These baits are great. The wind died down and I threw a Rico on shady walls and pick up several ish over a pound. Ater 10:00 am I dartheaded and texas rigged worms with a lot o success. Most o the worm ish were in the 15-25 t range. i also taught a riend to Dropshot and he caught several ish as well.

Report: Art Belanger and I took a amily o our out to learn how to ish. Saw enormous numbers o ish on depth inders between 20-35 eet but it was diicult to get them to bite. Nothing on top water or ripbaits although there were many ollowers. Caught 1 ish on a spinnerbait and 1 on a crankbait. All the rest o our ish came on plastics. Some wacky rigged 9J Senko, a couple on dart head cuttail worm and quite a ew on dropshot rigs. Productive colors were Yamamoto's cuttails in Purple with black lake and Smoke Blue Pearl. Also caught two on Aaron's Magic 6" worms. Had at least 30 bites but the kids had trouble setting the hook so we only managed about 12 in the boat...one over the slot, several in the slot and a bunch o smaller ish.
    City: Fair Oaks

Tips: With rapidly dropping water, ish seem to be holding in deeper water or oshore in the top 10' o the water column.

    Water Temp: 75

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I took a man rom Oregon this morning or a our hour "learn how to bass ish" trip. And I am happy to say "he learned"! I am going to start with the end o the trip. On our way back to the dam I stopped at a good spot and showed him one more technique - how to drop-shot. I rigged it or him, watched him ish it or a minute or so, then started puting rods away, etc. Within 5 minutes he looks over to me and says "how am I doing?" as he is ighting a bass. Ater I netted his 14 1/2 inch spot I said "just ine!!" Those Oregon bass better watch out - he is a natural! We started early in Canyon Creek with topwater, but with no real success though I had a blowup rom a large ish. He had never caught a ish on a plastic worm - so that was the main goal. We ound two groups o ish and caught several on Berkley Pulse Worms and Camanche Jack's worms. He caught the three largest bass - all between 14 and 14 1/2 inches. I taught him to use Senkos and he did hook one but missed it. Though we didn't ish the whole time, we did manage 12 bass. We should have had a lot more but it took him awhile to learn to put some wrist in the hook set. Ater that, he was ine. We ending up ishing shadows in the main body willows or the rest o our ish. I was truly thankul that this was a hal day trip - it was getting hot!!
    City: Yuba City

Tips: The ishing reports may not be real great or awhile since they started "dumping" the lake - 10 eet or so in a week. That will cause the ish to start suspending and be more diicult to catch during the mid-day period. Shallow ish will be hard to come by. Drop-shotting will become more and more eective now. Fish shadows as long as you can. When the lake is high, I have a milk run that can keep me in shadows until 12:30 pm. Fish the shady side o the willows.
