Report: A buddy and I caught 20+ ish today at CFW. Most ish were in the 1-3lb. and were caught using weenie worms. These ish love worms that have green tails. Tried spinnerbaits, brush hogs, and larger worms with no success. Many o our ish were caught in 10-15 eet o water. None o them were near the bank. I don't think this lake has really turned on but when it does look out! I've gone through several packs o worms ishing this lake and even had a day were we caught 100+ ish.
      City: sacramento

Tips: Make sure you have plenty o worms with green tails or this lake.

      Water Temp: 54-58

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I had an enjoyable 4 hour aternoon trip with 3 generations o male companions - grampa at near 80 years young, his son, and 4 year old grandson. How's that or a mix!! Anyway, they had haver ished much, much less bass ished - so, I had my hands ull! We split-shot Morning Dawn Magic worms, and wound catching 8 spotted bass and 2 largemouth. The biggest bass was a 2 lb 2 oz spot. We ished mostly in the river arm, and could see bass crusing around. I did catch one on a Senko, and lost a big bass on a Senko in a bush! Average depth o the bass was 5 to 10 eet. They were on points, and in back o some coves already. Big ish should start moving in any time, as long as the weather stays warm.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Collins needs to get over 60 degrees or the ishing to break wide open. I have not ound Collins to be an early lake - mid April to mid May are primetime, usually!

      Water Temp: 62.5 to 64.1

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Several pounders were around the dock, like a school o Piranha. No wading! Arrived at 7AM water temp 62.5. Went to the North end behind the 5mph bouys. Ater about an hour o not even a smell on all sorts o plastics in the rocks and trees, decided to throw a crank. This is not a commerical or Bill Dance, but I was using a Suspending Fat Free Shad in the Threadin Shad color. Nothing complicated on how it was worked. They didn't want it ripped, stop and go, or paused or a count. Just throw it out and crank it in; walla, crankbait. 5:1-1 reel used. Caught 3 ootballs in the 2 pound range and one skinny gal about 4. The ish were in the cockel burrs, but had to stay back so as not to spook. They were skidish. All o the ish ate the bait almost as soon as I started moving it. I let at 11:30 and the water had warmed to 64.1
      City: Easton

Tips: Not a an o crankin' as it is not un ishing. Try any place that has cockle burrs on the bank. The steep banks, thus deeper banks produced better. Good luck

The ish were biting rom mid-morning until the time we let. About 25 total with 3 over the slot. We had a lot o action in the North Fork just north o Bloomer Ravine.
      City: Yuba City

Hooked 10 fish, landed 9, best weight for 5 fish was 10.5. When I wasent fishing I was just thanking my lucky stars of having this lake so close in early spring. Only saw three other bass boats. Lake was like glass for most of the day.

      Water Temp: 60ish?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the boat ramp and caught 15 fish best was 3# femal with a big belly. It was very windy and it made it hard to feel the bites but a magic worm did the trick and they wouldn't let it go helping me catch them. I moved to the calm side of the ramp and started throwing top water and the second cast produced a 2 pounder. The next cast in a calm pocket got destroyed by a 5# male. The fish was in a foot and a half and in front of a guy who had been fishing there for a long time with no bites. He was in shock, hehehe. Fun day.
      City: Mountain View

Tips: I down sized my rig to light line and heavy weight to fish in the high wind. The bite was not easy pickens as it was the week before but they are still there. The water temp has come down from the receint front that moved threw and I was finding them way off shore as far as I could cast. 6" worms in light colors were the best. The 4" worms just didn't get the bites for some reason.

Report: Fished near the Stockton area in those back coves, and was killing them with my white tandem terminator spinnerbait. Just targeted edges of the weeds, and was hitting on a fish every 20 or so yards. All males, in the 3 to 4 pound range. Wasnt burning the bait, but had a steady retreaval. Going to fish Calero back in San Jose tomorrow so look for my fishing report there. good luck.
      City: san jose

Tips: titanium wire spinners, well worth the money. Had mine for two years, a little paint chipped, but still runs straight and true.
