Report: got in at 9AM, air temp 46, jones valley loat up on the beach, the track is busted, went up to the top o squaw creek, banged around and couldn't get anything going on the drop shot, water very murky and stu loating in it rom the rain, very cloudy, no wind, ran back down hitting dierent spots, had one pulldown on the drop shot on a blue ghost but he let go, ran back dodwn to the stumpield just north o the rockpile and started picking them up in 48 t o water on Big Daddy's worm and a 1/4 oz darter head, I really had to let them load the rod bigtime or all u got baack was hal a worm or no worm at all. 11 hits, 6 on with 5 in the boat, all were 1.6 lb spots/clones. I had to ish very slowly and nearly straight up and down due to all the stumps in the area. The deepest came out o 53 t. and had to be dellated. This year the pressure bite is something to behold, I had to let the rod load with about a 4 inch bend in it or no go. Nothing bothered my jigs at all. Spoke to 4 others, 3 claimed they got blanked, one guy, a regular had two in his livewell. temp got up 63 by the time I let, the cloud cover seemed to help as the day went on.

Report: Looked for stripers and found them in Franks. Near the middle. Big hungry school wanted everything we threw. Ripbaits, traps, senkos, swimbaits all worked. Ripbaits caught the most. We need a major front to move in and the bite will explode! Didn't get any toads except one over 15#'s. Still seeing lots of bait.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished out of Hook Saturday, Dec.16. Decided to try rip bait in same areas I got fish week before. Started slow, a couple of small fish (0.5-1.5 lbs) the first hour, decided to move along looking for new areas in the slough, same pattern as week before on Sunday, would catch 2-4 fish from a general area then nothing along a stretch. Ended up with 21 black bass and one 10-12 lb striper. Actually was my best day ever on the delta for size and quality so far. Fish were better size, good number of them over 2 lbs, and put two nice ones in the boat, one 4.5 and the other around 5. The 5 biggest would have made a bag of about 16+ lbs. Once again lost 4 other good fish (looked to be 3-5 lbs). While I can understand the skepticism, in three trips I have now put more than 70 - yes, that's seventy bass in the boat, and If anyone wishes to follow along with me, or take a back seat the next time I go out (after Christmas) I would be happy to oblige (no financial obligation to the passenger on this trip. One warning - there are no seats in the boat, I stand up and fish hard all day long, but would not mind the company to verify what I have blindly stumbled on to. It's hard work - not simply pulling up to a spot and loading the boat, but continuously hunting for likely areas in a general region that you know holds fish, and keeping your line in the water. Happy holidays to all, and God bless.
City: Half Moon BayTips: Rippin is the wrong term for what I do. While it is a rip bait, I crank it down, then twitch the bait along with hard jerks of the rod, then let it set a few seconds after twitching it hard 1, 2 or 3 times in a row. You gotta let it sit a bit, and should be ripping it out of weeds once in a while. If you ain't hitting weeds every so often, your luck is much poorer. Don't know how much longer this bite will hold up, so go give it a try!

Report: got going real late, in the water at 1245Pm at Jones Valley, wind up and blowing about 15mph, the jones valley loat was pushed up against the bank creating problems or some older gentlemen trying to put their jetcrat in. got them squared away and decided to run around and just look things over, lake has come up a oot with the rain to 64t, a bit murky, ran up to panther canyon, no ish where I ound them the other day, up to arbuckle, no ish again except or a ew trout in the lat o o arbuckle, sugarpine had a ew in 45t o the main point, they were not interested in my drop shot, watched the resident bald eagle at sugarpine nail a large trout, he had to swim it to shore to get it out o the water, ran back down to Clickapudi and tossed a jig at one o the stumps and "WHAP" something dang near ripped the rod out o my hand, it elt unny and up comes a large rainbow with my jig stuck in the side o his head, he rolled in the line and busted o. The wind quits and I spend an hour and a hal running around looking at the bottom over by squaw creek, ound a bunch o ish o o squaw point in the trees that are coming up right at sunset, get back to the ramp and the same gentlemen are there struggling to get their rig on the trailer, I run it up on the trailer and they show me two nice trout rom the upper end o the pit. in at 63 degrees, out at 51, temp dropped 10 degrees in 15 minutes as the sun went down. Lots o trout active in the upper Pit, quite a ew shad around but not much bunched up, they are all spread out. Pressure bites are the rule now, morning bite the best and the earlier the better. A good bite is reported by a reliable riend in the AM in the upper squaw and McCloud o o steep rocks in deep water on green worms with chartruese tails.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Launched at around 10:30 fished San J. looking for Cooch's fish. Didn't find em, a bit windy today. Finally got fish to bite a 3/8 Persuader dbl willow in chart/blue. Nice fish, too. Full figured even. Caught another on a chart/green Timber Tiger DC-5. Kept fishing that crank, and got another hit. A Steelhead? Looked like a BIG trout to me. Got it up in the boat, and it flops over sticking the trebles in my pants. The fish is stuck to my knee and thrashing! I stood up before the hooks could go any deeper. The steelhead comes off. WHEW! The wind was howling and I didn't want to retie. Grabbed up another stick with a DC-8 tied on it. Made a few casts, started wondering what in the heck am I still fishing out here for? Then I got real good bite the largemouth went somewhere between five or six. OH yes baby! My day of dealing with the wind was over! I headed for port, feeling good!
City: Rio VistaTips: ON these really windy days, there isn't a lot of boat traffic. You can pretty much have the whole place to yourself. GO fishing anyways! Let the girly men stay at home and watch football! HAR!
