deep, larger ones deeper. Dana had his best trip ever with 1 spot!!!!
    City: Magalia

Tips: Fish deep and get fish even in bright light. Texas rigs, drop shots, both working well. We used earth tones in browns. (Roboworms)

  • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went out with Dana today and fished the west fork from 6:30am to 11am. Fish were deep, or maybe might say normal this time of year. Most fish caught 25-35 feet deep, fished roboworms, earthtones. Dana got 7 spots, me 8 spots. Most 13-14" or so, largest 14" Giving up on the west fork, bite was slow and hard to locate fish!! Next trip to north fork, has to be better then the west fork.

  • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went shore fishing at Lake Oroville yesterday at Lime Saddle. Thought I'd fish late from 5:30pm till dusk, about 8:30pm. Thought I could get away with fishing the docks since no one was around to kick me off, wrong!! About 7:45 the owner showed up, kicking me off, he had a cop wanna be attitude! Anyway, got 7 spotted bass, most 13-14" or so, forgot my ruler this trip. Calm water, but sun glare was a killer. Better fishing in the early mornings. Seems as if dock fishing is going to be hard not to get kicked off!!!

    Water Temp: 71

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Had a great time Saturday fishing from 6am to 3pm with a friend. Tried main body, middle fork and south fork. Action was by far the best in the middle. Between the two of us we boated nearly 60; nothing big, biggest was a 2-1 largemouth. I'm sure we would have caught more if we'd stayed in the middle fork. Most of mine came on jigs and dart heads in brown colors (red flake seemed to help), and my friend got a bunch on a dart headed white grub.
    City: Foresthill

Tips: Presentation was fairly slow, but the fish were aggressive and there were a lot of bites (and bitten-off worms). Have fun out there!

  • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished the west fork from about 6:30am off the water at noon. Water still dropping and bite off a tad. Fished seemed to be deeper then past weeks, most caught in 20-30ft of water. Dane got 2 spots, me 10 spots. No large fish, all 13-14", no dinks this trip except for one redeye at 12" All fish on tan colored roboworms fished Texas style. Light breeze most am, then about 11am that wind that Lunker Larry and I love showed up. to me an off day of fishing!! Seems the fish hate the dropping water levels.

  • Water Temp: 70-72

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Hey - I can do almost as many reports as Tom does - LOL! I took a father/daughter team on a donated 4 hr trip. He was a very senior citizen but still could put the bait out there! AND - he only catches largemouth! Yea - we only went a little ways up the north fork and he caught the 2 largies - one just under 15". She didn't do very well - missed some - but landed the ones I hooked. Bite was slow with the delta breeze (wind!) hampered their ability to feel any bites.

Tips: I've ALMOST had my fill of wind this spring. It only blows the day I am on the water. Anybody heard that excuse before??? Experienced bassmasters can handle it, but it is tough when trying to help folks on their first bass trip. We had a great time though! My client is probably saying - "hey - there are largemouth everywhere!"

  • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Launched about 6:30am at Lime Saddle and fished the west fork, off the lake just before noon. Great start, second fish 16". Dana got 8 spots, me 14 spots. Bite was great till about 10am then the wind blew hard and we couldn't get much going except for One I lost when he went under the boat, jumped and through the hook. Larger then the 16" for sure. Tried a few more location and gave up with the wind too hard to hold a boat for us. Fished roboworms in browns, Texas style. We had many jumper fish today, no idea why?

  • Water Temp: 69-74

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I had a wonderful guide trip with a father and two sons - 11 and 13! The boys caught bass before their dad did! We started about 6:30 am in the main body - fishing shady walls. After the sun got higher, we moved to the middle fork - my hangout this year! Bite was still good but the size suffered. Where was the big north wind that was predicted?? Finally - about 11 am - whitecaps! I put up the sail and let the Minn Kota guide us! The great wind bite was on and the size went up too. Dad even caught a 2 3/4 lb largemouth - already spawned out of course! We wound up with approx 60 bass - mostly over 13 inches and 5 or 6 over the old 15" slot. Watch out tournament folks - these boys are good!!

Tips: We should call this a Robo trip since we fished worms the whole trip. Senko bite didn't happen and it was just easier to have them Texas rig their worms. Our three best colors were MMIII, morning dawn/chartreuse tail (yes, the yellow tail is back!), and best of all during the wind - oxblood-red flake. They were on that worm in the afternoon!! In spite of the lake dropping, most of our bass were 5 to 25 feet deep. I saw lots of suspended fish on the meter. Summer must be close!

  • Water Temp: no idea

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Launched at Lime Saddle about 6:30am, fished to just a tad past noon. Great morning fishing. Dana got 15 spots, me 25 spots. Largest 15", many in the 14" range with a few in the 12-13" range. Seems fish size got larger this trip. Fished roboworms Texas style, fish found in 10ft to 25ft range. Saw one turtle out on a rock, had no idea turtles were in the lake. Found out the lake is dropping just shy of 1 foot a day, according to a fish and game lady doing a survey of caught fish by the ramp. At that rate, won't be much left after summer. .

  • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Launched about 7am, off the lake about noon. Fished from Lime Saddle to North fork, and 2 locations on North fork. A little slow for us for some reason. Dana got 2 spots, me 9 spots, biggest just a tad under 15". Darn hot, no wind at all, almost too smooth, no breeze to speak of and HOT!! Fished roboworms Texas style and Jika style. Next trip back to west fork, where we know better locations to fish. Lake down about 10ft now.

    Water Temp: 64-68

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Wife and I fished from 10-4:30. Not a breath of wind to start the day. Wifes 2nd fish a nice fat 16+ incher. Was a bit slow after that until wind picked up. By 4 o'clock I had 45 in the boat and she had around 15. Most fish in the 12-14 inch range but a few over 15. At 4:30 it was pouring rain and she was sitting under the canopy in our Procraft declaring it was time to get out of the lightning. It was an ocean heading back to Bidwell and we came across a couple in their Ranger about 3/4 of a mile out trying to make it back to ramp with their trolling motor as the big Merc was dead. Towed them back safely, but man was it rough out there with the waves pounding the ramp and dock.
All in all it was another great day on the Middle fork for us fishing whacky. Darker colors seemed to work better today under cloudy skies with most of our bigger fish coming right off shore.
    City: Reno

Tips: Fishing the windblown banks where the fish seem to be much more active.

  • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Launched at Lime saddle about 7am, off the lake around noon. Water level down a good 6 feet today and seemed to slow the bite just a tad. Dana got 7 spots, me 14 spots, largest a tad over 15". Had one double hook up, with twins a tad over 14". Overall an ok day, could have been better. Fish still a tad on the smaller side. Water super clear in certain areas, looks to be 15 feet or better. Fished Roboworks Texas style and Jika style. Both produced about the same. .

  • Water Temp: 64-69

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I did a half day trip with 2 local guys - fishing from 8:30 am to 1pm. As we drove over the spillway, I was surprised to see lots of water leaving the lake. Sure enough, I found the outflow was raised to 8000 CFS. That may have slowed the bite some, but we did ok. They were learning to fish Robo worms effectively and did fine, catching many up to near 15 inches. I caught a few on a Chug Bug in what shadows I could find. It will be interesting to see how the bite will be now that the lake is dropping. I imagine lots of bass will now change into their suspending summer patterns.

Tips: Unlike the previous report (congrats on a good trip!), our first 2 hrs were good and then the bite just died. Timing is everything!!

    Water Temp: 63-67

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Wife and I fishing today. Didn't think we would do well with the full moon and bluebird day but had a great time on Middle Fork. Fished from 10-5. 55+ for me (not counting dinks)fishing whacky. Biggest was 17" smally. Most spots in the 14-15" range with several over 16". All were super fat and healthy and tails looked healed post-spawn. Finally got the wife to try whacky Sticko(over texas rigged lizard) for the first time and she started catching fish. She missed a lot of hits with to sharp of a hook set, but got better at sweeping the rod as I coached her and she ended up with 11 in the boat, all hooked in the corner of mouth as they should be. I was so proud of her.
    City: Reno

Tips: Seems strange but the higher the sun was the better the fishing was. Biggest fish were right on shore in the middle of day. Breezy banks had fish active.

  • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Dana and I fished the west fork today from about 7:30am to 12:30pm. Bite seemed to be off for some reason, might have been the big moon the last few days. I ended up with only 11 spots, Dana 8 spots. Largest fish 15 1/2" fat girl. Overall the fish were small, 12-13" or so. Water clarity is awesome. Some locations it has to be 15 feet or more. Found one location super clear and maybe 50 spotted bass hanging by a rock. Only managed to catch 4-5 before they got spooked and we called it a day and left. Fished roboworms Texas style.

Ended up with one right at 15" and another at 16 1/2", both very close to shore. All on Roboworms Texas style. Brownish hues seemed better today. Not one bite on morning dawn!! do figure.
