Report: I am presenting this report because I promised Mr. Bill Lloyd who was helpull to me. the Red blu bass anglers ished a tournament which started at 6:pm saturday the 19, and ran till midnight there was a weigh-in and one hour lay over and the tournament continued rom 1:am till 7:pm on sunday morning.. The tournament was won by Ron Yancey with just under 20 lbs. He shook black large plastics on poles all night on the south end o the lake. Big ish o the tournament 6 1/2 pounds was caught by Dan Padilla on a black buzz bait in the last hal hour o the tournament at Tule Island. His partner Bill Prince also buzzed a ish there 10 minutes later. Tim Vanek caught ish on a black 1/2 oz. jig on a rock point on the south end. Eric John using a black worm shook a ish o a pole pre-midnight in the south end. My partner rank Gutierrez and I caught 6 ish all on plastics in the sough end.. We had to blow ups on the black buzz bait right at dusk but caught neither ish. For me the key to ish was to ind a dock loating with lots o poles around it and ishing the darkest side. The ish were all caught between 2 and 15 eet most in the 2 to 4 oot range. It was slow but un..TOM
      City: Red Blu

Tips: The bite is changing daily, some good days top water and some not as good.. used large black with red lake plastics 10 1/2 or larger.

Report: Creek side o lake never lets me down. Found a nice hump in 15' o water with wood on the creek where it was making a bend. Oh mama, good spot!!! Nothing under 3#'s and I managed to get 6 ish o that one perect piece o structure. Stayed on top o the creek looking or wood or humps. Fish all over but seemed to be moving around staying close to the creek. Caught a total o 16 ish up to 4#'s. Missed a ew, more than I would like to admit, including some heavy, thought they were snags, ish. Those big ish can ool ya. They don't hit like smaller bass. They just pick it up eel ya pull and spit it out beore you can put it to them. I have a hard time ishing rom my tub sometimes, this was my irst time out with it this year and I was a bit rusty at eeling the ish. What a nice way to spend the day.

Tips: Jigs,Jigs and Jigs working or better quality any ways.

      Water Temp: Not known

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: 08/28/00 - McClure, weather sunny and warm, in the 80's, with a good breeze, just what wasneeded or top water action. Started at 10:30 on the West side o ------------ with a Fenwick.Nothing was working. Moved around the island and whammmm, a 4 plus pounder o the NEpoint, got a picture to prove it too. Pulled our more o the same point beore it went dead.Noticed ish working shad in 60-80 eet o water o the SE island point. Put the Little Fenwickright in the middle and was paid o with another 3 plus pounder. Pulled a couple more 2 pluspounder beore it died. Anchored o the point waiting or the ish to turn on again. In 20 min. thewind came up and so did the ish. Something big broke the water and missed the irst strike. Hereturned a second time taking it under. He almost unspooled me beore I got him turned andcoming my way. Fighting all the way I got him within 20 yards o the boat when my line wentlimp. Pulling up the lure I noticed one o the back hooks was straightend, that was worth the ighteven i I didn

Tips: Bring a good selection o top water baits. Look or the ish busting shad when the wind is up and the water has good wave action. I was throwing a crome belly black backed Fenwick Darting Bait. Sorry, they're not made any longer. Also a Rebel, 4 1/2 inch, Jumpin' Minnow, bone color. Those can still be purchased locally.

Report: Fished the lake Fri., Sat and Sun. The ishing was best onmain lake points in the mornings and evenings, but I caught a ew keepers during the day as well, I just had to move rom point to point to keep the action going. I would catch 2 ish, then have to move because the bite would shut o at that point. I didn't catch a dink all weekend - strange. The biggest o the weekend was about 14", the smallest about12". Not a good outing or big ish, but a steady bite o 13"ers. Most daytime ish came on a carolina rigged 4" zoom lizard.Evening ish were caught on a texas rigged 6" lizard. Colordidn't matter so much. Most ish were spots with a largemouthhere and there.
      City: Fremont

Tips: Slow down, and ish at 40+'. Several o my heat o the day ish were caught within stones throw o a jet ski by just being SLOWWWWW. Go easy on the trolling motor, just use to hold you in place and go Slow way down. There's ish on almost every point. I outished a lot o expensivebass boats this weekend on my crappy, rental ishingboat because I'm not araid to sit and ish deep.Good LuckJim

Report: WOW what a night! Best night bass ishing in my lie, thanks Clear lake!started out at 7:00 p.m. out o M&M. Hit the back side o Rattlesnake.Second cast with the green rog (Thanks or the tip Larry) put 4.3 lb'er in the boat! Fished there until dark, had one more blow up on the rog, but all we saw o her was huge "Bucket" coming straight at us, missed that one! Nothing on spooks either.Ran to Dollar island, and Buckingham, no luck. Then headed to shag around 11:00 p.m. and the un started! Lost a 12" camo power work on a big ish that screamed straight out o o the bank into deep water, should have had a stinger hook in the rear! But then in the exact same spot 15 mins. Later, stuck a 10.2 LB pig! Biggest bass o my lie! Might have been the same ish? Picked up a 2.2 as well out o the same "hole".Ran back to dollar island around 12:30 a.m. and nailed 9.4 Lb'er! Second biggest Bass o my lie! My hooked popped out as the ish rolled next to the boat and my partner Tim took a blind swipe at it with the net and came up with the ish! Phew, thanks Tim!Best two ish went 19.6 lbs.!!! and I had 26.1 lbs. with 4 ish! Both pigs came on 12" camo power worms in 5' o water or less. We ished until 3:00 a.m. and headed back to Sac! Report: Never ished Merced beore; went there Saturday and it was a complete waste o time. About two iteen ishermen scattered along south shore o north lake, looking glum, with nothing to show or their eorts. Saw only one person catching anything; he was ishing or catish with anchovy pieces. He caught two large catish (app. 10 lbs) but one was sick-looking and had maggot-like parasites all over it. Talked to a couple o guys ishing or trout; they said that ishing "isn't nearly as good as it was last year," and blamed this on the person in charge o restocking, who, they said, stocks only 100 ish at a time, which are quickly ished out.As or the south lake, there is no place to ish rom except the one boat pier that is not closed o, and it is so beouled with bird dung that the stench is overwhelming. Indeed, the whole area around the boat docks reeks, and the water itsel looks stagnant and oul.
      City: San Francisco

Tips: None, except that anchovy chunks seem to work or the catish.

Report: talked to at least 15 guys today while at work, lots o small dinks being caught with only a ew keepers reported, shrimp spawn is over, lots o small shad up on the top but not much going on below them, watched my ishinder as I traveled around and the ish are spread out, ound a couple o large bait balls in 40t o water at the top o Squaw creek in Flower Gulch with some ish working them, ski traic is very heavy and the ishing is slow in those main lake areas, the upper Pit is catching most o the ishing action above the no ski buoys, the lake is down to 55 1/2 t and dropping about 6 inches per day, the temp is slowly starting to drop, down orm 80plus to about 77 in most areas, things should improve quickly ater labor day is over with.
