Cachuma Lake
-
Water Temp: 63 to 64
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Started around 8:00 and made it about two hours until we got rained out. Pretty heavy squalls driting over the lake, so we gave it up. Water is a little more stained that the last trip. This weeks rain should muddy up the water pretty good up in Little and Big Cachuma Bay and in the Narrows. Just one bite on a 6inch worm, but my partner was slow on the draw and didn't stick it. Well report back next Thursday or Friday.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Good day shore fishing. Caught 4 keepers and lost a 2.5 - 3.0 pounder. Fish weighed 1.5, 1.7, 3.25 and 6.1 pounds. I caught my fish on four different baits. A 7" crawdad-color paddle worm with a red and orange skirt with an embedded rattle. I also used a silver shad-rap, a tandem willow-blade spinnerbait with a shad-pattern skirt, and the big fish was caught with a shad-pattern roostertail !!! Switched to a shad pattern after my first fish had one stuffed in her pretty little face.
City: CampbellTips: Fish the primary and secondary points, drop-offs and creek channels for pre-spawn fish. Black and crawdad (i.e. brown/red/orange) 4"-7" worms fished slow. Deep-running (7 to 15 feet) crankbaits fished slow to moderate. Also, give a spinner/spinnerbait a try, but don't crank it like some Alabama yahoo in the summertime. Slow to moderate speed is the rule.

Water Temp: 65-68F
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished the South Fork in the AM with a buddy and we hooked-up a dozen bass. Most were spotted a ew small mouth. All were in the 12 to 15 inch range with the biggest at 18 inches and 3.5 pounds. The big one was caught on a Motor Oil with red lake Jig. All others were caught on 4 inch plastic worms. Almost any color seemed to work. I was ishing a slow drag and letting the ish hit the worm a couple o times and when I elt the big tug, set the hook!
City: FolsomTips: I always use a split shot rig with a 2/0 or 3/0 o shank hook. Fish 4 inch plastic worms (start with Oxblood)as slow as you can and let them bounce o the bottom. When you eel the tug stop and wait or the wait or the seccond tug, then set the hook! Good luck, have un and be sure to "Catch-and Release"!!!

Oroville Lake
-
Water Temp: 58.8 to 62.3
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished the South Fork and Main body with my riend Steve. The water temp on the main body was about 3 degrees cooler than the ork. Found a lot o slot ish willing to take a T.D. Minnow early and small plastic later on during the day.The better ish (those over the slot) were ound in the back o coves and were willing to take brush hogs and jigs. You'll have to pay very close attention to your line and rod tip though, watching or the slightest movement or pressure. When you see your line twitch or detest the rod beginning to load up, set the hook.
City: Granite BayTips: Smaller, slow presentation, top water baits around steep rock banks, jigs worked slow in shalow lat areas and brush hogs drug down creek chanles should produce a great doy on Oroville this time o your.

Report: three reports in one! - two weeks ago - ished Sonoma or the irst time - beautiul lake! sunny day, caught about 15 split shotting plastics.one week ago (ok i was preishing) ran all over the lake and ound three good spots that produced multiple ish. caught about 20. cool. 5 ish limit would have been about 12 lbs. way cool.tourneyday - caught numbers, but the ish were way smaller - only managed 6.5 lbs or 5 ish. Yup - lots o bucks, no she-bass. 12 lbs won the tourney.
City: BelmontTips: split shot or c-rig plastics. Small to get limit, then upgrade in size or kickers. Temperature seemed to matter a LOT - look or warmer pockets and coves. They were staging, some early bed ish ish, but...

California Delta
-
Water Temp: 58-62
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Guided a Client today in the Central part of the Delta in structural reading and using a jig. Caught fish both in current and in shallow water. We caught fish from keeper size to 6+lbs (Ill let him explain that one)But I'll tell you it was a Denny Breur Jump with a Skeet Reese body twist!!! he he. With the tides that had accurred this week it was hard to get a bite after 11-12 oclock should change next week.
City: Castro ValleyTips: The Fishin is getting better has daylight is getting longer in which the water is warmin, High tide flip, buzz around tules (Thick green ones)on Northwest sides close the deep access and hang one their getting sassy. Flip jigs in Brown/Junebug or your confident bait. Recommend that you take your time on targets and throw a couple of times at it. Just my Thoughts ....Hookpoint

Water Temp: 63-68
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Smoked em good today. Launched at Franks and ran south towards Mildred Island. Fish are very active and hitting a variety of baits. Partner and I caught over 30 fish including (2)8lb. kickers. Best 5 went 25lbs and best 7 over 30lbs. Picked up a few fish at first light on top water but most of our fish came cranking tules and submerged weedbeds. We also caught some fish pitching and flippin including both hogs. First toad hit a jig pitched in heavy current in 6ft. of water on a tule point and the next pig ate a woim in a shallow bay next to wood on the bank in 2 ft. of water. Both fish were caught on incoming tide. Gotta love the Delta!
City: DanvilleTips: When pitching baits to targets present lure softly and be in tune with your bait on the initial fall as both big fish hit bait before the lure settled. Have your real engaged and be ready to cross their eyes with a firm hook set. Now get off the computer and go get them toads!!

Report: Launched at Lime Saddle, worked up the let side when leaving the marina and rom the irst cast, it was an awesome day. No matter what you through, as long as it was chartruese, you got plenty o action. I used a chartruese/white titanium spinner with willow lea blade. Also threw chartruese Speed Trap with plenty o ish coming right o the bank all the way to the boat. Must have caught 20-30 slots with 8-10 over 15" ranging in 3-4 lb weight. Smaller ish came early on while the at ladies started eeding around noon......SUPER DAY!
City: WheatlandTips: Used 5/8 oz spinner bait, chartruese with gold willow lea and small Colorado together. Partner slammed the larger ones on 5" salt and pepper reeper with chartruese tail.

Report: Started at Big Break at about 6am. Finally found fish around the wrecks. I got a 5.5 on a blk/red jig and my partner got a 3.5 on a 6" purple worm, both off and isolated wreck in 7' of water. Then moved to tules areas adjacent to the wrecks for some topwater. I got a 6.4 on a spitin image and my partner got a couple of 3-3.5's on a dancing darter thingie. Bite slowed down, went to Frank's for absolutely nothin'. Went back to the wrecks and nailed 5-6 more on worms and flukes with my partner whackin' 4.5 on a worm
City: WatsonvilleTips: We had our best luck throwing to the gaps between the wrecks and the submerged weeds.

Report: My ishing partner and I decided to bring our riend who has never ished or black bass and who hasn't ished in over 10 years to Lake Sonoma. The prior week my partner and I ished the same area in Lake Sonoma and caught and release 35 black bass in 5 hours. So we igure the action should be as just as torid today. Was it, no. We did catch our limits. Even our irst time bass isherman riend caught 6 black bass. Each o us caught and release 6 black bass apiece. The biggest was 2 1/2 lbs and the smallest being 11 inch. The action has slow down due to the change in weather, a storm was coming in. The majority o the bass were caught beore 10:30 am.
City: San MateoTips: Every one o the bass were caught on Brown Yamamoto twin tail grub on a 3/8 ounce jig head. We try other plastic bait and got hit a couple o time but the bass that day went or the spider jig.
