    Water Temp: 84

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: In spite of the heat, the fishing at Oroville continues to be great for medium size spotted bass, especially around submerged willow trees. I took some friends and we caught well over 50 bass including a few largemouth and a smallmouth. As usual, the fellow in the back of the boat caught the biggest - a nice 17 1/2 inch spot, caught drop-shotting a Basstrix plastic minnow - about 1:30 in the afternoon! In fact, that was the key after noon - drop-shotting 3" Basstrix minnows in the shade of flooded brush. Jigs and Magic worms worked well in the morning.
    City: Yuba City

Tips: I think the front that moved in from the south made the weather more comfortable but shut off the bigger fish bite. This happens most of the time, especially for the night bite. I could tell because there was no topwater bite whatsoever. Come and enjoy good fishing - just throw 4 to 6 inch morning dawn or green pumpkin worms - you will catch bass!

Report: I took my wife, daughter, and son-in-law-to-be to the Lime Saddle area for a boat picnic and a little fishing. Many bass have moved off-shore as the lake is starting to drop. I found a favorite area north of the marina and threw a #301 Senko into a flooded tree and was rewarded with a 2 lb 5 oz spawned out largemouth. Nice fish! Fishing was fair until 20 min before dark when the bite turned on! We caught fish after fish - some pretty small, but one was a 15 1/4" spot. We even caught a smallmouth! I don't know how many we caught but at least 2 were decent!
    City: Yuba City

Tips: I really can't offer any informed fishing tips from a short family outing except that I feel the morning bite should be much better because of the very warm temps at the end of the day. I did try some topwater lures - no takers. Night fishing should start to turn on now that the post-spawn is over.

    Water Temp: Bath Water Warm

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: My partner, his son and I got on the water a bit late about 8:00 am or so. We headed up the middle fork where my partner took the first fish of the day on a blade. I lost 2 fish on jigs and one on a custom bait that a buddy of mine crafted called the "Voodoo" this Voodoo bait impressed the heck out of me I tell ya. My partner and I got some viscous strikes that scared the living dog lights right out of us. You would just be reeling along and WHAM!!!!!!!! almost take the rod right out of your hand. I have caught some really quality fish on this bait. Keep your eyes open when this hits the shelf. Anyway from the middle fork we went North searching for new water. I switched to shaking a 6 inch robo worm and sure enough my first fish came to the boat. We stayed north and did very well shaking robo worms. I cant tell you the secret color but just try different colors. All in all best 5 would have went 11 pounds. Not bad considering the extreme heat and winds.

Tips: Bring plenty of fluids and sunscreen. Fish are in about 8-15 feet of water on points.

    Report: Tom,
You can't go wrong with "Green Pumpkin" or "Watermelon" at Oroville. Try to drop shot a 4" or 6" worm on those fish. You might also try "Morning Dawn" it can be a great producer as well. Tight Lines!

Report: Took my 6 year old to the after bay on monday the 27TH. They had droped the water level downe to 128.6' so it was pretty hard to find a good place to fish. we through buzz baits in the morning for minamum sucsess. but got on a good worm bite about 9:30am around the tullies in about 2' my son caught a nice 5-lbr and a few others around 2-lbs, I had several between 3 and 4-lbs. all came on 4" yum lizards. All the fish wanted the lizard out in front of the tullies not up against them or in them. You could see the bottom in 2' but did not see the fish till they hit and ran back to the tullies.
    City: Oroville

Tips: Take plenty of fluids with you, and dont forget the 4" lizards in watermellon green flake. Good luck and tight lines.

    Water Temp: ???

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Oroville is on fire! Caught 50 + fish in half day trip til noon. 20 fish over the slot, the rest solid 14 inch chunkers. Spooks in the morning, tubes and wacky rigged Flirts when the spook bite died. All caught in main body on flats, then 20 feet in front of wind swept points. Best 5 around 10-11 lbs, including a few decent smallies. Great Father's Day to all!!
    City: Roseville

Tips: Just go while it's hot! The spook bite is really starting to turn on. Fish seemed to be more concentrated on rocky/red clay points vs. the grassy points.

Good reaction bite all day, used the worm each time the wind and boats stopped. 34 fish in the boat with two overs and a few rats, most were slots. Report: This goes out to Rob Maxwell. I would like to say thank you very much for wishing me well "over there." It means alot to myself and my brothers and sisters in arms that the public still supports all of us. Though I will be off the lake for a while, come November I'll be heading out to the lake as soon as the wife will let me!!! Again thank you Rob.
    City: Plumas Lake

Tips: For our day on the water last weekend, 4 inch worms in darker colors with some chartruse some where worked well, had a decent crank bite too. With the lake level up, the fish were off the banks about 15-20 ft. I am going to try and hit clear lake if at all possible this weekend, been wanting to do that for awhile. Fish on Yall, and have fun.

Report: Cal and I head out of Lime Saddle again this AM. Looked for some topwater bites in and close tothe docks...had some short strikes but nothing on hook. The headed out to the North Fork some some real fun. Landed the first fish o' the day on a Chartruse Spinner (my first ever) and then landed one on a Jig (again my first ever). Cal started landing some on a crank bait. Cal landed a nice 3+l.bs LM on a Chartuse CB. Worked our way down the bank and decided 20 fish was our limit today then we would head home. I hooked up 2 noce ones on a rattle trap but both got off before the boat (that in NOT suppose to happen on a rattle trap but they did). A few miles later ran into some tourney guys and headed up the fork. Found a nice cove with fresh water but no bites. Headed up another finger and found some cooler water and started the finesse worms and caught one on my first cast. We proceed up the fork and landed our daily goal. All 20 fish in the boat with 25+ on but not landed. Total limit fish: 7 with a total weight of about 16lbs. Quanity not so good but the keepers meant something.
    City: Plumas Lake

Tips: The lake is overflowing at the edges (never seen it so full in over 9 years of fishing for June). Fish off the band with a Med-Deep Crank or Worm in the same area of depth and hold on tight. PS This will be Cal and I's last time out this summer as he is headed to catch Osama, Bro I'll miss ya and stay safe, see ya on the backside.

    Water Temp: 74-76

Report: Look out for the debris!!! The lake is at its MAX...Another foot and you'll be fishing in the Spillway parking lot. Warm weather and warm water buzzkilled the bite for us. It was tough all day...Saw a lot of fish on the graph but the hook-ups were tough. 20-30 bass today. We were hoping for those 50-60 bass days.

Tips: Dartheads, splitshot and texas rigs worked for us. Color didn't matter. Had a few big bass under the wood/debris in the back of the coves.

Report: Great day for numbers. Caught 50+ fish on any lure we wanted, but the biggest only went 2 1/4. The jig bite was awesome. Fish were primarily in 10 to 20 feet. Just dragged them around. Not the most exciting way to fish, but effective. Blade bite was OK once the mudlines formed. Beautiful day. Houseboats were out and the sights were nice.
    City: Roseville

Tips: Just drag your favorite bait. The reaction bite should get better with the warmer temps.

Report: Calvin, Rich and I hit this lake. I must admit I was a little apprehensive about all the reports I've aread on Oro but they came true. Lauched out of Lime Saddle and saw some fish boiling right in the launch area. So we started throwing ot top water...fish on...lots of junk in the water all the way to the bridge. Headed up some place (great thing about being the back seater, did know where I am I just fish) and the game was on. Cal and Rich boated at least 35-40 apiece, best limit between those 2 was 13-15lbs as our scale was on the fritz. At one point Cal put 5 fish on in 6 casts. I had fun learning from those two as Im not much of the finasse type of guy but I think im starting to see the light. Thanks for the leasson guys.
    City: Plumas Lake/YC

Tips: If its squishie...throw it. As for set up...I think all you need is a hook a weight and a squishie thing and you will be all right. As said in a report earlier, keep a top water on at all times just in case they start to boil. See ya on the lake.

    Water Temp: 75

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I took a man/wife Friday, trying to show them how to catch larger bass and to show them areas to find them. We stayed in the north fork which seemed to be a good decision. Couldn't believe the weather again - a little rain in the morning but cloudy all day and not much wind. We started about 7 am - splitshotting - and the little lady was hooking bass so fast it made my head swim! Most of the day she was using a 6" morning dawn worm. Also a 4" purple ghost. Hubby and I used dark colors - black grape, green pumpkin, oxblood, etc. The goal of the boat became 60 bass and we stopped at 62 - no largemouth but 3 smallies. We wound up with 12 over the slot and she caught most of them! What a machine - and she did it from the back of the boat!!! She was casting to the shore and just letting the bait gradually swing out to deeper water - a very effective technique - covering several depths in one cast. She also lost the biggest bass when we went to the west side - might have been 3 lbs. Our best five (she had three of them) were a shade over 12 lbs.
    City: Yuba City

Tips: I didn't see the larger bass I saw in the previous trip but, as other posters have mentioned, fishing Oroville is fun now! This is the time to introduce a child to bass fishing!! As for the fishing, we were targeting deep water bluffs near spawning flats - trying to get em' comin' or goin'!!! Most of the backs of coves just have small bass in them now. Try throwing a Senko about 20 feet off a wall near a flat and just let it sink. It works but often you hook them deep and have to cut the line. I did hook a rip fish and a crank fish but didn't concentrate on that. I taught him a little about fishing jigs and he actually caught one and missed several others - probably small ones. One of the bass spit up a crawdad! How about that!!

Better fish made be had up in the forks but didn't have time to go there. Would be a great time to take a kid fishing. Still lots of debris and the skiers are out. Good luck to you 100%ers and future pros this weekend. Still takes a 14lb bag to win
