Report: Had a great week at the lake, but the ishing was very poor. Went out every morning around 6:30- 9:00.I threw literally everything with very little success.Probably threw twenty dierent plastic baits on darterheads and split-shot rigs and never hooked up.Tried Senkos,Ricos, crankbaits, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits with no success. The only ish I caught were on a 1/8 oz jig w/ yamamoto 4'' double-tail grub. One three pound Smallie and a two and a hal pound same.I believe the ish are gorging on the pond smelt, they are everywhere you look and must be easy- pickens because the ish were deinetely not hungry.
      City: Granite Bay Ca.

Tips: Try the evening trout ishing on the West bank. The hex are still hatching and we caught 3 lb trout on split shot crickets without spending much time trying. All decent size rainbows.

Report: Our annual trip to this beautiul lake was nothing like it was last year and you just can't do anything except enjoy the beautiul area when you ain't doing much catching. We ished in rain, sleet, snow and wind all week until Thursday when it started to warm up and those big, at emales were inally moving back to the beds. Spinner baits were the ticket until Thursday and then Senkos were back to their normal action. Averaged 3 ish a day but they were all big beauties and now with the weather changing, I'm sure you'll see some huge weights brouht in this weekend at the tournament.
      City: Wheatland

Tips: Throwing white blades in and around whatever stumps we could see. When the weather warmed and the emales started to bed, white Senkos (4" with a small weight) made all the dierence. You must ind the stumps and they were there. I must have seen 50 bass on Thursday just roaming around looking or a place to call home. Only wish I had gone this week instead o last week. Work slowly and you'll have a successul trip.

      Water Temp: 62

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Monday and Tuesday we spent the day in the northeast corner in all the stumps that were visible or up to 3' submerged throwing a 4" white Senko with a 1/0 EWG and they just couldn't get enough o them until we ran out. Would not touch a 5' o any color so wound up cutting o 1" o white and salt/pepper until my overnight rom Phil's Prop showed up with more 4" and white tube baits. Caught nothing less than 15-20 a day in the 3-6 pound range (yes we weighed many). As the week progressed so did the pollen rom all the pine trees and tons o it were sitting on the surace making spotting the stumps more diicult until yesterday when all the pollen starting settling into the water making it totally murky but still ish as long as the wind was not blowing. Saturday we went all the way south where it was gin clear and hundreds o beds holding ish while we worked white tubes with great success. I you're planning on going up there, don't wait and you should still have an unorgettable ishing trip as my hook setting arm is so sore I have to treat it to reduce the swelling. Wind only came up on Saturday and boy did it blow so we worked the banks with blades with a air degree o success. We planned this vacation around the ull moon and already have next year's vacation time marked on the calendar.
      City: Wheatland

Tips: Senko in white, 4" and white tube baits sight ishing stumps and beds. Blades on the windblown banks in white, double willow lea and smoke grub trailer. Warmest water was 62 so they are still on the beds. Have a ball!

Report: Had an awesome trip this week to Almanor. Not much or Bass ishing caught a couple real small Smallmouth on a Crankbait and loating night crawler. Trout ishing is Fantastic at hamilton Branch. Went there three times and my Dad, my 11 year old cousin and I all limited out on trout all three times. Theres a trick to the branch though. You have to go all the way up to where the stream actually lows in to the the arm o the lake. Dont waste your time on all the ish youll see close to shore. You can see thousands o ish but many wont bite. Cast out where the water lows down rom the stream like part into the lake with a bobber and a cricket or a Wooly Bugger with a clear bobber. Once you have casted out your bobber let it drit in the current and be ready. Set the hook on the irst bounce o your bobber because that is usually the only chance youll get. All the ish i kept averaged a pound and a hal to 2 1/2 pounds. On the last day i casted out and hooked into a lunker, got the ish all the way in and it weighed at 5 lbs.
      City: Rancho Cordova

Tips: i u have the oppurtunity to go to the lake dont waste your time anywhere else go to Hamilton Branch.

      Report: Kevo,

Try a Texas rigged worm with a large tail (I usually go with a Dead Ringer in dark colors), 15 ft of water on main lake points. I've done pretty well with this when fishing this lake at night.

Report: Dont worry bout folks like that Larry. Just goes to show all of us how ignorrant some people are. But I think this falls more into a deeper catagory though, sounds like the individual may not have been loved or held enough as a baby. Cause he is still acting like one.

Tips: Yea here is a tip for you, keep your fingers off the key board if you don't have anything productive to say about FISHING!

Report: Thanks Shawn. I thought it was 10 fish but the lady at the desk said she was sure it was 5. I've had slow nights like ny posting below in the past and have done well but had to stick it out until like 3:30 am and later before any quality fish showed up which I couldn't do this time.
      City: Folsom

Tips: With the weather changes, fishing could turn on any week now. Even though fishing can be slow, the fish have to eat sometime but you may have to stay 12 hours to be there at the right time and then it may not last long.

Report: Fished a club tournament on sat. night 7pm to 3am July 8th with the contra Costa bass. I took my 11 year old daughter with me she was very excited. At about 11:30 I found a main lake point that was kicking out some decent fish. I drop shotted a 5, two 2's and my daughter caught a 2 there. At about 12:30 another boat pulls up on the point I am fishing and starts fishing right next to me. I told him I was fishing this point but he just yelled at me using four letter words and keeped fishing my point 10 feet away from me. This lasted about 2 hours all with my 11 year old daughter in the boat. There were to other clubs fishing that night I think he might have been in the Modesto club. He was in a white Ranger sport 82 with a 150 mariner on the back.
      City: antioch

Tips: Watch out for this guy. He has to be the big jerk I have ever come across on the water.

      Water Temp: 78-81 degrees

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Hit the lake late @11:30am ran around the looking for bait fish and checking out water temp. Stopped up in jackson creek where I found schooling Bass just attacking the bait fish like there was no tomorrow. I mean these fish shown no mercy for the baitfish. The Bass were flying out of the water. Saw some pretty decent fish all fish were in 30 to 40 feet of water and chasing bait up to the top. What a site to see. I landed @ 10 fish and lost a nice bass around 5+. Two other 3lber's shook off my lure. Onlt thing that worked for me were 4" green tubes. The Bass ate them up. I have never seen so much bait fish in Amador before today's trip. Off the water at 6:45 pm. What a day, best 5 probably around 10lbs. There are a lot of small fish but bigger fish are near by.
      City: El Dorado Hills

Tips: bounce your tube off the bottom before reeling in and hang on because the Bass will follow and blow up on the bait when you least expect it too.
