Report: The cover program is a go. Saturday January 10th 7:30 am 2004 will meet at Quarry as we did last year. we will have coee and donuts sponsored by BBAC, then drive down to the loading site and start dumping trees. We estimate 1000 trees at Quarry. Anyone that lives close to a x-mas tree lot please spread the word to call Pete Alexander at 510-258-2211 to arrange drop o. BBAC will provide receipts or the lot owners so they not only get the write o but do not have to pay to dump the unsold trees. Its a win win or everyone. Ater the dumping, we will all go to quarry lakes Ensonata Picnic area or the BBQ o Tri Tips and the works or lunch at 2pm sponsered by the parks dept. Volunters are asked to wear boots and bring gloves to help. So dress appropriatly or the weather. I hope to see a good turnout

Report: Hey ishing p,I'm not sure that you're aware that the quarries are strictly catch&release or the bass. Please let all the bass go to get bigger and eat the trout.the smallies in these lakes are very special and you'ld have to drive many miles to get on good smalies like these so lets protect our ishery. Thanks swmpy

Report: Yes unortunatly the truth hurts. As we know the water district as well as as the parks dept are the higher ups that we have to deal with. I want everybody out there to understand that the parks dept own the consessions at Quarry and not at Chabot. Obviously there is more interest or them at quarry than at Chabot. The thing is that we couldn't have dumped tree 1 at Chabot without doing Quarry. I am working with Pete now to hopeully do something better at quarry than last year. Unortunatly quarry takes president over Chabot because o the all mighty dollar. I it was up to me I would not do squat or quarry simply or the reason I have no interest in supporting quarry or anything. Please come and help us at Chabot this year we know the planting is working there. Hope we can get some dierent ideas and as well as the same turnout this year.
    City: Castro Valley

Tips: Please catch and release all bass or there are no planting programs or them. They rely on their own species to regenerate their population. Take out the breeders there will be none let or our kids to catch

Report: To all those who ish here this lake sucks and will always suck as long as ACWD has control over the EBRPD. Last years christmas tree planting was hard work i know i was there or many hours trying to use some dumbass tie wraps to tie a tree to a chain. When the water luctuates (as it does so much here) the trees look and do nothing more than make my eyes hurt and litter the banks o which i have ished since beore the perimeter ence was even put up !! it makes me riggin SICK to think that all that time we spent was wasted cause now the trees don't provide much at all and why don't they just pull them out to the deeper water because ACWD wont let them. Chabot on the other hand is beneitting more rom this program my advice orget QL save the trees or chabot thats or you DON i u want advice and help i'll give it to ya but the truth hurts sometimes unortnately!! - OQB

Report: Its time to start thinking about this winters christmas tree dumping day. As soon as we can get the dates and days activitys I will be posting them on this Quarry report and as well as the Chabot report. The irst dumping was a great success. I went on the summer sensus shock boat or the data on the ish in the lake and was very surprized to see many young bluegill all over the lake. The more trees and cover we can get in the lake the more o a chance these ish will grow to spaun and regenerate their species. I think this is great news. Anyone who wants to contact me about urther ino or has any ideas to better our program Please e-mail me at basshunter4u@aol.com

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Well i been ishing these lakes or over 15 yrs and they were the best kept illegal secret lakes. Now these lakes do really FRIGGIN' suck. I Went ishing 6 hrs and caught a 1.2# smallie and almost got in trouble or ishing in the lago osos illegal pond/lake thats a protected resource.DON'T FISH THERE !!I mean inally i get one and i get kicked out o the spot i'm in. Meanwile at horseshoe and rainbow lakes I threw everything that has worked there beore and there wasn't a bite nor a ish seen rom shore same as in the past 7 months o coming here. I did see lots o carp but who cares? My advise this place is good to practice casting and until budgets change we wont have any bass ishery being built upkept or managed in the mean time ALWAYS RELEASE FISH in a place like this so we don't have to go to delta or clearlake just to catch one lets ALL do our part in restoring this ishery that once kicked major butt on all the regional lakes. or now ish sae !!
    City: remont

Tips: lures thrown included spinnerbaits all sizes white, chart, white and chart. worms in many di colors , senko's , crankbaits and jerkbaits in shad patterns. Jigs with craw trailers in red/ blk. GOOD LUCK go to chabot cause its easier there

Report: This message is concerning smallmouth bass. Ater years o catching nice largemouths, I'm very anxious to try some smallmouth ishing. I have caught several tiny smallmouth rom Del Valle, but I was told that Quarry has some that commonly exceed 2 pounds. I've ished quarry once or bass, and I had my success in the small lake with some quality largemouths. I tried some steep drop os with small grubs looking or a smallmouth with no success. Does anyone ish Quarry or bass anymore? I anyone has any tips I'd really appreciate it, such as which lake holds more and better ish and what type o presentation has seemed to work best. Thanks, Dan
