Water Temp: 60
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the Newbass Northern Team event out o the North Shore and had a great day. Started out in the river above the bridge with topwater and had a 3.23 and 2.0 in the well beore 7 AM. Cranked another a little later then moved to an area just above the 20 mph buoys and cranked two more. Found some dredger tailings orming a little bowl-like area and with a white on gold spinnerbait caught about 15 ish in the next hour or so. Culled a 16.41 limit to place 4th overall.
City: RosevilleTips: Reaction was our trick o the day, but others were carolina riggin' lizards and 6" worms to get their ish.

Water Temp: 58-59
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished GCB tourney out o redbud. My partner, DaveB banged a 4+ right away about 300 yds rom ramp. Good start. We buzz up to jago pt where he bangs another 4. I am glad this is a team event. Finally I contribute w/a 2.5 lb on a spinnerbait. We leave this area in search o similiar areas and dont get touched. We went back to Jago and I catch a 5 on white spinnerbait. I then pick up a senko and bang a 3.6. Things are good. We have a limit by 10 am. We mess w/senkos or 45 minutes or so. I get another bite that swims at the boat. I set and get a 6+. Thank you God! Culling by 11. We leave this area and hit the back o konocti, anderson island, the back o the rattlesnake arm and never get touched. Back to Jago a third time and we are both thinking we may not get another bite. He puts on a roghair jig and beore too long sets on a 6+. About 2:30 we see a 5+ swimming real shallow but cant get it to bite. We weighed in 26.11 or 5 ish . Only 8 bites, but we got 7 into the boat!

Report: STARTED FISHING AS SOON AS SKI CLEARED. WINDY SO I WENT TO MORMON CREEK. FISH WERE ALL UP SHALLOW.MANY CAME IN AND FISHED DEEP WITH NO LUCK. AFTER HOUR OF TRYING I FOUND THAT THEY LIKED A 4 INCH JUNEBUG GRUB. MISSED OUT ON ATLEAST 10 FISH. GRUB WAS TOO BIG. WENT TO A SMALL YAMAMOTO CRAW (220) THEY COULD HANDLE THAT. REAL SOFT BITE. HAD TO LEAVE MY ALUMN.TIN CAN CANT FIGHT THE WIND. GO WITH THE COLORS OF THE SURROUNDINGS AND SMALL AND SLOW.
City: MODESTOTips: MORMON CREEK , YAMAMOTO 220 PURPLE CRAW SLOW AND SHALLOW.

Pillsbury Lake

Water Temp: Unknown
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: There is nothing to report. It was too windy to troll and there aren't any ish in this lake anyway except squawish. The logging road (i you can call it that) is worse than ever. Nice lake as ar as being quiet but probably because the road is so terrible and there are no ish in the lake. I hear the trout that they do catch are caught trolling on the west shore or with salmon eggs down the eel river. Both ailed or us.

San Justo Lake
-
Water Temp: 59
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished late aternoon ollowing a cold ront that blew through on Friday. Worked the shallows out to 10 t. My only bite was a 6-7 lbs bass that drug a lot o line o my reel beore breaking the surace like a nuclear sub (no Japanese ishing boats in the area this time) and tossing my senko back at me. Monster ish. A couple o bank isherman were catching trout. Trolled or trout on the way in and caught one and lost one.
City: Foster CityTips: Don't stay with one lure like I did when you are not getting bites. The water was stained ater the rain and a reaction bait like a blade or crank was probably more appropriate than what I was throwing. It may have been a cold ront lock jaw situation however.

Report: Fished in the Redwood Empire Bass Club tourney on Saturday. We had 38 anglers on 20 boats. 1st place or 5 ish was Jared Adams with 16 lbs. Big ish on the day weighed over 7lbs landed by Dan Brothers and there were several ish in the 4-5lb range. The warm weather has really turned on the bite and the ish are starting to move onto beds. As they say, it's "wide open". Plastics are still the key bait. I landed 15 ish (8 over 13") to 2.5 lbs mostly on Senkos. Water temp should be in the mid-60's by the end o the week.
City: Rohnert ParkTips: The Senko bite is turning on. Fish around lay downs near spawning areas. Look or bed ish.

Spring Lake
-
Water Temp: 60 or so
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I love Spring Lake. It's right here in the middle o town, outrageously beautiul, and holds possibly some o the biggest largemouth bass in the world. However, it's also sometimes very crowded, always ished a lot, and unwilling to throw a bone my way in the orm o a ish or two. But I go anyway. Every so oten my persistence is rewarded. Six weeks ago I caught one ish in three hours o ishing---a 7.4 on a Senko. The last several times beore and ater that were skunksville (probably just a testiment to my ishing abilities). Then today. Fish all over the place, ry all over the place. I practically rip their little guts out with my trolling motor. Sunny. Windy. Warm. Perect. I go to a shallow area with a drop o and throw, o course, a Senko. An almost imperceptable "tick" on the end o the line tells me it's probably a small buck, but at least I won't get skunked. Set the hook, then WHAM! She turned out to be a beauty. I'd do her i I was a ish. Over and over again. She weighed in a portly 9.4, with a belly ull o eggs. My biggest bass yet. I orgot the camera, but my girlriend was there to see her, too. She even netted the ish. What more can I say? Perect experience. Leave the lake, go home, and be happy.

Cachuma Lake
-
Water Temp: 68?
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I camped at Cachuma or our days. Each day i took my boat out or some ishing. The water was very clear at spots and i cought about our trout each day, ishing near the entrance o Santa Cruz Bay, good ishing there because o underground river running through. All trout there are large because o depth i think. Bass ishing was slow but i saw most o the action around the submerged islands (it goes rom 80'-15'). Trout ight hard here. Good luck!
City: RedlandsTips: Trout- lashers on swivel with 2 1/2 oot leader with night crawler. Also, the original weight and power bait set up.Bass- I used small lures but then again i didn't have too much luck.

Loch Lomond Lake
-
Water Temp: 60
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I ished this lake the past three weeks. The bass are along the banks and can be caught i you have the patients to tease them or an hour or so with a craw/jig or a large trout plug. The trout are all 10 to 14 inches and tere are alot o them. They are still shallow and they are all located at the north end o the lake. I liked trolling with a small shad colored plug [2" repala].Power bait works well but the trout swallow it. when you troll you can shake the small ones o.
City: Boulder CreekTips: Fish a small trout or shad plug with no lashers at the north end o the lake in shallow water [20 eet].

Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: A little shout-out a couple o my bass brothers should pay attention to. Unortuantely, they won't- they don't engage in dock talk. Over 20 spots to 2.5lbs various banks in the north. My bass brother Markey Ray and my other brother Markey Ray have always pondered why does the bass eat the jig and not the spinner. Don't give me that "well they react to the lash and see the jig. When you ish spinnerbaits at night what do they hit? Message to Mark & Mark- let it go man, please just let it go... Besides here's a solution that will make you culling ools at your next event on this lake. The secret is in-line spinners. Just think, the bass eats the jig and the spinner- together! I hope they try them. It will bring closure. My kids cast spinners and when they are not hooking each other's Osh Kosh, they just wear em out. As a parent, you haven't lived util you've been whacked in the back o the head with 1/4 oz Mepps Bumble Bee colored Agila. In another Millenium archeologists will examine the remains my brother Markey Ray and my other brother Markey Ray and the irst clue will be all the Copenhagen cannisters strewn about. That will coincide with the abnormal wear on the molars. The smaller size o thier craniums will be readily apparent and initially the will conclude Oh, Nascar ans. The tell-tale evidence however will be the gouges in the back o the skull rom all those Rooster Tail hooks that penetrated all the way to the bone. Scientiic evidence will reveal the truth- they were trying to be bass ishermen.

Report: This is a true testament to the lack o ishing ability I have and the GREAT sportmanship, tenacity and Angler proiciency o Mr. Mike O'Brien! I'm new to N. Cal, rom Texas and just got back into Bass angling, well, Mike O'Brien saw my desperate plea on this site or some tips, and low and behold, he invited me out to ish Lake Sonama on his NEW Nitro 18'6" Green/Gold Glitter boat w/135 hp motor. Needlees to say I was happier than a two peckered water bualo to accept.Well, it was cold, wet, cloudy, rainy and windy!!!!!!!! We ished Cherry Creek, got out there around 8:15 am. Anyway, within 5 mintues Mike landed a 1-1.3 pounder on a white Senko. I've never heard o Senko beore so I ound this new bait very interesting. Another 15 minutes later Mike landed another 2 pounder, then 3 punder, then 3.5 then 4 then another 4.5, then another 3.5 and right around 12:30 pm a MONSTEROUS,BODACIOUS, HUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEE 7-7.5 HHHHHAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! Me, NOT a Dag'um thing! That's ishin! So once again, I take my hat o to Mike O'Brien and thank him or the lesson and angler sportsmanship!!!Thanks Mike or invitin' me out!!!!!!!

Report: As o yesterday there was a good blade bite going on. Caught a lot o males and a ew emales. It was too windy to try and ish plastics. So I just picked up the blade and started to get bites right away. I kind o stumbled onto it. Flats, gradual banks and steep banks all had ish. Just keep moving and throw the blade. You'll be pleasantly surprised just like I was.
City: PetalumaTips: Chartreuse/white blades with some kind o crawdad plastic trailer worked or me. Like the G-Man said, stick with it and don't give up. Be aithul to what your using. With the warm weather coming back, the lake should be ready to explode by early next week.
