Report: Was out fishing around 6:30 pm with my buddy Tim and we had hard luck with jigs and spinnerbaits on the flat. Saw another pair in a boat nailing 4# and 5#s off a deep cut bank in the current, and they said they first used what we were using and caught nothing, but they switched to plastic worms; red brown patterns, and they could not miss. So we switched over and about 10 minutes later Tim nailed an 11+ pounder. Lots of yelling and hollering, will never forget it! A 5-inch ox blood zipper worm on a 3/0 lazer hook, and new line is what did it. Took a quik picture and let her go!

Report: Got there in afternoon fishing cranks and skipping tubes under structure. Caught some nice ones. Buddy cranking some areas in 4 ft. pulled in a nice 4 lbs. and a huge cat. 5 minutes later, I fished a top water and was slammed on the first cast. My line was pulling hard while the fish took off. Lost the fish. The line didn't break and still had the lure, but the hooks were straightened out. Boy, still thinking about it...

Report: FISHED THE NORTH END WITH MY FATHER. LEFT THE RANGER AT HOME AND USED MY FATHERS TRI-HULL TOGET SOME TIME ON IT FOR HIM.IT WAS TOUGH WITH NO TROLLING MOTOR, BUT I THINK IT PAID OFF FOR US. MADE US CONCETRATE AND SLOWDOWN THE PRESENTATION. I HAD ONLY 8 FISH, BUT ALL GOOD SIZE. STARTED THE DAY WITH 3 FISH JUST OVER3PD ALL ON A CLOWN HUSKY JERK. IN 4 FT OF WATER. PITCHED COVER WITH NO SUCCESS. MOVED NORTH WEST TOSMALL CANAL AREAS JUST PAST RODMAN SLOUGH AND REALLY GOT INTO SOME NICE FISH ON THE OUTSIDE EDGES OFTHE WEED LINES IN 6-8 FT OF WATER I LANDED TWO 4 PDS AND A 6 1/2PD FEMALE ALL 3 ON 4 1/2 INWITHCHES-T MAGIC WORM. MY FATHER ALSO CAUGHT HIS ONLY 3 FISH OF THE DAY ON THE SAME WORM SET UP(1-4PD, 2-3PD). THE FISH STILL SEAM TO BE PRE SPAWN. THE 6 1/2 HAD NOT SPAWNED OUT EITHER.SAW SEVERAL BOATERS TRYING TO BED FISH AND NOT HAVING MUCH LUCK THOUGH. ON THE WAY IN WE STOPPED ATTHE VERY CORNER(NORTH EAST) OF THE LAKE AND SAW 3 YOUNG BOYS(10-12YRS) FISHING FROM A 10FT BOAT WITHA TROLLING MOTOR JUST HOLLERING AND LAUGHING. IN 2-4 FT OF WATER THEY WERE RUNNIN AND GUNNIN ANDHITTING FISH. THEY HAD AT LEAST 4 FISH AS WE TALKED TO THEM. THEY WERE THROWIN INTO THE BUSHES ANDTREES WITH A ZOOM FLUKE AT BED FISH THAT THEY DIDN'T EVEN SEE AND HOOKING UP BIG. I THREW A COUPLEOF TIMES AND GOT MY LAST FISH A 4POUNDER, AND MY FATHER LOST ONE THE SAME SIZE AT THE BOAT. PRACTICECATCH AND RELEASE ON THE BIG FEMALES!! I DID!Tips JUST KEEP IT SLOW AND METHODICAL. THE JERK BAIT PRESENTATION I MADE WAS SLOW. I WAS PAUSING INBETWEEN EACH TWITCH OF THE BAIT 3 SECONDS SOMETIMES LONGER. I CAUGHT ONE OF THE FISH AS I TALKED TOMY FATHER AND THE BAIT WAS STILL! THE FISH MAY MOVE ONTO THE BEDS THIS WEEK SO FISH INSIDE TOOUTSIDE. DON'T RUN A WAY FROM THE SMALL FISH AS THE WILL BE HEARDING UP THE BIG FEMALES TO FORCETHEM ON TO THE BEDS. AGAIN PLEASE PRACTICE CATCH AND RELEASE!!

Report: I went to Discovery Bay Sunday. I went with my dad. I caught 4 bass. They were dinks. I caught them on nightcrawlers. I was fishing when all of a sudden I look at my dad's little spinning pole bent like an upside down U. It was stripping line for about five minutes even though his drag was on eight! I went sprinting for my boat to get a net. When I came back, he had it on the dock. It was eight pounds!!!!!!!! It was 22 inches! It was the biggest bass that my dad and I have ever seen! I hooked it before and that was the first time I saw it. We quickly weighed it then released it to make more bass. We also caught two 14 inch strippers.
      City: Pleasanton

Tips: Tips: Catch and release!!!! Before they spawn, they are very important to make more bass.

Report: Fished the lake in Discovery Bay all weekend and did better than most days out on the Delta. Caught about 30 fish over the weekend including one 7#er a few 4-5#ers and a bunch of 2-3#ers. Went out on my paddle boat and sidearmed Watermelon brush hogs into the tules and under docks. The bite was so subtle that oftentimes your line would start swimming away sideways before you knew you had a fish on. I plan on fishing it every evening this week!
      City: Discovery Bay

Tips: Tips: Flip into the tules and let it sit. The slower the better.
