Graphed alot o ish but couldn't get them to go. Cooler weather expected later in the week, so maybe the bite will improve. Did I mention I caught the two spots! The Blonde did manage a 2.5lb. rainbow and I added a small salmon later in the day. The lake level is holding about 54 eet rom ull.

Report: Fished Saturday the 25th and the ishing was slow and the wind was bad, all size boats were coming o the lake, rom 12 t boats to 21 t bass boats even some deep V's. I ished rom 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM and got one ish on a drop shot 3 inch morning dawn leechin the only cove we could ind that was calm in the very middle o the cove in 20 t o water. When we got back at 11:00 we ound that both o our rigs had been broken into and my tool box, tackle box and all o my clothes were stollen, the took the same rom my brother car, they ripped open my camper shell and cut the line to my gas tank and drained it and through a rock the size o a basketball through my brothers side window.According to a local guy and the Sherri there has been a lot o break in's at Jones Valley public launch ramp, why they do not have it posted I do not know. I it would have been posted I would not have let $800.00 worth o stu in my truck. Between me and my brother there was about $1300.00 stollen.
City: SAN JOSETips: Do not leave valuables in your rigs. Drop shot natural colors and make sure the orcast is not or wind because the white caps were 5-6 t.

Water Temp: 71.2
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: this is a report or conditions or those o you who are heading up or the Newbass Team Spectacular on 4-5 Oct. The lake is 52.5 t down and alling slowly, a cooling trend is coming with day time temps in the mid-80's, the lake is still airly warm with this mornings temp at 71.2 at 0630 rising to the mid and upper 70's as the day progresses. To say that things ar slow would be an understatement. I participated in a mid week bragging rights turkey shoot last wednesday and managed to win as I was the only one to get 2 ish(2 ish limit). I ished against some good sticks and all o us managed only a ew dinks and a ew barely legal ish. It is gonna be tough as the conditions and catch hasn't changed. Bailey Cove is out o the water, the loat is in but is sitting in the mud, rom the reeway it looks ok but don't take the trip down the hill, Jones Valley- stay in the 2 lanes nearest the loat to avoid the end o the 4 lane ramp. You might want to put in at Packers or the tournament as Bridge Bay is pulling out all their houseboats and the island parking is limited, Packers is down to 2 lanes with the mud hump blocking the lanes away rom the loat, Hirz Bay north is out, Hirz bay south is in as is Centimudi and Antlers, Sugarloa is still looded. The shad are all over the place and not bunched up yet, the water will have to cool another 8-10 degrees beore that happens, just about every ish in the lake is suspended, this am they were in 9-15 t over 30 t o water and not on any bite that I oered. One rip ish and one on a jig with a ew trout busting the surace or about an hour. Good luck to all, it ain't gonna be un but the weather will be great.

Water Temp: 69-73
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: My partner and I went up on Saturday and preished or the up coming NewBass TOC. Haven't been up to the lake since last year. Got on the water right at sun rise. Tried throwing rip baits and top water- nothing. We cover alot o water that day to have only about 7-8.5 pounds. Found using my 1/4 oz darter with 6 inch salt & pepper seemed to work the best up in the cloud and squal. Talked to a ew other boats, they were having the some problem with getting any size or a steady pattern. Sorry I couldn't give anymore ino, I didn't have much going or mysel. Will be back up there next weekend, hope the weather changes or the worse, rain would really turn on the bite.

Anyway, good topwater ish.

Report: Don't bother going ishing or a week or so, just about everybody having trouble catching a limit over the past week, out last night with Syd, a irend rom the MGM shop, in at 730PM at Jones Valley and only two rigs in the gravel, DON"T use the two lanes on your let when backing down, stay close to the loat on you will back o the end o the ramp. We are nearing the point where the ramp will go down to 2 lanes, I just got o with one tire but you could damage things i you are in a hurry. the lake is 51 t down, airtemp was 83 with a 5 knot wind out o the west that swung around to 25 knots out o the north by 930PM. We ished some humps in the lower Pit and I got a 1.5 at 750PM and igured we would get on them a bit. Syd had a bunch o bites on a worm but was getting back a hal a worm as they were hitting short. I got a hal dozen taps ater that but nothing else in the boat. We pulled out at 1030 and outr success at least matched the catch o most other olks I have been hearing about. The Bass Fed event had 6 or 7 boats that didn't bring anything to the scales and I think there was only 2 or 3 limits out o 19 boats. Give it a couple o weeks until the water temp goes down.

They have gone home!!!! ran down the lower pit and dropshotted 3 small ish on a 4 inch MGM 127. Took o and cruised around a bit and saw only 1 jet ski and one ski boat, maybe hal a dozen houseboats all heading in. Water still very warm and the lake is 49.4 t down, Bailey Cove will be out beore the week is over. in at 63 degrees out at 1030 and 89 degrees, heading or another 100 degree plus day but the nights are cooling o nice.
City: ReddingTips: dropshotting in this warm water during "normal" business hours is the way to go. At night, blades, and hula grubs will get you better ish.

Report: let town at 0330 at 77 degrees, got in at Jones Valley at 0412 at 71 degrees, lake down past 46 t, went over in to Cowpasture Cove and got bit on the irst cast by a 2 lber, moved eat down the bank and in between the humps and caught 6 more between 0430 and 0530, all on jigs and everything came to a halt at 0545. tried top water, worms and cranks and not a touch till 645am when I missed 3 in Fort Creek, all three hit short and ripped the tails o my grubs. Very little boat traic, 2 on the ramp when I arrived and only one more ater I pulled out at 0715 to go clean up the boat. 75 degrees coming out, 106 yesterday and on its way to 102 today. the lake is getting into the mid-80's during the day and that is killing the bite. Report: let the house at 92 degrees, jones valley was 88 at the ramp, lake is 44t down and the hump is up at jones valley so stay well to the let o the 5 mph buoy on the way out, got in at 2030 and motored over near squaw point on some submerged humps, cranked up 4 between 2040 and 2130, all small and one at 1.65 but at and chocked ull o craw dads, move a bit to another underwater hump at 2130 and pick up the jig rod and throw it on top in 10t, turned the handle once and the jig came to a halt, turned it over about a hal a turn, eel some pressure and stick it hard and a good one goes away pulling hard on the drag, goes about 15t and stops and I get a ew turns back and o it goes again so I reach up and turn on my headlight and grab the net, get the net stuck between my legs as it stops again and I gain some line and pray this thing doesn't come running at me like they usualy do, it doesn't and ater a ew more runs I get this at 4.65 spot in the boat. nice at ish, I turned it loose and retied to catch 6 more or a total o 11 and the bit shut down ast the moon got up a bit. Shooting stars showing up and shoud get a bunch over the next week are two. Got out at 2330, air temp at 70 with a little wind out o the east.

Water Temp: 80.2-79.6
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: In at Jones Valley at 2105, lake is 43 t down, air temp was 88 in town and 75 at the ramp, ran out in the lower Pit passing my buddy Bryce and Susan, didn't even see them in the twilight, over near Squaw creek point started throwing some hula grubs and managed 17 in the irst hour and all small, threaded on an MGM #26C 4 inch zipper with a hooktail and started throwing that at 2230 over near the rockpile and caught 5 more in the next hour and the size was much better with the biggest a 2.86 spot in about a oot o water. A couple o others were twins at 1.8 and I ran out o the zippers, only had 6. I usually use them on Trinity and had never thrown them on Shasta. Kinda unny how you end up pitching dierent baits at dierent lakes. Guess i will have to break that habit. Beautiul moonlite night with Mars about 12 inches to the let o the moon, had a little breeze come up around midnight so i got o at 0030 at 59 degrees, Had 22 total which was more than I expected.
City: ReddingTips: I threw the zipper on a 1/4 oz darter head right on the bank and got the bigger ish that way.
