City: ParadiseTips: The tube bite came from points and walls 2-20ft. The crank bite came from 1-5ft on points, rocky walls and gravel walls.

Water Temp: 72-76
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Sunday I took two brothers out. Being that it was Sunday and the week before school, I was hopeing that it wouldn't be too crazy out there. As it was we didn't have much traffic until 12 noon. We started out with top water pop-r,s and flukes. The guys could not believe the feeding frenzy that was happening. That bite was on from 6:30 to 8am. We then went to the banks throwing tubes. This was a new technique for them as they missed a lot of bites, but still boated 72 nice spots. They were pretty excited about the day with 10 over and 4 over 16 inches.
City: ParadiseTips: For top water action, throw close to the bank on points and coves and look for feeding fish out in the open water. On the banks, the points and walls produced bites from 1 to 15 feet. Look for the shadows on rocks for your targets. The clear sparkle gitzits produced the most bites.

Water Temp: 73-76
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I took a couple of guys out today that wanted to learn how to catch bass. As in the past mornings, we started with top water pop-r's. The bass were all over them up to 16+ inches. We also used flukes and spooks all producing bass. As I was showing them how to use a spook, believe it or not, a 10# squaw fish slamed it right at the boat. What a suprise. We then started fishing with tubes on the banks and they caught one after another. Over 80 bass in a half day, the guys were pretty excited. We had about 10 bass over 15 inches and 2 over 16 inches with several double hook ups.
City: ParadiseTips: Any shad color pop-r's,spooks or flukes are working well in the morning. The tube that produced the best this monring was the clear sparkle gitzit.

Water Temp: 73-78
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: With the high pressure system coming in this day, I thiught it might be one of those blue bird days. It turn out to be an outstanding day. I took out a prety good fisherman and started with some top water pop-r's in the North Fork. The blow ups seemed to be a litte short so we went to senkos and flukes in shad colores and what a difference. We boated about 15 bass with two over before the bite tapored off. We then went to the banks and covered a lot of shore line. We threw tubes, jigs, blades, lipless crank, and drop shot. Everything was working. With 80+ bass and 15 over the biggest being 2.72/lb we called it a day.
City: ParadiseTips: With top water action there is more than one way to catch them. Try senko's and flukes. Keep moving on the bank and try different things. Bass were 1 to 30 feet. We fished rocky walls, flats and mud lines.

Water Temp: 74-79
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: The Thusdday night tournament this week drew about 12 boats. Blast off was at 5:15pm and over at 8:45pm. The bite consisted of shacky head worms,Texas riged worms, crank baits, tubes, jigs, and top water. The winning bass was 17+ inches. Most of our bass came on crank baits with one bass near 3# spliting my spinner bait in half on an awesome leap air borne. The most exciting moments last night came from a point on the North Fork when we started throwing spooks. In a period of 10 to 15 minutes we hooked 6 bass and missed another 6 blow ups. The two largest being 16-1/4" spot and a 16" large mouth.
City: ParadiseTips: We keyed on mud lines and rocky walls and points for top water. Most of the crank baits were shad colores and with chartreuse and the spooks were white and blue and shad color. The bite was shallow from 1ft. to 15ft. The top water bite was just inches from the bank to 15 feet out.

Water Temp: 74-78+
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I picked up a father and two sons off their house boat today and wondering how the full moon would affect the bite for the day. As it was the morning top water bite was still strong. About 20+ blow-ups and about 10 hooked with 2 bass on one Pop-r. The top water lasted till about 8am. We then threw tubes on shade lines up the North Fork, and caught some nice bass. I wanted to show my clients the mud line bite so we headed for the main body to throw some lipless crank bait. The mud lines had just started to form so the bite was just starting. With a total of about 30 bass it was time to go in for the morning.
City: ParadiseTips: Top water in the morning, fish shade lines and mud lines.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I spent July 16-19 on the lake in a houseboat. The fishing was awesome! Most fish were right on the bank, or within 10 feet of it. I only needed 2 rods...one for a blade and the other for a spook. I caught fish on other baits, but the best quality and quantity came from those two baits. I spent less than 10 hours fishing over those four days and probably caught over 60 fish. The thing that most impressed me was the amount of largemouth I caught during this trip and this time of year. I had three LMs over 3 lbs. plus a few others. Had a blast! The Oroville bass were fighting hard...
City: RocklinTips: Take the kids fishing

Water Temp: 74-78
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished a half day with a 12 year old boy. We started with top water action as the bass around Lime Saddle were everywhere. We caught a few bass in the bracket and then moved to the bank to try some drop shot and tubes. Caught a few more as we worked out to the main body. The wind was increasing so we started to throw some lipless crank bait. That started a power fishing expereince. We ended up with 75+ bass by 12:00 and there was no sign of the bite slowing. All bass were in the bracket with 6 at 15+.
City: ParadiseTips: When we started the lipless crank bait, we looked for mud lines to fish. Most of the bass came from 1 to 10 feet deep. Colors ranged from shad colores to blues and chartruse.

Water Temp: 68-74
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I had a great opportunity today to take out two daughters and their Dad. They booked a trip for their Dad for Fathers Day and today was the day. As I've been doing lately in this Summer bite, we started out with top water (pop-r's). This morning the bait fish were not out in the open water, but were against the banks. With a good 15 or so blow-ups they landed 8 Spots, one being about 16 inches and the rest in the bracket. After the sun hit the water we started with Gitizts. They had about 8 more bracket fish with the tubes. As it was nearing time to go,we through some rattle-traps in the mud lines for 2 more spots. For just learning to bass fish they did real good with 20 bass.
City: ParadiseTips: Take advantage of the top water action with either pop-r's or spooks first thing in the morning and evening til dark. As the sun hits the water start fishing deeper with tubes, worms or jigs and drop-shots. Anything in the shad colores and brown has been working.

Report: Killed the bass this last weekend, monday and this morning. Nothing but crankbaits along the mud line. Deep divers. light colored baits worked best.I actually did much better when I had that mud line to fish, when the ski boats left it slowed down a bit. Thats strange to me.
City: chicoTips: Hey scott! I'm lookin to catch some cats this weekend and I was wondering what boat ramp you guys were on? Was it Lunt road? thanks!

Water Temp: 73-78
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I took a couple and their 10yr old grandson out today. We started this morning again with top water pop-r's. They caught about 12 on top water before moving to the bank. Switching to tubes the bite was on as they focused on the shade lines and inside points. We then looked for incoming water and found lots of nice bass taking the tubes. Our next stop was mud lines useing rattle traps in the shad colors. They were pretty excited with 50+ bass with 6 over and 1 salmon for the day. It was great watching the grandson get more and more confidence the more fish he caught.
City: ParadiseTips: Early morning look for top water action and throw pop-r's or spooks. Look for shade and mud lines and throw tubes

Report: I took a mother and son out today who were learing how to fish for bass. We started out with pop-r's in the North Fork. After learning timeing on the top water action they started catching bass. We then started fishing the shade lines on walls and dark side of rocks with tubes to catch more bass. With only a 1/2 day to fish, they did pretty good with around 20 bass all in the slot.
City: ParadiseTips: early morning top water with pop-r's and tubes in clear sparkle and motor oil colors on shade lines

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: For a change of the norm....get to the lake and go cat fishing. A buddy and I wanted to switch things up for friday the 13th so out came the big poles, treble hooks, chicken liver and chairs. I have lived here in Paradise most of my 33 years and have fished this lake for cats every year. we haven't caught fish like this since the days of the drought. For those of you who remember how this lake used to put out catfish back then, you know what I'm saying. It took a grand total of 2 minutes to get our first fish. 2 MINUTES! it never slowed down. I'm serious, I had a hard time getting to the cooler for a beer, it was non-stop. 2 guys 4 poles over 25 cats. we took 9 home (all 9 between 2lbs and 5 lbs) our smallest fish of the night went 1.10 lbs our biggest went 8.9 lbs.
City: ParadiseTips: we were fishing on a boat ramp. My buddy would cast as far out on the ramp as he could, I was fishing on the edge of the ramp where it dropped down to about 15-20 feet of water. Chicken livers and cut baits, and a hook, That's it.

Water Temp: 80
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: We fished the Thursday nite tournament out of Lime Saddle and congratulations to Jimmy and his dad. That was an awsome fish. Guess we would have been 3rd best with a 17 and a half. We fished north as well but with not as much luck. Our best fish came late using a Bass Patrol jig in brown/purple and matching trailer. And we agree, darker colors are working best in off color water.
City: ParadiseTips: Besides the jig we caught some on a home made senko in black with blue flake and hula grubs. Fish were right on the bank. A gentleman we met in the parking lot said he caught 21 with 3 over fishing all day in the sun, so if you can stand it you can probably get bit most anywhere. Rocks near the bank are starting to show now so be aware.

Water Temp: 73+ to 78+
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I had been out of town for about two weeks and was amazed to see the water level down almost 15 feet. We started out from Lime Saddle around 7 am. to see bass slamming minows at the surface. We stared throwing spooks and catching bass right away. We then moved to the North Fork thowing every thing from tubes, drop shot, spooks, rattle traps, spinner baits and senkos. By 1:30 we had over 80 bass with around 12 over. Largest of the day at 17 1/2 inches came on a spook.
City: ParadiseTips: Look for active minows and throw topwater or senkos at them. Start at the bank with blades and crank baits and work into deeper water with tubes and drop shots then drag jigs on the bottom. Look for shade and mud lines.

Water Temp: 75
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the Thursday nite tournament out of Lime Saddle with just a handfull of boats showing up. Probably because of the holiday and of course the heat. Fished all the shade we could find and caught good fish dart heading a pearl/blue worm I make and flukes in pearl white. There was a jig bite late. My son caught the winner on the worm (17"). Promised the girls at work I'd buy lunch if we won and I'll honor that today.
City: ParadiseTips: Find the shade and you will find the fish and its a lot cooler as well. If your fishing still water put some action on the bait and they'll climb right on. Come on out on Thursdays, its a lot of fun.

Water Temp: 76-80 F
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched at the spillway 6 am and fished til 7 pm. Started the day off in the west branch and made our way into the north fork. I was drop shotting robo worms with minimal luck. My partner was throwing his kalins grub with some luck. Stayed with the same pattern til about 1 pm. We ended up going into the middle fork and I started throwing my favorite jig with a cinnamon blue fleck yamamoto trailor and started to nail them. We ended up catching about 40 fish all day with a couple nice 3lb spots. Seemed like all the bigger fish wanted that jig.
City: RosevilleTips: Every nothing bank that had a rock pile seemed to produce, wish I had figured that earlier in the day.
