Water Temp: 50+
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Took off Monday and it was well worth it!!! The lake is still very muddy but it has warmed up. I'm finally starting to see a lot of fish on the fishfinder. Most are sitting at the 8-10 ft depth.
I fished the Northeastern part of the lake and didn't have one bite. I then trolled over to the stream entrance on the Southeast end of the lake. Some great cover for the bass since the lake level went up!!!! This area was unaccessible last summer.
I threw a green tiger crankbait that runs around 6' deep. After tossing it about 12 times, I ran the plug right next to a sunken tree and that was the one!!! Finally a 4+ pound largemouth!!! I pulled her into the boat, took out the plug and then let her go for someone else to have the same excitement I had.
This lake is starting to show some promise. I think once the lake clears up and the weather warms up, that this could be a fun lake. Only caution to people is that if you want to catch a lot of bass, this isn't the lake. I would suggest moving up to Lake Sonoma or Clear Lake. This is a really small lake but since its in my backyard I can't complain but you need a lot of patience.
City: Santa RosaTips: I find the bite best in the morning (7-10am). Change things up, try different lures. I feel the brighter colors work best unless your using Senkos, the darker colors seem to work best at this time. The smelly jelly always seems to help with the bite.

Report: big crappie is on photo page now.
sorry i didnt take picture of 5+lb bass.
City: santa rosaTips: large plastics/swimbaits(6-12" trout/minnow)

Water Temp: 47-49
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Well I started off at the main parking area with my fish cat. Threw a rip bait shad pattern to test out my old loomis out, but no takers. I knew if the fish were going to bite it would have to be plastics. I practically fished the channel all the way to the north end near the damn with many different booyah jigs, no takers. At one point near the point break where all the beds are I had one quick bite and missed him.
Then I fished at my spot near a big section of just beds between two tule sections in 9-12 feet of water and started throwing a senko. I worked it in different ways but the best way is to texas rigg weightless style it. JUST DEADSTICKING IT for 10-15 seconds after every fall I caught this amazing fighting 5+lbs LRG BASS. too bad i different bring a camera...but after that I was satisfied and started trying to find different fishing holes. About 15-20 yards from that spot I got a tap tap and decided then it was time to set the hook. I CAUGHT A 2-3lb CRAPPIE...had to be 13-14 inches. I thought it was another bass but smaller. I took a picture of that but ill get that picture up later.
City: santa rosaTips: work your big plastics in 8-15 feet of water and just deadstick after the fall of the plastic. maybe even a 6 inch swimbait will work if you work it very very very slowly.
THERE ARE BIG ONES OUT THERE. THROW BIG STUFF.

Water Temp: ??? Probably co
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: whoops my bad... Not like I would catch anything anyway! With the water clarity I don't think it would matter if it was hot pink! lol I figured water displacement would be more efficient, but either way the spinnerbait would successfully fill the criteria for both overcast and muddy conditions. Shoot me an e-mail,if I am wrong, I am still kind of new to fishing!
City: Santa RosaTips: well I guess the posts before this one would be sufficient! Warmer weather is bound to come along sometime!

Water Temp: cold
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: oscar.....*sigh* with an overcast you do want to use a gold blade with your spinnerbait. if the sun is out its probably best to use a simple white or silver blade....proven.
City: Santa RosaTips: spinnerbait to cover water. or just wait for spring time =)

Water Temp: cold (just a wi
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Today was a nice day to go, but I didnt (sorry). Lake is obviously muddy and still getting higher. I guess this rain makes up for last years lack of it. Its a little late to say this but: happy new year to everyone! Once this weather clears up you will be seeing me and my dad out there trying not to get skunked! Anyway good luck everybody on their fishing wherever you go!
City: Santa RosaTips: If you do decide to head out in the rain, a jig is always a good choice. Maybe slow-rolling a big spinnerbait will produce. Something with scent/vibration/sound would be ideal here. Not so much something flashy as there is barely any visibilty and there isn't much light to reflect off of anyway. Good luck!!!

Water Temp: 47+
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Lake is now totally full, finally!!! Fish seems to be in the holes in the middle of the lake. Nothing around the shoreline. I think they where hunting after all the debris that came in after the storm. Lake is as muddy as I've ever seen it. Looks blown out until it clears. I tried anyway but had no takers. Fished a basstrix and senkos but nothing. Can't wait until it warms up.
City: Santa RosaTips: Fish the Northwest end and find the holes. They are down about 10-13 feet.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Hey Oscar, Try rainbow trout swimbaits like Huddleston or River2sea versions. I grew upon this lake and as a teenager I was catching bass to 10 lbs. Good luck!
City: AntiochTips: Everyone with a float tube likes to throw senkos and jigs on this lake. Switch it up....go with swimbaits. You won't get as many bites, but trust me, there are monster fish in this lake and they will eat a BIG bait.

Water Temp: 60's
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went to Spring Lake after school around 3:00 and fished until 5:00. Too bad I cant drive yet or I would have gotten there quicker! Anyway, fished with a smoke black senko with purple and had no takers, then I switched to a purple senko with blue. Once again, no takers, so I moved to the launch ramp with the purple senko and only had one bite and of course I didnt set the hook well enough and it got away. Felt like 2 pounds max. Worm was rigged wacky, and i worked it SLOWLY (maybe too slow! lol). Might be going with a buddy on tues. any help would be great for this time of year for me.
City: Santa RosaTips: I think that the fish are closer to the middle of the lake. Using a jig or flashy purple worm in the weeds in the middle of the lake might get a big one. Anyone who has good experience on this lake advice would be greatly appreciated!

Water Temp: Unknown
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Started out pretty early fishing from, around 8am. began with flipping a tube to some surface cover with no success. Saw 4 good sized bass go swimming by in front of me and cast my tube about 10 feet in front of them, got a nibble but the fish didn't want it that bad and spit it out. Moved down the lake and found a submerged log about 6 feet offshore, roughly 3 to 4 feet deep. Cast a 8" BPS Squirmin' Worm (Watermelon Red), rigged weightless & weedless to the side opposite of where I was and as it was floating down a bass came out of hiding and inhaled it. Landed the fish, probably about a pound, maybe a pound and a half. No action the rest of the day.

Water Temp: ~65-70
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I got out on the lake at about 7 with another guy and fished until 1:30. We were surprised at how stained the water was. Started fishing a rattle trap initially and got 3 fish in about an hour on isolated weed beds toward the middle of the lake. As the sun came up I fished a senko on the edge of the tules and caught a couple more keepers. The gentleman I was with also had luck flipping a senko into cover.
City: Santa RosaTips: It seemed like the bite shut off by early afternoon, so get out there as early as possible.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Rented a canoe at lake ralphine and spent about 2hrs trying to position the boat in order to catch a bedding bass. It wanted nothing to do with my jig, so i switched it up to a pegged tgexas rigged green with black flake tube. I had to hit it in the face a few times, then it took it. It was about 2lbs. I also threw a senko and a spinner bait all around the lake with no success. I then turned the canoe back in and walked over to spring lake. I threw a yamamoto creature around with no takers. The bass are post spawn at spring lake. You can see the minnows and large bass protecting the fry.
City: Santa RosaTips: If i were to do it again, I'd like to hit spring lake with a boat with a trolling motor. Id use a rip bait on one rod, a jig on another, a texas rigged tube, a senko, and a swim bait. I didnt fish spring lake very hard that day and stuck mainly to the boat launch. The water is clear so id keep the color choices to naturals. Good luck.

Report: Dropped my Ranger 335v in and proceeded to get troll the whole lake around and get nothing. Had one follow up on a swim bait around the big Island. Threw jigs, drop shot, senko, swimbait and no luck.
City: PetalumaTips: Listen to the last gut, not impressed.

Water Temp: cold
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Got a nice 4#er on senco first thing this afternoon. Then nothing for the rest of the day. Several people said they hadn't had a bite at all. First time fishing this lake. Seems to have alot of pressure on it there must have been 20 people on the bank and another 20 on the water. Got my fish in some tules and then my friend at the end of the day pulled up a dink in the same place. Honestly, wasn't really impressed.

I got a bass tube, boat would be nice to join in on though. write me back bklein@linfield.edu
City: SebastopolTips: senkos, plastic worms on a texas set-up will produce a nice catch.

Water Temp: 71.4
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished topwater in my tube from sunrise until lunch time. Caught 2 right off then had to really work for the rest. They didn't want anything fished fast.
Just a slow twitching minnow floater from the reeds or bank out 12 or 15 feet. They didn't kill it, they just took it under without a splash.
Nothing on frogs today.
City: Santa RosaTips: The weed is getting thick and the water is getting lower.

Water Temp: 55
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Got to the lake at around 7am to walk the shore, was there the night before and watched a guy pull in a 7lber..I got a 1-2lber that night but was dark so I had to go. I fished for about an hour and a half with no luck, til I saw movement under a tree. I dropped my senko in there and 3 minutes later I was getting my picture taken with a nice 10.4lber..I yes I put her back so that me kids will be able to caught nice size hogs like that when they're older..
City: Santa RosaTips: Bass are up close on the beds so please have quick hook sets and put them back so many years to come we'll be able to enjoy on of the Worlds greatest bass fisherys which just happens to be in are own back yard..
