Water Temp: 58 - 62
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: New Hope was already packed full by 7:30 (late start) so launched B&W 8am...lots of space. Started around the bend at tule island and dock...water was 58deg...nothing on topwater, cranks, senkos, staysee. moved down to next tule strips...still nothing on our offerings. went up to island at sycamore where the water was 61...and started picking up an occasional dink and a couple barely keepers. went into sycamore, water was 63, and saw some guys crankin' and looked like they were picking some up so gave 'em lots of room and tried the opposite side but only picked up a couple more barely keepers. salmon were rolling all over the place and guys that were fishing for 'em weren't getting any. moved back up to first spot with the incoming tide and picked up some 18" stripers and a couple more dinks.....that was it.
City: folsomTips: None.... our offerings weren't working and like bassbuster says, probably should have changed up when we realized it wasn't just tough, it was just not working! We changed colors more than we changed offerings. Sure hope someone posts what worked!

Report: (Going for Catfish)
Middle of Summer(July/August) I was pulling at least a 1 lb. catfish every night from 8:30-9:30, usually biting right at sun goes behind the hills and staying strong until 11. September only yielded many young (9-10" max). It's been slow lately but still getting some bites.
Sardines/Anchovies/Stinky Dip Baits have success
Personal best so far was a 16" 2.5lber out of Chesbro
City: San JoseTips: Anchovies/Sardines work best. Bite is usually best 15 min before sundown and for a few hours after.
Seems like the season is tapering off but there's still reports of bites.

Had some work done on my boat recently and went out on Friday evening for a test run. Of course I took my fishing poles along. I stayed pretty close to the launch ramp and caught a nice three pound trout I thought I would have some time on the water but before six it was starting to get dark so I headed in. Albert and I planned to go out Saturday. He wanted to leave at seven in the morning and I told him we are leaving at eleven. We were out on the water by 11:30. I decided to troll on the east side to where I believed the bite would be good. As we pasted the three points I usually fish we did fairly well. Trolling at a low speed with my electric motor and casting towards the shoreline using a "rattle trap" and Albert using a "zara spook" we did pretty well. The wind picked up and I was unable to control the boat so I decided to head towards the west side of the lake where there is more protection against the wind. Between the Bureau and the pipes I noticed that the birds were hanging out in about 45 feet of water so I changed course again and headed out deeper. I threw into a bait ball and was hit hard by what I felt was a large trout and it broke my line immediately. Albert threw his lure into the same bait ball and got hit hard by what he hoped was going to be a huge bass. It took him over twenty minutes to bring the fish close enough to the boat for me to net it. To his disappointment it turned out to be a very large squaw fish weighing in at approximately 7 pounds but he said the fight was worth it. We headed towards home with limits of bass and trout just as the sun was starting to set (see photos). 'til next week..................................................................................good fishing!!!!

Report: I took a client with his young daughter out yesterday, teaching techniques and good fishing areas in the narrows. The weather was, again, almost like summer with mostly flat, calm water. After I got them going, I threw a green pumpkin Berkley Havoc bait and was very surprised to soon land a spotted bass at almost 3 1/2 lbs. Wow! I soon realized their equipment was not really bass worthy - so I discussed and had them use some "bass" rods. The bite was somewhat slow with several fish lost. We caught all spots - some between 2 and 2 1/2 lbs. Several bass and a few trout (or salmon) were chasing bait but were hard to catch. We hooked 2 or 3 but lost them. Lots of bait balls were pretty tight with no bass around them. As is often the case, I assume the bite did pick up after 4:30 to 5 pm, but we were gone by then.
City: Yuba CityTips: The biggest tip, which should be a surprise to no one, is to hit the water after the predicted cold front with rain on Monday-Tuesday. The "fall feed" really hasen't started yet. We want the water to reach (dip) into the mid-sixties. The quality of the bass should improve too.

Report: It was a tough bite for us. One short fish in the boat on drop shot. Other guys also found it tough, with 2 teams with no fish to weigh in. Few limits. Some in club found good fish with winning weight over 15 lb with a 6.7 kicker. Graphed fish, but could not get them to go. graphed bait, got no fish around them to go.
City: SacTips: cover water. They're biting somewhere.... somewhere else for us..... slow techniques seemed to be the flavor of the day....

Report: Fished the pit arm oct 20 midday. Limited out real quick drop shotting off the points of coves. Very little action on the top. Seems like most of the fish were 15-20ft deep.
Fished 6" aarons magic and morning dawn. Seems like aarons caught more fish but morning dawn was catching bigger ones. Most all fish were under 2lbs. easily couldve caught over 50 fish if i stayed on the lake all day.
City: reddingTips: Start upwind from a point, let the wind assist you and troll around the point to the windless side. Work it real slow popping the drop shot down the bank from the point. Make sure to let the qeight hit the bottom and give it a couple seconds before shaking it down again. Fish will be holding just on the other side of the point waiting to ambush.

Water Temp: 70-73
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I took 2 gentlemen out for a "teach the lake" trip on Wednesday. We started about 7:30 am. Topwater didn't happen right away but did happen around 8 am. We caught several up to near 3 lbs with one of the fellas missing a nice one - 4+ lbs. Bass seemed to come up for the baits out of deep water since most of our hits were off the bank. After that we worked plastics of different shapes and sizes and landed a few more - but with flat water and almost hot weather - the bite was slow. I showed them lots of the Amador structure secrets so as to help them with their future trips.
City: Yuba CityTips: After a nice, homemade sandwich at the lodge, I went back out for about 2 hrs and caught 2 more on topwater, but the fishing was dead. Shad were about 40-45 feet deep and did not appear after the sun set. NO surface activity at all. Obviously, the early morning is the best time to bass fish until the water cools.

Great trip with perfect weather

Report: 3 lm and 1 sm each 2# today. Lm on topwater, deep crank 12', Senko in 8'weed flat; sm trolling Mag Wart in 25'water. All south end. Fished 10/18, too, with 2 bites on a spinnerbait and worm. A 10+ lm followed a big minnow bait early and a 3# sm? followed up my 10" worm after I missed on the hookset. Had around 10 follows on various baits but they only wanted to see my boat I guess. Also saw around 10 in 5' of water in a small open area in the south narrows in bright sun and no wind they would not look at my Senko or worm.
Tips: Most bites I got were where I graphed or saw fish chasing bait.

Report: Mike Sperbeck and I decided to spend the weekend chasing smallies - hoping some bigger ones would be feeding. Mike did find one quality smallie that topped them all at 4 lbs 6 oz! Great fish!! Our best 5 for the weekend were about 14 1/2 lbs - not great, but OK. We caught about 60 for the 2 days including all the small ones. Several spots were quite good and a few provided no action. Most bass were in the 7 to 20 feet depth around stumps and near sharp drop-offs. Everything we caught hit plastics - worms, grubs, small brush hogs, and Berkley Power baits. No takers on topwater or crankbaits. We fished nearly the whole lake with the exception of the far north end.
City: Yuba CityTips: The conditions were absolutely gorgeous which caused a lot of flat, clear water - making the bite a bit tough. Lots of boats out including a few bass boats. Six pound test was a must. I even used 4# since the lake was so flat and the sun so bright. The morning dawn w/chartreuse tail Robo worm worked about as well as it did this spring. They love ii!!

Report: Hello All, I just got back from 3 days fishing Shasta. We fished the Pit arm. I saw lots of shad bait balls back in the coves but not many fish feeding on them. Saturday eve we fished the rock walls just outside of Jones Valley and the bass were feeding like crazy. I threw a white 3" s&p tube bait and killed for an hour and a half. We caught bass as fast as you could cast a land em. Most were typical 1 and a half pounders but some went to 3 lbs. SO MUCH FUN!!!! Get out there and search for those bait balls. When I did't see any we caught them on baby bass sincos, wacky and tight to the banks. Good luck

Report: Luanched the Custom Valco "BASSBUSTER1" out of Ladd's today about 9:30 a.m. and was off the water by 3:00 p.m. Junk fishing today mostly with chrome/blue Rat-L-Traps from Calaveris River to Garlic Brother's in 14 Mile Slough. Several small stripers and LM Bass up to 2 ponds. While fighting the smaller bass there were 4 to 5 pounders following up to the boat. I had a white senko ready as a back up, but no takers for a possible double hook up. I tried my Delta Schooling Rig (aka alabama) alot today, but nothing. With the sunny high blue skies and warmer weather I should have possibly focused on the heavier cover worming and punching for the better quality fish.
City: StocktonTips: Adapt to changing conditions, I wanted to fish just a cuople of techniques today, but should have switched when noticed the bite was tough or just be content with the numerous small fish. LOL

The past few weeks have been very productive. The bass that we have been catching are good size and with the water cooling down the trout are back. I was with my family on my son's pontoon boat this weekend and we landed limits of bass and trout. We were fishing along the east side and were just about to cross the lake towards big island to have our lunch when we saw a boil and I threw a "rattle trap" lure and got smacked by a four pound bass. As my son went to net the bass he yelled out that there were at least four other bass of the same size swimming with my fish. Of course we decided to stay at this location to have our lunch. The water was very clear and we beached the boat on the shoreline. There was a grass line in the water about ten feet wide and the grassy area was full of bass rangeing from three inches up to five or six inches there were hundreds of them. Each time we cast out as we came closer to the shoreline you could see all the little guys going for the lure. We didn't get any more keeper size bass but it was very enjoyable just watching them. Around four o'clock we decided to head over to the west side and make our way back to Lupine Shores. At first we had no hits at all but that changed pretty quick and by the time we reached the launch ramps we had limited out on bass and trout (see photo). Largest bass was caught by Sarah and weighed in at six pounds she also landed a nice size trout. My son's friends Bill and Dorian caught some nice bass and had a great time. I recieved an email from Sharon that she and her boyfriend caught a 21 pound catfish at Oak Shores on four pound test line now that must have been a good fight. Great job!!! 'til next time ..............................good fishing!!!!!

Report: Got on the water around 7am and fished the Moccasin area. The lake is really low so goodtime to mark some waypoints. The topwater and spinnerbait worked for us around stick ups. Lots of bait action in the 20 to 30 ft. range. Threw some swimbaits and got some bumps but no takers. No luck on dropshot but did get some senko fish. We left early to try and catch the 49er game...Sorry I did, should have stayed and fish more.
City: FremontTips: Fall bite is coming on, time to get out...Oh! and bring a radio and fish longer.Table
