      Water Temp: Hi 60's

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished the 'Guad' on Sunday, working my kickboat cautiously down the steep banks to the waterline. Got going around 6 a.m., & was helped by a light og that hung around or a couple o hours to prolong the morning bite. Fished primarily across the lake, in shady areas, with most o my success coming around allen timber, submerged brush and the back ends o the coves. Caught a couple o dinks on my Lucky Crat jerkbait; then I switched to a split-shot Roboworm. Lo & behold, when I started winding one cast back in, just outside a submerged tree, I got a powerul hit - by a big ol' RAINBOW! The ish was around 18"; I igure it was around 2-1/2 lbs. or so - a real beauty! How did this sucker get in the lake? I surely don't know. I've never heard o this particular lake being stocked with trout; nor do I believe it could've climbed the spillway on its own, but who knows? Maybe someone planted this ish illegally? When I irst let it go, it went up on its side. My irst attempt at resuscitation resulted in it idling away, then returning to the surace. On my second attempt, however, I rocked it & rocked it, then pushed it away, and or an extra incentive, I kicked out with my ins to startle it a bit, at which point it headed (healthily?) to the depths, apparently to ight again another day! Ater this catch, I started tossing an unweighted Yamamoto Senko, which yielded several nice ish over a pound & a hal, topped by a nice **3.7 lb'er**, which had snuggled under some loating debris at the tail end o a small inlet. Caught another one or two on a T-rigged, craw-pattern reaper. Otherwise, a couple o taps on the Senko, but no other takers. All in all, a pretty decent morning - it sure is nice having a lake all to yoursel, on a **weekend**, no less! Oh, yeah: I saw lots o small bass ry, already in the 2-to-4-inch range -- good promise or a healthy, sel-sustaining ishery! Let's keep this little gem a secret!
      City: San Jose

Tips: Be careul on those steep banks. I'm really beginning to love that Senko!

Report: Launched on Saturday around 11:30am. Caught 2 right away on a C-rig. Then the bite was gone until about 3pm. A buddy met me at 3pm. While he was standing on the dock he tossed a spider grub right next to the dock and landed about 1.8lb. We continued around the lake throwing spider grubs, worked slowly on the bottom in about 17ft. water. We landed 11 fish and lost four. Nothing bigger than two pounds. Still was a fun day. We had doubles twice during the day.

Caught three nice ones o the handicap dock with power bait. Other anglers also had great success around the Ranger station on powerbait. Keep you posted through out the week.

      Water Temp: 69-72

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Put in this morning at 6AM with client Tim Mathews (TimDog) did an Instructional on Ledge fishin, the fish were there but a very lite "tic tic" but, we manage to get some...they were in the undersize catogory. Switch to a weed bed pattern in deeper water and immediately caught better fish using Snoozerbaits "Thrasher". Continued instructional request "Dinks". By 9AM we did a change up on the ledges and grass bed and started throwing Spinnerbaits (White) smoked them on windy banks. Ran the rest of day just show and tell. Best 5 went around 10lbs,,, the fish are diffently in a post-spawn.
      City: Castro Valley

Tips: Watch your depthfinder (Front) for the ledge and drop your "confident" bait down. Suggest leavin it there until you can figure out witch way they will eat it in presentation. If this doesn't get them slow roll a spinnerbait to get a reaction hit. Frog Bite didn't exist for us today.
