We caught approximately 15 bass between 16in to 22 1/2in flipping red Iovino worms in the Big Break/West Delta area and won the tournament with 7 fish for 25.02 lbs. We prefished the weekend prior to the to urnament and caught 4 bass over 3 lbs. flipping plastics. We knew we were on big fish, but unsure if we could catch 7. The bass were definately in a fall pattern with rocks and weeds key. We caught most of our fish on the outgoing tide prior to 10:30 a . Reaction baits have been producing smaller fish.

Report: Went out last Thursday, out of Holland, on a whim. Two consecutive days of clouds & rain. Had to go! I get on the water, Blue Bird sky, no wind and 90 degrees. Add in the back side of the full moon, tough day. We started out with three nice fish in the 4- 5 lbs range first stop on 3 consecutive casts to the same pocket with poppers. Thought we were in for a spectacular day. NOT! As soon as the sun hit the water, never caught a keeper the rest of the day.

Report: Fished the final West Coast Bass Delta Region team last Saturday. As usual the wind blew and fishing was tough. You know it's tough when we keep Barrack & Dobyns out of the top 5 places. That was not the case for the brother team of Todd & Cliff Gyotoku.T hese two guys came in with an outstading weight of 25+ lbs for 7 fish. Awsome for this time of year. The 2nd place team of Garcia & Lambrose also weighed a great bag at 23+ lbs. The weights dropped from there. We had 16.58 and got 5th. Top water is stillo ff. Top 2 teams caught most of their fish flippin big plastics; worms, lizards, reapers & craws. Next four teams flippin jigs. Crazy fish seem to be moving into their fall patterns.

I ound a nice 4 pound bass hiding in about 1 oot o water in the back o a cove just ate the sun went down. tips: Dont ish between 10:30 am and 6 pm....Get o the lake and ind a nice shady place to down a ew cold ones. Its just to hot! Fish slowly with dark colored power worms or grubs in the deep cover. The ish are there but they arereal lazy.

Report: As predicted Barrack & Bryant won the WON Tri-State team championship on the Delta last weekend. Bobby & Greg weight a consistant 20+ for both days with a 2 day total just over 41 lbs. Guys from Oregon, Nevada & California flowed to the Delta on Wednesday & Thursday and just slayed em. The reaction bite was incredible. There were numerous reports of fish being caught over 10lbs. By tournament time on Friday the temp dropped 15 degrees and the wind was blowing. Needless to say this confused a lot of fisherman as there were only 3 bags the first day over 20 lbs out of 99 teams. One encouraging thing I noticed at both weigh-ins was the number of big fish. The warming trend moved this fish from their deeper haunts to accessable areas. Although the temp drop and wind drove them from the shallows, look for those fish to begin staging for what they think is the fall turn. Over the next couple of weeks when you catch a good fish, be sure to thouroughly fish the area as you may find a honey hole!

Report: Fished a club tournament on the 8th & 9th on Clear Lake. Winning weight was 24.21 lbs. or 10 ish. Quite a ew ish weighed in over 5 lbs. Buzzbaits and tournament rogs were the lures o choice around weed beds that are holding silversides in the North end. Deeper water and rockpiles were producing well in the South end. Fishing was a little slow but some nice ish were being caught. We did have a change in weather pattern on this weekend though.

Used mainly sot plastic jigs with weighted hooks. Four hookups, two small mouths landed about 1.5 pounds. Couldn't ind enough cover or largemouth on that part o the lake.

Tips: Go toward rattlesnake or better cover. Small mouth were hitting sot plastic jig pretty consistently

Report: Fished 3rd straigh 100% team tournament on Sunday. The team of Hewatt & Rehrmann made it a Tri-fecta. These guys have just been consistent as they come. Best bite still continues to be the flip bite. Both jigs & reapers catching fish. Top water bite still off. Most of the Delta is extremely muddy due to low tides and recreational boat traffic. Wind has died down the last 3 days as the temp has climbed over 100 degrees for 3 days now. Should provide for a good topwater bite on the weekend. WON is having th ir Tri-States team championship this weekend out at the Hook, Line & Sinker at Big Break. Barrack probably gonna win another boat.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished both 100% Bass tournaments this weekend. Made for a very long weekend, as to circumvent the 6 hour rule they had split weigh-ins. This adds yet another stratigical aspect to the day's fishing. Both days the wind was blowing from start to finish and made for very tough conditions. The top water bite was completely off. Those that managed to catch fish did so flippin jigs. This seemed to be the best tactic both days. We had a 7.48lb on Saturday & a 4.86 on Sunday for big fish of each tournament. We a so took 2nd on Sunday. All our fish were caught flippin & pitchin jigs as well. What we found was that if you could find a rock bank, with shade, clumps of grass (not the thick weed lines) and current, there would be active fish. These fish were either at the base of the outside weeds or up between the bank and the inside weeds. This worked great for us as a team. I would worked the shallow side and Rick worked the outside. We never caught a fish in the middle of the grass itself.

I ished Berkeley power bait worms 4in and 7in purple at 24 t to 27 t. I had three limits o 18in and 4 limits o 16in. My biggest was a 20.25in bass that hit a 7in worm at 10am.
