Water Temp: 64-69
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I took a couple of clients out to learn about bass fishing. We had a great day starting with top water on the West Branch. We used Pop-r's and Zara Spooks. We then fished rocky walls on the West Branch with senko's when the wind was calm and gitzits when the wind picked up. We worked our way to the main body and up to the N. Fork. I should them sight fishing for bed fish and nailed a couple of nice bass in the 2lb plus range. We ended the day with 75 bass with 8 over the slot.
City: ParadiseTips: Rocky walls and points with slow falling senko's and tubes. Colors-pumpkin,watermelon,motor oil, clear sparkle, and craw.

Report: Took the Mrs. out this afternoon. It was quite wendy but a great day. We fished the West Branch and in 4 hours had 70 bass. We had 8 over. We used spinner baits, tubes, and drop shot.
City: ParadiseTips: We fished steep rocky walls with tubes working the best for us.

Water Temp: 72.3
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Made the three hour drive with my Son and his girlfriend to oroville. Launched at the spillway and headed up the north fork at 7 am. started off with Crankbaits and jerkbaits. got a few up there including a 3 # trout. Brown senkos and creatures seemed to work, but what worked the best all day were jerkbaits. Milk or clear colored jerkbaoits seem to be the ticket. Most fish were in the slot. some smallmouths, but mostly spots. My son and his girlfriend got about 20 fish between them, but spent the middle of the day just laying in the sun. I took 45 bass, about 8 over the slot limit.
City: brisbaneTips: work the rocky spots, but look for banks with steep drops even ones without rocks. the bigger fish came from unrocky banks. Work cranks and jerkbaits paralel to the banks.

Report: I had a couple of clients out today that hadn't fished for a while so I was hoping for a good day. We started out on the main body and worked our way up to the N Fork. We used senko's and tubes all day. They ended up with 60+ for the day with the largest being a 3.6lb large mouth. Senko's were the most productive both in pumpkin with green flake and watermelon and chartruse and the tubes in the motor oil and clear sparkle colors.
City: ParadiseTips: We fished rocky walls and points and mud lines and shade lines.

Report: What a difference a week makes! Lake is super dirty right now. Seems as though the weekend wakeboard guys have come out to play. Fished for a couple hours in the PM picking up nine. The normal stuff wasnt working so I started throwing a jig. This seemed to work decent but no where the action that was on the lake last week. Biggest spot went 3 1/2lbs. All were decent fish.
City: SacTips: Fish points a drop offs.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: First time I hit the lake in two weeks and boy what a day did I have. I started the day with a 4.4lb. Largemouth and followed it two casts later with a 2.8lb. spot. Both fish came on white fat free shad bombers. Later I swithced to a carolina rigged 6" Zoom lizard and really started to nail em. Bagged another 12 in an hour before I had to call it a day. Only fished for about two hours. Top five fish for the day went a little over 15lb. Best day I have had on the lake in several years
City: ParadiseTips: All fish caught near shore line anywhere from 2-6 feet deep.

Water Temp: 64 to69
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Today I took two clients out that are very good fisherman. We fished the North Fork from 7am to 2pm. Started out with top water action then went to tubes and senko's. By the end of the trip we had over 150 bass. Only 8 over with most of them in the uper bracket. They had an awsome day!
City: ParadiseTips: The pattern that worked the best was senko's on steep walls and breaks at 15 to 20 feet with 5
inch pumpkin and 4inch water melon with chartrouse.

Report: I took two guys out to learn about bass fishing. We used senko's,texas riged worms and tubes.By the end of the day they had 70 plus bass with only 4 over the slot. We fished the main body on rocky walls and points. Then moved up to the North Fork and fished walls and shade lines. They were both very excited about there day.
City: PardiseTips: We used pumkin senko's when the wind was not a factor.Texes riged worms produced the least amount of bass and the Gitits tubes produced the most in motot oil and clear sparkle colors. Most of the spots were post spawn and feeding on walls and points outside of coves.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I didn't know what to expect at the lake today with a cold front (good amount of wind) and 3 generations in the boat with me - 10 year old, dad, and grandpa! Well, when you least expect it - great things happen! The wind probably did help the bite and of all things - yes, the 10 year old got the biggest bass - an 18 1/8 inch spot, spawned out, about 2 1/2 lbs. Wow, was he thrilled (photo page on Sun)! We caught 34 bass - 7 over the slot! I really don't know our 5 five weight - maybe 11 1/2 to 12 lbs. I had taught the young boy how to cast on a previous trip and he is a pro now! And he can set the hook too! Dad probably caught the most - he started off slow and then we couldn't stop him! We started in the Bidwell Cove and then spent most of the day in the middle fork. We caught most of our bass on Robo worms with morning dawn starting out good but by 10 am Margarita Mutilator III was the color they wanted! We found some spawning bass in about 15 feet of water but couldn't see them well because of the wind. I tried drop-shotting a Basstrix flashtrix minnow and nailed two of them. We caught a few on #221 Senkos but the wind made that technique difficult. Texas-rigged 4 and 6 inch Robo and Power worms was all we needed to do. It is fun to spend the day with folks having a great time - I don't think the 10 year old every stopped smiling!!
City: Yuba CityTips: Because of the amount of people in the boat and the wind, no topwater or crankbaits were tried. I did test a new buzzbait with no success which didn't surprise me. The fish are hanged around flooded trees and clay banks with a nearby dropoff. We did catch some on points with worms but I am sure many were suspended on the points. If there wasn't so much wind, we would have thrown Senkos off points for suspended bass. I was a little surprised the bass wanted a dark colored worm during the brightest time of day. I fished blue and other light colors - they wern't interested! Bass were spitting up good-sized pond smelt - they are feeding!!

Water Temp: 64
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Got on the water at 7AM with Mike Salca owner of Butte Creek tackle and my 7 year old son Zachary. Light wind most of the day. (Whats new) Fished until 445pm. Fished with spider grubs and dart heas for awhile. I stayed with drop shot blue worms. In the PM we switched to senkos in the trout color and were fishing them wacky style weightless in trees or bushes that were in 15-25 feet water. We ended up with approx 50 fish. Two went over three pounds. We probably had 12.5 with our biggest five fish. My son Zack did not boat a fish. He was upset because the day before, we fished a farm pond near the buttes and he caught 24 fish with the biggest going 5 pounds. It is very interesting on a boat with a 7 year old for 10 hours. When I got home I had to hit the MGD to calm my nerves. I'll be needing to restock by drop shot weights and hooks. It seemed like he could not stay out of the rocks(Including the ones on the bank). He had a good time. He would fish every day if he could. Thank you Mike Salca for trip.
City: MagaliaTips: Hit the trees in deep water. Use senkos. Take a kid fishing when ever you can. It will be a merory they will never forget.

Report: Guys we dont need to fight amongst ourselves, there are enough people wanting to stop our sport fishing...Keeping a bass or two (above or below slot limit) every so often is not a sin..practice catch and release most of the time..empoundments can only hold so many fish of certain sizes...lighten up a little...my two cents....Pappy

Report: Although I am not as well hung as TomE (who taught me how to fish this lake), we managed to boat a few dozen fish a piece each day we fished from 4-18 thru 4-21. Used the Oroville Fly up tight to the bank. If you were 10 ft off the bank, they would not hit.
City: PleasantonTips: Make frineds with TomE!

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I used some of the tips and suggestions you guys had for me. I went and bought some senko watermelon black flake worms. the fish were not really biting and I lost about 5 of them suckers but eventually I got a 14 inch bass, not to big but it was pretty exciting to get the first fish of the day. they stopped biting that where we were and were devouring our night crawlers so i swapped up and we walked away with 5 that day in about a hour or so of fishing.
but the tips helped a lot.
thanks again for helping me out, i really do appreciate it.

Water Temp: 59-62
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Off the chart fishing as usual this time of year. I don't know how not to catch fish in this lake. Has to be the most fertile, healthy lake in California. In three days the four of us caught and released 372 spotted bass with about 35 over the slot. (Last year we had 552 for three days). Biggest went 17 inches. This is a fun lake. Carolina rigged morning dawn worms from 2' down to 25 '. Also spinner baits from time to time. Others were throwing jigs and catching them too.
Tips: Fish were everywhere. Trees are always holding fish. Waterfalls also. Steep rocky banks. Everywhere we went we caught fish. Shold only get better as the water warms.
