Report: DOUBLE TROUBLE! THERE TWO BASSCLUBS OUT THERE ON SATURDAY AND THERE WERE NO SUCCESSIVE PATTERNS TO BE FOUND. MAJORITY OF FISHERMEN GOT ONE AND ONE FISH. SPENT 8 HOURS ON THE WATER AND NOT EVEN A BITE FOR THE WHOLE LONG DAY. THEY WEREN'T DEEP, THEY WERE STILL SUSPENDED BUT NOT AGGRESSIVE WHATSOEVER. NEVER SAW THIS LAKE SO DEAD WITH NO ACTIVITY. ON THE DELTA LAST WEEK I WAS FISHIN' IN 67* TEMPS AND I WAS HOOKIN' 5'S & 4'S AND 3'S AND THEY WERE GORGING THEMSELVES.
      City: APTOS

Tips: HOPEFULLY, THE TEMPS HAS TO DROP ANOTHER 5 TO 10 DEGREES TO GET THE BASS TO BITE. BECAUSE I KNOW THIS IS A GREAT FISHERY. BUT NOT YESTERDAY................SO ITS BACK TO THE DELTA

Report: Guide trip out o Lundborg, still waiting ot the all bite to kick in. Started lippin Brown jigs and worms rom the start in the shallows at at high tide, caught 3 on the jig and 0 on the worm. While the water was still high we went to a rock bank with currentand started catching very small bass then got a couple o keepers and a 3lber all on cranks, Hot lips and bombers in craw colors. As the water started dropping we went to ish deep tules with a mild current, we got a couple 2-2 1/2s on the bomber then a 4 on a brush hog. O to another deep tule bank (deep tules 3-4 eet just below the tules) cranking a Luhr-Jnsen Hot -lips green craw color we got another 2 in the 2lb class and then a 6lber on a bomber. The tide bottomed out and is coming back in so we ran south to catch the same tide again and got a ew more 1-2lbers.
      City: Concord

Tips: Cranking deep tules at low tide has been working good or me, try a hot lips it something they haven't seen, Good Luck

Report: First time out on this lake ater a one month hiatus- more on that in a minute. I had a 2.5 hour window and I bet it all on getting the last piece o the season's reaction bite in the rock planters (that's downsized rock gardens). 5 strikes, 3 spots to 2.5lbs. Lake level is at 390t- lowest I can recall since the drought o the seventies. Dam releases remain steady at 1500 to 1700 cs all summer despite declining lows. I'm not a math wiz, but when releases remain constant rom a diminishing pool o water, that means the rate o the dropping level will accellerate. I need a hobby. My absence rom the lake was due to downtime ater a ire on my boat. It happened during a club tournament on the delta and the source was electrical. Some o you clones are thinking yep, that's the karma. Here's a couple tips: Store your ire exinguisher in a ront compartment away rom the usual sources o ires- the electrical and uel in the back. Also, buy the largest extinguisher you can. Mine was coast guard legal- did the lames care? It was done beore the lames were out. We were running past the launch trying to catch an incoming tide. We got it, and ater the episode was over, we drited back on the trolling motor, culled a couple keepers, and took third place. Forgot about my buddy Blademan catching a 7-8lb catish on a blade preishing or the event. C'mon Blademan, we've been over this- a spinnerbait is not a clam! Water's low everywhere. Blademan's at clearlake with Markey Rey and he tries to get into Rodman Slough. The boat's stuck and they're down to thier underwear walking around knee deep hundreds o yards o shore going "There's got to be a channel here somewhere" That had to be a sight.
      City: El Dorado Hills

Tips: The season is ast approaching where locating the ish requires locating the bait.

Report: Extremely tough today. Fished rom about 11am to 6pm. Zilch as in nothing. Threw everything. The ish are !@$%^^up. Saw some good size ones just sitting in the trees suspended. As I told Scott, they look like they have been heavily drinking or ive days. They can't see straight and don't want to move. You have to get them really early or late evening. Nighttime would be your best bet.
      City: Petaluma

Tips: I didn't do it today, but probably should have. Split-shot small baits would be a pretty good idea. Also dropshot and small dartheads with grubs. Scott is gonna love these tips. Har Har. Maybe very irst thing in the morning throw topwater(spook) and try the jig on main lake points beore the sun comes up. Good luck. Don't worry Scott I haven't dropshotted yet because I leave the rod at home. Still throwing big baits.

      Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished rom 11:30am to about 4pm. Caught two ish on the small optimum swim baits(shad color). Both ish about 11/2or 2lbs. Very slow ishing. As usual I tried everything. Buzzbait, spook, senko,hot-lip,jig,carolina rig. Caught both ish in about 8or9eet o a point going north rom the launch on the let side. Marked a lot o ish suspended. Even threw rip bait and blade. Where's Paul Duclos when you need him? Simply were not biting.
      City: Petaluma

Tips: I hear 46degree water is what the big ones like in this lake. That's gonna take a while. Your guess is as good as mine. Keep throwing big baits. You'll never know when you're going to get yanked in. Remember you're not ishing or guppies.

      Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went fishing last Thursday 10/11 during the day, and Saturday night 10/13. Thursday was a decent day. It was a little slow, but consistant, a couple fish each hour. I managed 18 fish, all but 4 were good fish. Nothing huge, but my best five going around 10.8 pounds. The fish are nice and fat right now. Fish that would have only been a pound, pound and a half a few months ago are solid 2's. I tried everything, and with the exception of 3 early on spooks, the only thing I caught fish on was dropshotting 4" worms. Color didn't seem to be an issue, I caught on 3 completely different colors (all that I tried). I personally found two distinct levels of activity, 40-45ft and 80-85ft. All my dropshot fish came at one of these two levels. Caught a good mix, 6 largemouth, 5 smallmouth, 7 spots. Saturday night was not as productive, only managed 8 fish. I caught them all dragging 7" black power worms from shore out to about 20ft. Maybe I should have tried deeper, I have a bad habit of automatically casting to shore at night, even when I am on them deep during the day. I think even at night, you shouldn't be afraid to try going deep as well. I had kind of a rough summer at berryessa, I think it is definately starting to pick up.
      City: Fremont/Dixon

Tips: Use your graph and look for the baitfish, even if you don't mark fish with them, take note at their depth and consentrate on that level. Like I said I noticed two distinct levels of baitfish activity, if I was off by 5ft. I would not get a bite. I really had to zone in on those two depths.

Report: BassBusters was out at Berryessa this weekend and it was tough. It was about 90+ outside and the water was still up to 70 degrees. It was a small tournout for us only 5 boats (the smallest I've seen in 5 years). The winning weight I don't even remember but it was one with 4 fish and the big fish was around 2.5 lbs. As the report before this says they can be caught on Cranks, or you can go deep with Drop Shot or Split shot rig. Still alot of bait for the fish to pig out on so deciding whether to eat your fake stuff or the real stuff is not a tough decision for the fish. Sometimes during the day your electronics screen would just go black with the shad & fry in the water. Trout fisherman we talked to also said it was tough for them as well.
      City: San Jose

Tips: The bass are there and although I'm to a regular to this lake I've heard that they will turn on in the fall and you can pick up some good limits. Only advice I could give you is wait until that time comes.

Report: Well my buddy and I hit the good old Delta once again. We launched out o hollands and headed to our avorite spot. First cast with a rootbeer senko and a 3lb. Nothing more or a while. Headed to Franks tract to see i we could get any stripers. Got about 10 on rat-l-traps to about 2lbs. Headed back to our earlier spot and the stripers were everywhere. Caught about 10 more one just under 5lb. I got another 3lb Largemouth on a rat-l-trap. The weather was great all day no wind and not to many people on the water. My buddy snagged his senko on a tule and as he was reeling it in a good sized largemouth took a shot at it. We tried blades and speedtraps with no takers in the evening. All in all a great day.
