Finally located 6 keepers, my partner stuck an 8.3oz HOGG, all cranking. started back for weigh-in ran into Monsoon conditions, Holland was an ocean with 3-5ft swells, went through Franks with bigger and rougher water conditions. made it to the river which was not as bad as expected. Well showed up 6 minutes late. Dumped 18lbs of fish including the HOGG. Can't wait to see how many points it cost us, or how much cash we are out of.

Report: Fished ABA tournament on Feb 20th. Jr. Sanches got our irst ish on a citris shad excaliber medium diver on the main lake. We got another one on a smoke grey/purple lake 4" ring worm. Moved way up river and got two more ish with our biggest a 3.36 lbs. on a bluegill color 4" worm. We had our ish by 1110 hrs and never could get another bite total lbs 8.22 We are ishing the Northern Traverlers Region and had not been on the lake in over two years. Since the weather was getting bad we let ater weigh in so don"t know the winning weight and big ish. Weather: some rain, high winds sometimes and overcast all day.
      City: Marysville

Tips: We saw a couple o bass in shallow water where there was inlowing water but could not get them to bite. Maybe a loating worm would have done the trick. Fish are moving up to pre-stage and crusing the shallows in the warmer incoming water 53.7.

Report: Very tough bite for my first tournament of the new millenium. Hooked a 3 lb. smallie near Steele park Resort on a crankbait, but came off at the boat. Felt plenty of fish while wormin' around 25 feet, but it was the strangest bite I've ever encountered. It was a pressure bite, but the fish would only pick up the tail and just hang on. Teeth marks all over my worms and even some half worms, but no solid takers. Caught a short fish right before weigh-in. Total talley 0 fish for 0 lbs. Tough day for me.
      City: ROSEVILLE

Tips: Lots of guys were hitting the submerged weed line in about 5-8 feet of water with darter head plastics.

      Water Temp: The magic finge

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Got up too late to take the boat up to the delta so drove on down to Calero for some bank fishin'. Hadn't been there in about 15 years so couldn't remember any bottom features. In order to be productive as possible, I set up a camp chair about 100' south of the ramp to be able to enjoy any Ramp Follies. :) Had several bites and actually caught a coupla 2 pounders by dragging a watermelon brush hog across the bottom. This area was fairly flat, about 2-3' deep, with what felt like small rocks. Water was muddy due to two ski boats that were out there. The nibbles fell off about 3 PM and I tried the point north of the ramp. Too weedy and too shallow. Went over and walked the bank from the dam down to the picnic area and got a coupla half-hearted bites, still on the brush hog. Saw Sea Ray or C-Rig (??????) getting into his tube when I first got there. Any luck? The ranger came around, carded me, and asked what I had caught. Said he had heard everyone was doing well with 2-5 basses each, even with the rain. Nice to see a ranger take an interest in the fishing! Can't tell you if this was a good or bad day for Calero but the weather was nice and it was a LOT better'n getting skunked! Sorry, no Ramp Follies to report. Bill
      City: San Jose

Tips: Bring a watercraft! The small rock wall almost directly across the pond from the ramp seemed to be a popular place. Also, get outta bed early enough to get your boat in the water!!! <:-

Water was very high, saw levees overflowing in places I never thought would happen. Water was not as muddy as I expected. Should have cranked, 'cause we got skunked.
