Water Temp: 52 degree
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: i was throwing plastics before the storm... fishin for bass... darn trout like plastic worms. i could feel this tap tap tap... set the hook and catch a 13 inch trout. but i did catch a 15" & a 13" smallmouth. man they were fat. they look like they were goin to burst.
hey john... that's ur problem... there are no spotted bass in quarry lakes. hehehe... j/k
City: FremontTips: timing is the key. the water has to drop 20ft and it has to warm up. like most deep water lakes, the bass hang out on the ledges and come up to feed on the flats. right now the bass are on the third drop-off... too far to cast to... u need a boat with a depth finder. u can see a lot of suspended fish in 30 to 60ft. tough fishing right now.

i fish for trout and catch smallmouth.
so lately i've been throwing spoons, kastmasters and panther martins for the trout. darn smallmouth keep hitting it. so i say, what the heck, i'll fish for smallmouth and start throwing rapalas and rattletraps. i start catching trout. my last trout was 3 lbs. i can't wait til the water drops another 15 feet. it's down about 20 ft. then rainbow lake should be good to walk around.
City: FremontTips: i can't wait til DFG starts planting those trophy 9 lbs. trout. that should make things interesting.

Water Temp: unknown
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished Rainbow lake again. From what I can see, all of the decent bass have moved offshore to other structure and left only dinks behind. Did not see any keeper-size fish even cruising around. Everyone I talked to got skunked. Big turn-around from last week. The water level has come up about 2 feet. I tried everything in the book. Think I will wait until the middle of October to come back here.
City: FremontTips: Don't waste your time here right now. The bass bite is much better at other local lakes.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Walked entire shoreline of Rainbow Lake. Caught 3 LM dinks by the parking lot; 1 on a jig, 2 on deep diving crankbait. One thing is for sure; the LM would not look at anything white. They only would follow dark colors. Blue worked very well. Walked to the only main lake point in Rainbow Lake, and tossed everything I had in the box. Was able to get a 6+ SMALLIE to follow and nip at a slow rolled spinnerbait, but of course, I forgot to put the trailer hook on. Could not convince the smallie to look at anything else again. This lake will become a very good bass fishery as long as the EBRPD can keep the lakes close to capacity.
City: FremontTips: Fish any kind of point or submerged visible vegetation that you can find. Most bass were on very subtle depth changes and indentations that were visible from shore. The christmas trees are almost completely out of the water, so the fish have moved to deep points and humps.

Water Temp: warm
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I was reading background info on this lake and heard they had smallmouth here. I fished the rainbow lake once and caught a few LM dinks a couple months ago. I went to the horseshoe lake and caught a few LM when I was really looking for smallies. Are those sites lying? Where are the smallies? Or do I really have to drive 40 or miles out of the area to catch em? I appreciate tips on the bronzebacks in the area.
Tips: small brown/purple slipshot worms worked for me. (Leader was about 18"). Nothing on cranks.

Report: first time to this lake, I'm not sure if I fished Rainbow or Horseshoe. Caught 2 bass in the late afternoon. I was fishing the shadows. First bass came on a brown/purple carolina rig worm, the second came on a white splash it popper. Both were released in great shape. I wish I had more time to exlore this lake.

Report: If the bass aren't biting here, try over the BART tracks at Shinn Pond. Caught 4 keepers (largest 4.75 lbs) on 7/17 in the AM hours. 2 on shallow crankbaits fished almost so slow they barely swim, and 2 on all white spinnerbaits (3/8 ounce double blade).
City: FremontTips: All the bass I have seen at Shinn lately have been along weedlines that have 15+ ft. water close by.

It seems like you know what your talking about but how about some help with my question on float tubes. This is for reports and help for local fisherman.
If you want to stop the legal bag limits then you should write your local legislature. Get involved.

I could of used some info from you also.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Hey Fishing P, keeping a bass especially during their spawning season can really hurt the bass population of that lake. Also, keeping resident fish such as bass can pose as a serious health risk due to the high concentration of mercury found in these lakes. With that in mind, keep the catfish and trout and throw the bass back. They will always stock plenty of trout and cats for you to catch and keep, but bass populations are wild, so each fish you keep does harm the overall population. Think about it before you keep your next bass, regardless of its size. Not only can it affect the health of the bass population in whatever lake you may be fishing, but you can expirience various health issues as a result of eating this resident fish.
