Report: Fished 2nd In-Law trip on Sonoma rom 10am to 11pm. We started on Yourty, working our way South along the East side. "Dad" picked up a little bass on a Bomber model A within the irst 2 hours. Man the ish seem DEEP! Riged some senkos, bombers a-plenty, mostly around the shoreline and deep on trees. Didn't get much.Moved our way back twords Yourty on the West side....stared when we could see the bridge. We changed to topwaters, with a rog("Dad"), hula popper, skitter bug...not much. Did see ish jumping tho agout 40 eet rom shore...real randomly. I caught a little bass(like 1lb) on a diving crawdad rattle/crank, but not nuch else the rest o thae day. Ended up catishing with the jingle bells until 11, smoking a cigar and talking about Spring.Man, Sonoma is just a tough nut to crack...but then again it's my irst year bass ishing.PS> We released all our tiny ish...mabe we'll catch them much bigger in Spring...unless there's ish to catch in October.-Luty-

Saw some ish busting shad on top.
    City: Petaluma

Tips: Somebody told me ater I got o the water that we need to downsize the baits and our line. Little baby reapers were the ticket or him. Brown and green combo. Carolina rigged or dropshotted. Most ish marked around thirty eet.

Report: Forget the mickey mousing with the plastics. You only need one thing or nighttime right now. BLACK BUZZBAIT. Caught some nice ish last night. Just keep the boat moving and throw the buzzbait til your arm alls o. Awsome explosions. Flats with grass, shallow banks. Its nice to just throw one thing the whole night. The one thing I can say is have conidence in it. Stick with it. I'm starting to listen to you G-Man. I'm still shaking rom the explosions.
    City: Petaluma

Tips: Used a 1/2 oz Persuader black/blue buzzbait with a yamamoto twintail D/T H-Grub 5"(214). Just trim the skirt o at the top and thread it on and then add the trailer hook. You won't regret it. It will work on any lake. It took about 45 mins or my irst hookup. So you have to be patient and stick with it. Just my 02cents worth. Good luck.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Got there about 7:30pm. Thought or sure that @!$^%#&&% wind would lay down. Never did. Started crankin white Norman on my new Lamiglass 7' XCF 705 10-20lb Crank N Blade topped o with a Calcutta 251. Right away I knew I made the right choice as I hooked two nice smallies in a row. I anybody out there is looking or crank rod I would seriously look into this rod. Its just has a great eel and the ish really can take or load up on the bait. This is not plug or advertisement. Call Scott at 707-588-8036 Outdoor Pro Shop. You won't regret buying one o these. Back to the ishing. My son throws his black Terminator with a black/red baby brushhog trailer into some wood and boom hooks a nice largie about 3lbs. I told him everytime I throw this blade up here I get big ish and I convinced him right there. Wind really blowing hard topped o with boat traic I was starting to get a little steamed. Roller ater roller. Trolling motor dies. A lesson here or everybody. Don't let your riend borrow your boat. I don't care how close you are. It will not come back the same way it let. He didn't do anything on purpose, but I should have done a boat check beore I got there. Salt all over the trolling motor wires. Had to be scraped o. Got it going again. Decide to ind shelter and the boat will not start. Never had a problem beore, now I do. Can't get it started and luckily we make it back to the marina with trolling motor on high. End o ishing. I think I set a record or cursing. Wind still blowing. The ride home was tough and seriously thought about giving it all up, but I love it too much. Today is another day and hopeully I'll give a better report than this ater we igure out the engine. Sorry.
    City: Petaluma

Tips: First and oremost you gotta make sure everything is working properly on boat beore going on night trip. Lesson learned here. Only you use your boat. No borrowing by riends. Even though they mean well, its going to lead to problems. When I got my boat back, nothing was the same. Look into those Lammys or crankin and bladin.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went ishing on Sonoma Saturday morning with a riend who just got a boat & is new to bass ishing. Picked up a couple o small ish in the AM at the back end o Dry Creek. Then, hit a main lake point w/ weeds. My riend pulls in a 5#, 23" bass @ about 10 AM, then another one o about 1#, both on a natural-colored plastic worm on an old-style double-hook worm rig with a spinner in ront. This ater I assured him that the bite would die by 9 AM.
    City: Santa Rosa

Tips: Good reminder to keep things simple. Lures that worked 30 years ago still work today. And don't make too many rock-solid predictions - the bass oten have other ideas.

    Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished last night rom about 9pm to 1:30am. Could not go ar because I was by mysel and the wind was blowing again. Stayed near the marina area. Saw only one boat during that time. Kind o slow night or me. Got ish on blades and senkos. All shallow. Biggest ish was about 3lber on slowrolling blade. They were hitting blade hard. Every hit on the all. Reel a little and let it all and then hang on. Caught senko ish also. Black with blue lake. Does it really matter? As long as its dark colored or whatever your conident in. I had a guy with me one night sticking some nice ish with i you can believe this, 6inch morning dawn zipper worms. Go igure. Anyway, ish shallow and go through areas that you think might hold ish at least 3 or 4 times during the night. Keep returning to areas that you ished because eventually ish will move up during the night. Its a timing thing as G-man says.
    City: petaluma

Tips: Blades and senkos or me. Keep switching them up. I you ind grass throw senkos. At some time during the night the ish will show up there. I guess topwater will work also, depending on the wind. I heard there's going to be another cooling trend towards the weekend. What that will do to the ish, I have no idea. Don't think, just ish.

    Water Temp: very warm

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished last night on the warm springs side up in the back. Did really well with senkos. Fished lats with grass. Stayed in the same area whole night. Fish kept moving in throughout the night. Go down the bank one way and turn around and go back the other way. This pattern worked really well or us cause we knew ish were gonna be there. It was just a matter o time. When we started got no bites going one way then turned around and went the other way and the bite was on. As the night wore on the bite became increasingly better especially ater midnight. And the size o the ish increased also as the night wore on. With the weather and the ish cooperating we were deinitely in heaven. Tried topwater and blades and brushogs, but could not really get anything going with them. They just wanted senkos. Biggest ish around 6 or 7lbs. Our ive best close to 25lbs. Caught over thirty ish.
    City: Petaluma

Tips: 5" senko. Black with red lake and lots o smelly jelly. Throw it into the grass and hang on. I used berkeley ireline with the senko set up and it worked great. Especially or cutting through the grass. This line worked great with black light. Great hooksets with this line and very sensitive. Senkos are the way to go with the grass. Be aware o the pressure bites. Had many o those last night.
