Report: This is a true testament to the lack o ishing ability I have and the GREAT sportmanship, tenacity and Angler proiciency o Mr. Mike O'Brien! I'm new to N. Cal, rom Texas and just got back into Bass angling, well, Mike O'Brien saw my desperate plea on this site or some tips, and low and behold, he invited me out to ish Lake Sonama on his NEW Nitro 18'6" Green/Gold Glitter boat w/135 hp motor. Needlees to say I was happier than a two peckered water bualo to accept.Well, it was cold, wet, cloudy, rainy and windy!!!!!!!! We ished Cherry Creek, got out there around 8:15 am. Anyway, within 5 mintues Mike landed a 1-1.3 pounder on a white Senko. I've never heard o Senko beore so I ound this new bait very interesting. Another 15 minutes later Mike landed another 2 pounder, then 3 punder, then 3.5 then 4 then another 4.5, then another 3.5 and right around 12:30 pm a MONSTEROUS,BODACIOUS, HUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEE 7-7.5 HHHHHAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! Me, NOT a Dag'um thing! That's ishin! So once again, I take my hat o to Mike O'Brien and thank him or the lesson and angler sportsmanship!!!Thanks Mike or invitin' me out!!!!!!!

Report: As o yesterday there was a good blade bite going on. Caught a lot o males and a ew emales. It was too windy to try and ish plastics. So I just picked up the blade and started to get bites right away. I kind o stumbled onto it. Flats, gradual banks and steep banks all had ish. Just keep moving and throw the blade. You'll be pleasantly surprised just like I was.
    City: Petaluma

Tips: Chartreuse/white blades with some kind o crawdad plastic trailer worked or me. Like the G-Man said, stick with it and don't give up. Be aithul to what your using. With the warm weather coming back, the lake should be ready to explode by early next week.

On my irst cast I caught a 2.5 pound 17 inch largemouth bass. We saw a lot o bass in the shallows but they weren't intersted in our lures. The day slowed as when it started raining hard.

Report: Well i launched out o Yorty Creek with my Dad. We saw tons o bedding ish right o the bat but only made a eeble attmept to ctach them. (I had one nibble on my lizard, but these ish weren't interested in eeding and i couldn't get them to inhale the lure, just mouth the tail) So i tried the latest ad o drop-shotting, i positioned the boat over submerged brush and dropped it in and shook, nothing. I then shook every tree and point that i could ind and I couldn't get anything. As we pulled into a beautiul cove illed with cover i again proceded to shake some more with no luck, but my ather using the only lure he ever uses (a lead-head jig with a Gary Yamamoto grub) casted right in an brush pile and pulled up about a 1 pounder. Well hmmm, that he did what i have been doing or hours and he gets on the cheap grub while my expensive drop shot rig pulls up jack. A ew minutes later he makes a cast to a much shallower part o the log jam about 6 eet and drags the lure on the bottom slowly, well he pulls up a beey 3 pound bass. Well it inally hit my that these bass have to be on the the bottom, because the suspended worm on the drop shot rig isn't getting any bites. I then moved to a tiny brown terminator jig and pig, but apperantly the bite had stopped. No Luck or me again, what do I have to do to get a bite. Good Luck!

Report: Fished Sonoma or the irst time in awhile. Launched at 10:30, came in at 7:15. It was a blustery and cool day on the lake, which mustve slowed the bite. Me and my partner Rus hooked over 20 and landed 18 with no size....best ish was about 2 3/4 lbs. We caught a ew lipping brush, but the best technique today was shaking or dartheading a small worm in about 15' o water. With a ew warm days in a row, look or the awesome spring bite to return to normal on this lake.

Report: Had a good day ishing as a non-boater member o Bay Area Hawg Hunters in our monthly tournament. Ater starting out with spinner bait and a jig and getting no hits I switched to a 4" S&P, twin tail grub which I drop shotted in 18-23'. Got good action immediately; hooked 8, landed 6. Most were about 13-14" and the largest was 16". All were taken on the aorementioned grub.Unlike others out that day, my action turned o when the rain started and I spent a slow, unproductive, soggy three hours throwing everything in the box. Still a good day.
    City: Walnut Creek

Tips: Due to the numerous submerged trees in this lake I drop shot a weedless hooked worm rather than the nose hooked one recommended or this technique and it doesn't seem to make a dierence in the take but gives you more in-the-water exposure and less time spent retying.

Report: This was the irst time I ished this lake in about a year.Boy, what a treat! I ished the short side or a couple o hours to no avail so I headed to the ar end o the other side near thumb camp. As soon as the rain started so did the bite. First ish was 4.5 on a white spinnerbait. second was 2 on a zipper worm. Third was 1.5 on a brush hog. The rest were all on a 6" pumpkinseed curl tail worm ranging between 1.5 and 4lbs. or a total o 8 in the boat and a ew missed hook sets in just over two hours. I must give proper credit or the curl tail to a very nice isherman and his wie who reported catching 30+ ish on just that one bait. All in all, THE best day I've had ishing in a long time.P.S. any one want to buy a house in clear lake!?!?!!
    City: Santa Rosa

Tips: The pumpkinseed curl tail seemed to be the trick. look or shallow water near cover. I hope you have as much un as I did.

Report: American Bass Anglers Club Launched 6 boats rom the public ramp.My non boat and I headed or the dam irst o only to catch 11 inch ish. We decided to run up to yorty creek,we ished a point where we caught 5 small bucks, we ished the back o coves in that area I caught two ish just over thirteen inches, he had another but it shook o his crankbait right at the boat, another boat that said theyish the lake on a regular basis said the small bucks wereon the beds and that the ish in this lake spawn earlierthan most highland reservoirs, I backed o the shallows to deeper water and tried or bigger emales to no avail. Most o the ish we caught came on craw colored crankbaitsand rootbeer senkos with green lake.Four limits o ish were weighed in and they all looked like clones, just at the 1 1/2 pound size, two o the limits were caught on white and chartruese small spinnerbaits
    City: Martinez

Tips: The weather changed and a ront moved in sat. pushing alloto ish out o the shallows, when the weather improves andwarms up again use those polaroids and look or them on beds. The bigger emales might show up. Oh yeah I also caught a couple o ish jerking a clown rouge o points.Good LuckP.P.

It is not Clear Lake or the Delta, but there are some real quality ish here. This was my Biggest so ar, but I am not dead yet! Tight lines.
