Then my father in law gets a 2.5 on a buzzbait and I am thinking FINALLY a topwater pattern. NOT!!!! that was it for topwater, my team partner stuck two frog fish across the slough as we proceeded to do the pre-fish gig. I ended up Flipping 7 more keepers up to 2 1/2 lbs.

Tips: I have to say Tidal movement, and Flip Flip Flip it is the only consistent pattern I have confidence in.

      Water Temp: 72-75

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: My buddy and I launched out of Ladds. Didn't know there were three tournaments today. We gout out just ahead of the tournament guys. Ran to 14 mile slough. Fished a while with topwater, no takers. We started up the slough and threw alot of different things. Finally about 8:30 we each caught a fish on crankbaits. Later we ran ro Disappointment slough. fished around a while. Like other reports not much action on the tule side so we switched to the rip rap side. I hooked into a 1-1/2 pounder and within 10 minutes hooked a 3-1/4 pounder using dark colored worms. A few other bites but only four fish the entire day. Tons of boat traffic due to the tournaments as well as the inconsiderate skiers.

Report: Launched at Ladds in Stockton at 5:45am. The wind was really blowing. Had to use 24 volts on the trolling motor all day just to stay on spot. Fished Mildred with top water stuff till 7:30 (noting would hit). Fished various spots all along the Delta on our way to Franks Tract. We were able to hit a few small blacks (1 lb average) and alot of small stripers using silver and black Rattle Traps along the tules at the edge of Piper Slough. We even tried trolling with the Rattle Traps. We had constant action on small stripers while doing this. I guess we have to wait a few more weeks before things pick up.
