Report: Fishing with minnows is fine. Have you ever been to Florida? They shiner fish there all the time. It's a riot and I had a blast when I did it. Fishing with live baby crawdads can be fun too. However, I do mostly fish artificial. But every once in awhile, ill try live bait. Live Bait is a blast.

Tips: Wacky rig senko is producing good numbers for me.

      Report: Truth-
I can speak from personal experience, that Mike is on fish out there. Being from Minnesota, the only spooning I do is through the ice for Walleys. Mike took me out for a few hours when I was out there in December and we caught a dozen solid fish. The biggest was pushing 4lbs. I'll defer to him to share more - bottom line, I was amazed and impressed.

I did catch the big fish of the day, but let's not go there ;-)!

Report: Ya I was just as defensive as you to my 30+ fish days in late feb early march. Send me an email and we can discuss this more. No sense turning this into a message board.

Report: Yo Mike. Thanks for the kind words. Funny that nobody posts fish days like this and funny that you would need to feel so defensive about it since you clearly feel confident in your statement. Put up or shut up... Lets see the pictures. Of course the Sept crank bite is great... where did that come from? We aren't talking about sept but since we are on that, try a blade too at this time of year, gets through the grass that starts topping out around July/August. A jig would be the best bet up until the end of Feb for Calero since the clarity is a tough call with the fact that they release flows from Coyote and Anderson. See you on the water.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I got to the lake around 7:45 and started towards Bailey cove. Most fish marked, were on the three submerged points...suspended in about 8-9 feet of water (surounded by Bait fisherman). I took a few on a dropshot and moved farther south to the last major point. The wind had picked up and I found fish stacked up and suspended, I busted out the Ripbait and had a Blast. I never got anything over two pounds, but the bite stayed solid for 45 minutes or so. Eventually, I headed farther south and the bite slowed a bit...maybe a fish every dozen casts or so on the rip. I left the lake around 1pm...landed a little over 20 fish. Not a bad day with the Low front moving in.
      City: San Jose

Tips: I didn't see anybody else rippin, but a couple shore fisherman had a steady bite working the edge of the points...dragging lizards.

Report: Started ishing at 10:00. Started ishing points and creek chanels inside o major coves. Threw a rip bait or the longest time without a bite. The weather was pretty bad, no rain but it was really windy. Fished a main lake point that was all rock. Graphed some ish suspending in 15 o water. Threw a grup at the school but no luck. Finally I hooked up with one on a ripbait. Caught 11 total, biggest was 2lbs. All ish were caught on rocky points and shoreline as well as the hump. I graphed a big school in 40t but couldn't get them to bite. I talk to some shore isherman at the dock and one guy had 8 ish, his biggest was 5lbs., all on plastics.
