I caught more trout than most o the trout isherman did, and I wasn't even going or 'em! Talked to a ew guys that were trout ishing and no one had caught anything. Later beore we let there was some kids just like screwin' around there on the dock and somehow caught a trout. About 12". While I had one line out or Catish, I was ishin' or largemouths with another line. Around 10:00 I picked up a 1.25# LM Bass o a t-rigged 10" chartreuse Power Eel. Then later I picked up another one on the other side o the dock with the same thing. This one was a little bigger. It went about 1.75#. So ya...don't bother or catish or a little while. It was VERY SLOW today. We were there like all day. Good luck...

Report: Got to Calero about 5 pm and launched in my kickboat. On the third cast I caught a nice 4.3 lber. Also caught a 1.5 in the same area. Fished the shorelines and weeds just about the whole time. There are even more weeds since the lake level dropped about 2 t in the past couple weeks. As the sun was dropping i tied on a new Skitterpop to try the topwater bite. I directed my casts to pockets in the weed beds and landed 8 ish rom 1 lb to 2.5 lbs in the last hal hour. The was the irst time I've caught ish with a topwater... what a rush! I also had about 4 ish blow up on it and miss.

Caught one jig ish and missed one early. Then got bit on platics all day till we let at 2pm. Concentrate on all points.Main lake or river arm,it didn't matter. Boated 16 ish up to 2 1/2 lbs. Mostly smallies. I'm not sure i the spawn is over.Saw lot's o empty beds, and some ry. Alot o the ish appeared pre spawn, even though the water temp is high. maybe they just loaded up ater the spawn, but they are all atties. Missed alot, as they seemed to only pick it up at the tail. Also, most o the ish were on a sponge bite.I you elt weight,a hookset was mandatory. For those o you that stayed home this weekend, too bad,as we only saw about 10-12 boats on the water, that included trout isherman.Beautiull day,and the ish were hungry.Don't get any better than that.
