Report: Fished this lake for the first time. Surprised at how many others had the same idea. By noon any submerged tree providing a lick of shade had 2 or 3 boats around it. Or so it seemed.

Only managed one small LM each but saw a lot of fish gouped up on the graph anywhere from 10' to 40'

Tips: practice catch and release and people may give better info for the sometimes tuff bite this time of year with the changing conditions.

Report: sorry DG it took so long. as far as Collins lake bass fishing, it gets better every year as long as we all keep up catch and release. they have been dropping in Florida Strained, and many great brush piles have been installed. anglers have also been pulling in some qualtiy spotties in 4-6lb range. i hope they are releasing those girls! on most days, except crowded weekend rec boaters, it worth the trip there to fish, be in bass, big rainbows or brown trout or lunker cats.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: First o, thanks Pat, HippeMark, Hawgmanjones, Kentuck and cooch or tips on this lake. The CVBC held it's irst 'mystery lake' draw lake tournament there. It was actually a lot o un or me. It's cool to try to igure out a lake you've never ished beore during a tourney. The weights were light - the winning weight was by non other than Big Daddy, with 7.3 lbs., i think or 5 ish. I had 6.3 or second. I think that the majority o the ish were just begining to move into prespawn mode. I don't think they were up in beds as yet. I ound most ish on well sloped banks in Anglers Cove with recently looded grass (that was important) in about 5 - 12 eet o water. Warmer water was the key. so look in the south acing coves. Not many ish reported in the willows.. the water had risen 10' in the last three weeks, and spread the bass all over the trees. It was like a bayou rom scenes in 'deliverance.' My partner and i caught most o our 15 ish on brushhogs, c-rigged. we caught rip ish, but they were small. Even caught my irst sammy ish o the year (dink). caught a couple on senkos too. big ish was a 3.9 on a spinnerbait, early in the day. Look or the bite to bust wide open in about a week or less, depending on water temp. This is a very pretty lake. A combo o don pedro, tulloch, sonoma, and bayou..
      City: belmont

Tips: ish slopes & lats with c rigs to keep your bait above the grass. Look or warmer water!!!!! Pre spawn now..
