I see the lake is up and this is pushing the ish shallow. I have ordered a map o the lake and would like to get a game plan beore we arrive, any ino you guys would be willing to give us would be greatlyappreciated. Report: fish aba today out of bug break . should have stayed home... windy ..windy..windy ...rained all day . caught one 4lb striper and losta a 2 lb bass at the boat. that was the only two hits we had all day . there were a couple nice limits weighed in . they came from the pge plant area where the water was 71.. the weather was so bad we figured it would be dangerous coming back from there so we played it safe .. i guess fishign wise that was a mistake but if we had to error i'm glad we errored on the side of safety..

Clear Lake

Water Temp: 48
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I made a late aternoon-night trip by mysel midweek and ripped a 4-10 and 3-5 beore dark on Pointer minnows. Fished 4 hrs ater dark and caught 6 rom 3 to nearly 4 lbs. Did not get that big bite! Was using big zipper worms. Fished mostly on hwy 20 side, up to Glenhaven.Guided Sat aternoon during break in storms and caught 5 on Rodstrainer jigs in about 10-20 eet o water on rockpiles. Bass were aggressive! We ished 3 hrs, had a dinner break, then went out at night, but only lasted 2 hrs - blown and rained o the lake! Only 1 bite at night.
City: Yuba CityTips: Could not get a ish to look at a jig midseek. On Sat, they loved them. Go igure!! I think stormy weather put ish down in jig territory since rip bite did not happen ater rain stopped on Sat. With this active weather we are experiencing, don't be araid to try several patterns. And Clear lake is coming up ast!

Shasta Lake

Water Temp: 51
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: it is raining heavily and the lake is on the way up rapidly. ish are still deep, drag something in 40-50t in stumps or in the rocks, ish slowly! lots o debris loating so slow down or risk tearing up your rig, wind and rain predicted or all week. miserable conditions would best describe it. jigging spoons did not work or me, went to jigs in 1/2oz or larger, hard to maintain contact with the bottom with the wind blowing, come on SPRINGTIME!

Berryessa Lake
-
Water Temp: 52-53
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: you may not believe this but on sunday when most of the area was experiencing a large storm the lake was very fishable. we got into a few groups of spotted bass in the narrows and main body of the lake. fish seemed very finicky on the take but all fish were good fish, up to 2.5 pounds. All of the fish cam out of 8-12 feet of water, tried deeper water but no takes.
City: davosTips: salt and pepper worms, or if you have it any of the predator worms with the blue or purple line down the middle

Calero Reservoir
-
Water Temp: 50's
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I fished at Calero on the first of the month and bagged a 2.5 lb quality largemouth on a jig fished in about eight feet of water. From shore It didn't look like boaters were catching any fish at all. Cold fronts continue to halt the larger females into taking my offerings on the points. With a couple of warm days in a row I'll be catching some kicker fish. GLX, your reports are fishy I want to see some pictures.
City: San JoseTips: All I have to say is crawfish anyone!

Water Temp: 58
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: We started o at about 9:30am.The lake had risen to about 11t rom the rim due to the recent storms, and muddy. On this particular day the weather was just the pits.So on with the gortex and o we went.We headed towards the northwest corner on the lake on around what we like to call "oh no you did't island".Nothing.We threw just about everything rom jigs to spinners to crankbaits.Nothing.Finally deciding that maybe since the wind was blowing so hard and the rain was really coming down, that baitish might be blowing up against the shore and points.About 11am I(Matt) hooked into a 212 largemouth on a strike king 38 chart-white spinner.Five casts later I ound mysel saying good morning to a 312 largemouth. Both coming o o a rocky point down the arm at the north end o the lake.Unortunatly that was all or Kevin and I,but theirs always next time.Till then ish on.
City: antelopeTips: Fish rocky points with spinners and ollow up with some plastics i the wind permits.Slow presentation.

Calero Reservoir
-
Water Temp: 52-54
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished friday from 9am until noon. Managed four fish, largest going 2.3lbs, other three were, 1.8, 1.9, and 1.9. Yes, I caught some "elusive" one-pounders. Seems from these reports, there aren't any one-pound fish in Calero anymore. Actually, it's probably my ability. All fish were caught in a small flat area, between 10:30am and 11:15am. All were in about 4-5ft. of water. All on small, shallow, chartreuse crankbait fished as slow as possible once it was down. Fished plastics, blades, no luck with either. Wind was heavy and it rained off and on the whole time.
City: San JoseTips: Don't listen to me. I catch more small fish, than large fish. Hmm, imagine that.
-
Water Temp: 52
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Very wet and kind of windy on the lake today. Still had a great time though! I caught a 4 1/2, a 2 1/2, and a 2 all on a chart/white spinnerbait w/ white colorado blade, and also got a 2 on a black/blue Vyper Jig. I also missed one shaking a 6" Zipper Shakin Worm off a point. Great fun today catching fish on blades in February!!
City: San MateoTips: Spike your lure with a little Kickin' Bass scent, it helps!
