Report: Man we wacked'em fish are all over the bank. This weekend when the storm moves in the fish will more than likley be in the first 10 feet of water. We got over 50 fish today all on drop shot in 15 feet of water. Are top five were about 13 pounds. I havent done this well since the spring.
    City: yuba

Tips: Color matters. We started tossing arons magic, nothing. Oxblood no good. The ticket was stait brown no other color. Cant wait till we get some rain. The lake is real low. The fish are starting to lose there red spots.

    Water Temp: 60

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Anybody on here fish the Bass Busters of Yuba City tournament last Saturday and if so, wondering what it took to win? We had just 7 pounds on a tough bite most coming on a 3" Kalin pearl white grubs rigged on a dart head. Launched at Bidwell on a cement ramp but dirt parking lot. The dam may be closed. Best launch now I think is Lime Saddle if you don't mind that heart pumping walk up the ramp.
    City: Paradise

Tips: It was a full moon and that didn't help. We fished as much moving water as possible to scrounge what we did. White seemed to be the color. My son caught 2 small ones on the 6" Basstrix tube minnow.

    Water Temp: 59-62

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: I took my father-in-law out Thursday. It was another beautiful day on the lake and fishing with my father-in-law is always an adventure. We seemed to always find something to talk about each trip and those trips started back when I was just 12 years old. We ended up with about 40 bass for the day all but 2 in the bracket. The bass seemed to be scatterd all over the lake. From suspened schools to feeding on the banks. It was good to see lots of bait fish still cruising around. The feeding bass were from 1 ft. to 25-30ft.
    City: Paradise

Tips: The two most productive patterns were drop-shot and tubes. The best color for the drop shot for the day was morning dawn and clear sparkle Gitzit for the tube.

    Water Temp: 59-62

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: For the last week and a half I've been concentrating on the Delta, what a great fishery. Although I thought it was awesome down there it was good to be back on my home lake again. Today I took out a couple of young military vets. It was great to have a lot of laughs with these guys. The moon was almost full last night so I knew the morning bite would be just a little bit better than the afternoon. We fished just half a day and had around 20 bass with 6 over.
    City: Paradise

Tips: Since it was a short day, I did not try a lot of different things, just tubes. I knew they would work and they did. Clear sparkle color Gitzit is a go to lure. From 1 ft. to 30 ft.

    Water Temp: 55-64

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Took a good fisherman out Wed. I was concerned about the air pressure going up and down and back up in just 2 days. We fished half a day from noon to 5pm. The bite was very soft to nil for about 3 hours. The last 2 hours was much more productive with 35 bass, but all were in the bracket. Water temps were in the low to mid 60's but droped to 55 in the incoming water of the West Branch and the North Fork. The bite should pick up as the air pressure stablizes.
    City: Paradise

Tips: We were on lots of fish but had to keep moving to find feeding bass. Found them on outside walls and points from 1ft to 30ft. Most effective was Gitzit tubes clear sparkle and motor oil colors.

    Water Temp: 58-61

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I took a couple of great guys out Monday who I've had out before. The lake is still droping and is now about 165 ft. down. We found lots of bass in the West Branch and in the main body. Only two over in their half day. The bite was a bit soft but they took bass on a variety of baits. Jigs, texas worms, drop shot and senko's and all in several colors.
    City: Paradise

Tips: Start up close to the bank in the morning and work your way out deeper as the day progresses. Fish rocky banks, points, steep walls, and shade lines. The lake is getting clear again except for the main river branchs. They have a lot of sedament churning in them.

    Water Temp: 62-64

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: I took a good friend and fisherman out today hoping that the change in pressure and full moon would not effect the bite too much. It was a little soft however we did manage to boat 26 with 3 over. We hit lots of spots on the lake. West Branch, North Fork and main body. Although we didn't get a lot of bass we did get them on a variety of baits. Gitzits, darthead worms, spinner baits, senkos'and crank baits.
    City: Paradise

Tips: We had to cover a lot of water. When the bite slowed up we went to the reaction baits.

    Water Temp: 70

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: With the cold front moving in the Basin Bassmasters launched out of Bidwell with some light winds. The day was dry until 10am then the rains came and more winds. I fished the main body with a lipless yo zuri crank bait catching some 15" keepers most of the day. We found bass along banks with small rocks and in groups. You may move down a bank and not find a fish for 100 yards or so then "bang", fish on. Drop shot also got the bigger bass in a green pumkin with red flake.
We also used Capt Jack's Jigs in Larry's colors brown/orange. watermelon red flake jigs were working the best around the tree stumps.
Nine boats, 11 bass. My partner Jason and I had four bass for 6.78 for the winning and the third person on my boat (fishing for himself) had two bass for 2nd place.
    City: Rocklin

Tips: Top water turned off, fish slow and look for the bait. Craw colors in orange and black or dark browns.

    Water Temp: 72

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I enjoyed the day today showing two good bassin' guys more about the middle and north forks. The bite was slow in the morning but picked up as the day went on. The very cool morning seemed to shut of any topwater bite, though we tried. Drop-shotting Robo worms and Basstrix flashtrix minnows were both fairly productive, though fishing was generally slower than normal. One of the fellows landed the biggest spot - about 2 1/4 lbs - in very shallow water at the edge of a mudline - in the early afternoon. I showed them some nice off-shore structure that I haven't fished in several years because of high water - glad I could still find those spots!! They did have some quality fish - around 9 lbs for the 5 biggest. Fun day!
    City: Yuba City

Tips: The first bass on of the fellows caught in the middle fork was the ungliest bass I have seen in my 30+ years on the lake. The poor thing had sores and whatever all over her body. We only caught one of two more with the problem - they wern't as bad. Concentrations of bass were hard to find today, but lots of areas did produce 1 to 3 bites. We did catch several shallow bass in the afternoon - kind of unusual. I tried some spooning today without a hit. Odd!

    Water Temp: 69-73

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Friday I took a couple of good fisherman out to prepare for an up coming tournament. As I thought might happen, the low pressure system that came in slowed the bite down a bit. We fished from the main body up to the North Fork. We started with top water spooks and pop-r's and went to dart head worms and tubes, reaction baits and drop shot in the afternoon. They had a total around 35 for the day, the biggest was 2.5lbs. It was caught on a spook in the morning off a main body point. They only had 4 over the bracket but learned alot about the lake. They had missed alot of fish on short strikes which is typical of a low pressure system.
    City: Paradise

Tips: The early morning top water action is still productive. Reaction baits are good when the bite is slow and the tubes and worm bite will always produce. When all else fails go to the drop shot.

    Water Temp: 67-74

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I took my father-in-law and brother-in-law out Monday. Both of them I have fished with since I was 12yrs old. We ended up with 60+ bass and 1 catfish. We had only 5 over, the biggest was 3.49lbs. We used a variety of baits. Dart head worm, tubes, top water, crank baits and blades. We fished mainly in the north end of the Lake. The morning bite was not as good as the early afternoon. Tubes and worms best in the morning and reaction baits in the late morning and early afternoon.
    City: Paradise

Tips: With the Lake down about 150ft.,the bass are always moving. Keep moving, look for different areas to fish. Most of the bass came from 1ft. to 25ft.

    Water Temp: 77

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: 12 good fisherman hit the lake friday afternoon looking for salmon,Cats and bass.
Most of the time I was using a lipness crank bait, Kastmaster and drop shot.
What are all those spots on the Bass? The fish smell and look sick. Went out saturday until 4pm, most of the time in the Middle Fork and down to the bridge. The better Bass were in the main body.
    I did get 10 or more on a Brown/Purple Jack's Jigs.
Stay in 30 ft or deeper and as close to the bank. The morning bits came on a pop'r and a rip bait.
    City: Rocklin

Tips: Look around, the lake is full of bait.

Went out to the main body and also the North Fork and back down to the main body and then back to the West Branch. We threw tubes, worms, blades, pop-r's, spooks, lipless crank baits and senkos. All produced hits and landed 61 with 6 over the biggest was 2.45lds.
    City: Paradise

Tips: Steep walls, mud lines, shade lines, points were the focus. Bass came from one foot to 35ft.

    Water Temp: 67-74

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I had the pleasure of taking out a young lady, her fiance and his dad today. The lake was pretty windy this morning but I wanted to see if there was going to be any top water feeding. We found several top water bass early but the bite did not last too long. We moved up the North Fork for a short time and found several bass on some rocky walls throwing tubes. We then headed for the main body to fish a drop off with a mud line and threw lipless crank baits. It was real exciting to see every one slam some bass with those cranks. For just a half day they did real good with about 35 bass and 2 over.
    City: Paradise

Tips: Visual top water, throwing pop-r's and flukes. Rocky points throwing tubes in clear sparkle and motor oil colors and looking for mud lines throwing lipless crank bait with shad colors.

    Water Temp: 72-76

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I took out a father-son team out today. The lake is changing every day so I had to find new water to fish. The morning top water bite was good but a lot of fish missed. Using pop-r's the guys did land one. We moved to the main body and found the bass out around 20-30 ft. Tubes and jigs were catching bass. We found the bass at rocky walls and points. We moved up the North Fork to find the water cooler but more sedament in the water from the river beds being exposed. Fished some shade lines there to get a few more bass. For a half day and they had 22 with 5 over.
    City: Paradise

Tips: Every day is a differnt day. Keep moving to locate bass. Start looking deep for bass, the last few hot days and moon has spread the bass out.

Report: Fish scattered every place we went. Found some good area's holding better fish, however they will be dry ground before the FPT event in three weeks. A park ranger informed us they are releasing water at a rate of one or one and a half foot a day. That means 21' to 30' lower in three weeks. We caught 48 fish with the best five just over 10 lbs.
    City: Granite Bay Ca.

Tips: Pre-fish 2 days before event

Report: I had the opportunity to take a great grand father ,grandson and great grandson out Tuesday. With the full moon the night before I was not sure we would get bit in the morning. We started in the West Branch on points. We started late so the top water was not happening. We just threw tubes and senko's and the bass were every place we stopped. Took them down the main body and the same. With just four hours to fish, they boated 30 bass. Four over, the biggest at 16.
    City: Paradise

Tips: We threw clear sparkle gitzits and pumpkkin senko's, targeting points and rocky walls, shade lines and shade side of rocks.

    Water Temp: 64-73

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I took out a father and son team Friday and had another great day on beautiful Lake Oroville. We started out in the North Fork throwing pop-r's and flukes. The flukes did better this day as the bass seemed to be less aggresive as in the past few days. They boated about 6 before we moved on. I did hear though, that spooks did well an the main body early. We then moved futher up the North Fork throwing tubes and rattle traps. Both caught fish and over the slot. With the sun straight up we moved down to main body where the clear sparkle tube worked real well. By 2pm. they had boated around 35 bass with 8 over the slot, 2 over 16.
    City: Paradise

Tips: Top water, we targeted bass on the surface. The banks from 1 ft to 20 feet produced bass. Rocks, shade lines and mud lines all were key targets.

    Water Temp: 64-73

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: I took an uncle and nephew team out Wed. It was the first time the 14 year old went bass fishing and being from New York City he was pretty excited to learn how to catch some bass. They caught several bass on top water first thing in the morning. We moved up the North Fork to fish the walls and banks throwing tubes, blades and crank bait. With 56 bass,9 over with 3 at 16 + and being 2pm it was time to head in.
    City: Paradise

Tips: The useual pop-r's in shad colors, we focused on sight fishing for forageing bass. They also hooked some on flukes. On the banks we focused on shade lines and rocky walls, throwing willow leaf blade and shad color skirts. The crank bite was soft today but still added numbers to the day. The tube bite was the most produtive. Using craw, motor oil, and clear sparkle tubes.

    Water Temp: 63-74

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I took out a client Sunday that wanted to learn how to throw crank baits. I was a little concerned about the day because of the low pressure system that moved in. As it was he did get about 30 bass all bracket fish but the differnce was that the bass were mostly hitting the baits with their mouths closed. He got hit after hit with no fish. The good thing was he learned where the strike zone was and He had a great day. Monday I took out a husband and wife that wanted to learn how to fish Lake Oroville and have a little adventure. Todays bite was a lot better as the bass were eating the baits once again. Top water action this morning was great with pop-r's and flukes. They had 16 top water bass with the biggest at 16+ inches. With the Sun hitting the water we headed up the North Fork to throw senko's and tubes. They caught another 14 bass the biggest hitting 2.9 lbs., before it was time to go.
    City: Paradise

Tips: Every day is a diffent day on the water. With the lake dropping about 15 inches a day, its like fishing a new lake every day. Crank baits were lipless in shad colors and the senko's were the pumpkin with black flake and tube was the clear sparkle gitzit.
