Report: Well, here goes. My buddy John Kort and I ished the Semi Pro New Bass out o Brannon and what a crazy day it was. We made the long run to Whites and ound three boats right in the area we had been picking up ish. Bummer. We decided to pull back a hundred yards or so and work a dierent area until the traic cleared out and man am I glad we did. About 7:30 John hit a small 14 inch bass, but it's always nice to get that irst one in the boat. The only problem is right about that time we watched the guys on our point hit a nice 3 pounder. Arrrgh! We kept plugging away in the area and about 7:45 that magical delta window opened. In the next 5 minutes we hit a 6.4, 5.1 and a 4.8. It was on! We then went over to our regular area and picked up some more quality ish and had a nice 24-25 pound limit by 8:30. Things kind o slowed up a little bit, but by 12:30 or so and the wind howling the place went nuts again. We hit another 10 keepers or so, anchored by a 7.9 pounder. By this time we knew we had at least 27 pounds and headed in around 2:45. Believe it or not this is when it gets crazy. On the way back we hit a log and didn't think it was to bad until we got back and noticed that it had ripped up the prop and broke a piece out o the lower unit. Then we get back and ind out that the leader in the tournament has over 25 pounds. That a lot o weight considering it only took 16.5 pounds to win the same tourney last year. It seemed like orever but we inally got to weigh in. To our surprise we had 29.80 pounds and big ish. then came the shocker. The third to the last boat comes in with a pair o 8 pounders and a 35 pound limit. Holy S..t! by this time every one is just shaking their heads at the incredible weights. Keep in mind, this is a semi pro tourney. I can't imagine what the Barracks and Lees would o done on Sat. Anyways, we did manage 2nd place and 2nd big ish. Here's the kicker. On the way home we hit the biggest damn barn owl I have over seen. This thing scared the lie out o us, but apparently it didn't phase the owl, because we looked back and it just kept on lying out into a ield. Like I said, "one crazy day".
City: rosevilleTips: It would be unair to say what was really working, because I think the ish were hitting everything on Sat. Our pattern was dark plastics on lats. all we did was cast out and let the wind an current was the baits around and wait or the hit. We really has to let the ish have the bait. Sometimes giving the ish a 10 count. On the other end o the scale, we talked to the winners and they said they caught all o their quality ish tight on blades and senkos. They also said the ish were really inhaling everything they threw. It seems like everyone had a phenomenal day out there and 17-20 pound limits were the rule.

Water Temp: 52
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I ished the Newbass Semi-pro on Saturday out o Brannon Island State Park with my 8 year old daughter. I had some ish going around Bethel Island, and with the wind this is where I had to stay. (I was ishing out o my 15 t Cajun w/ 40hp). I was pitching a Senko around docks and tules or 7 ish that weighed 17.1lbs, biggest was 3.75lbs. Not a bad day since I was not able to ish many other spots. But there were some awesome weights, 35.25 to win, 29+ or 2nd and 25+ or third, and many weights around 20lbs. 17.1 was only good or 20th place, I thought there were 2 hp divisions, but I was wrong. All my ish came on Senkos, but alot o the bigger weights came on blades, rattle traps and Senkos. Many people stated they caught their ish in and around the Break. The event ran smoothly and Brannon sure makes it easy to get your boat in and out.
City: san joseTips: I was not even thinking reaction bite, but the big ones are eeding and active it would seem. I bet the Western Bass next weekend will have some giant weights.

Running against the in coming tide burned the oldest one out quick.

Report: American Bass Anglers club launched 6 boats rom the Don Pedro Marina, we rented two house boats or the night prior to the tournament which was a pleasant stay with excellent service. My Partner and I planned to ish the 49er area irst stop but ound plenty o boats there beore us, we ished a rocky point with wood close by and Gino stuck our irst ish which was 3.37 Pounds that ell or a darter head Yamamoto ( brown) hula grub. Ater ishing the area with no more bites we decided to run up the other arm to check out water alls I had ished in the past. The alls didnt give any ish so we trolled over to main lake secondary points.I stuck a 14" ish so we decided to stay and ish the area,we ound a bush that had ish stacked , the boat was above 30' o water and I splitshotted a 4" Robo worm through the bush- the ish would suck the worm in and as I elt added weight I would set the hook, the ish appeared to be in 12 -15 t o water. I stuck 3 more ish this way.We inished 1st place-Big Fish or 4 ish 8.26Lbs. 2nd Place weighed a limit or over 6 pounds and 3rd Place also weighed in the 6 pound range. The wind picked up in the late morning aternoon time.
City: MartinezTips: The wind made ishing alittle tough , I pointed the boat towards the wind to hold it paralell to the bank, added Fish attractant to my worms, the ish appeard to be stagingto go in and look or beds. Didnt get any reaction bites.Good Luck

Report: Club tournament saturday. 19 ished 7 limits. 4 blanks, ish were 5 to 25 eet deep. Watermellon baby brush hogs with black lakes carolina or split shot. Spinnerbaits in aternoon when the wind came up. My partner pat and I had heavy boat 2 limits 20.5 lbs. Bass were mix o large mouth and at little spots. Most were relating to shallow coves.Blade ish were in mud lines and points in wind.
City: sacTips: Pre spawn is coming. Bites were explosive and sudden. Hang on to your rod. I use power pro line with locarbon leaders.Maybe that's why the bites elt so good. two oot leaders worked good. Must be wood present or move on. Had to be watermelon color. Aqua view showed lots o ish 12 inches o the bottom moving around relating to wood. We averaged one good ish an hour. Wasted time ishing between coves. When the wind comes up throw white spinnerbaits or rettle traps in mud line driting with the wind.
