      Report: We caught about 200 ish in 3 days on the water. i ished the olsom club tourny up there. we got dqd the irst day. we weighed in 6 ish instead o 5 oh well. we caught our ish shallow in the morning and deep in the aternoon. bigger ish came in the aternoon. we had good limits both days.shakin a worm and throwin a jig. tons o ish under size. but good numbers over too. you just have to ind them. go into phils he'll set ya up. proworms did the best or us in smoke colors. im sure it didnt matter what color you threw.topwater in the morning was o and on. we didnt get ne good topwater ish. we heard o some good topwater ish being caught be all we got was dinks.

      Report: Fished Thursday through Saturday and averaged about 12 ish per hour. Most ish were rom 1 to 2 lbs. Best ish was a 3.3 spot and a 5.5 largemouth. Fished both the Sacramento and McCloud arm with the best ish coming on the Sacramento on Saturday.As with other reports, they are everywhere. Great un.

      Tips: Most o the ish, including the big ones, came on red or Oxblood worms. Also caught a lot on watermellon/gold lake sinko's.

      Report: My cousin, the so-called "bassman o Oregon" came down or the holidays to put a whoopin on our shasta bass. Launched out o Hirz Bay both sun/mon and avoided the crowds. Naturally we had a rivalry going, 25 cents per ish. We caught 64 Sunday, and he bested me by one. Monday was my day. We got 98 ish rom 7am to 1pm. I won by ten. The title is still in Caliornia. Almost all o our ish came on jigs and 4" lizards, between 10'-20'. The bite is wide open olks. Come on up, take some ish home to eat.(to many little guys in this lake) Still not one o our ish was over 3 lbs sigh! My thumb is still raw, but what a ball. Where you ishin this week jerry? Almaden again? Har!

      Report: Took a mini-vacation in the great area o Shasta, and was amazed to see how ull the lake is... I've never seen it that high in all the years I've visited your area.. Fished the Sacremento in the Salt Creek area, and picked up 2 nice sized smallies on Senkos, and a 3lb. spot, also on a watermelon Senko in about 3 hours time.. Went out again on the 22nd and almost immeadately had a ski-boater blow by in ront o us creating a monumental wake, and ater we landed (the second time) my trolling motor mount had snapped in two. Spent most o the day on the 23rd trying to make a new mount, and in almost 100 degree weather that was un.. Decided to put my little jon boat (that I wanted to try out anyway) in, so we ound a spot that with the high water no larger boats could reach because they couldn't get under the bridges, and rom 6:30 till dark my partner and I boated 19, a combination o lagremouth and smallies, all on watermelon Senkos, and lost more I think than we caught... What a blast!! You guys have a beautiul lake down there, I only wish that I lived closer.......

      Tips: We tried many lures, but everything that we caught was on Senkos.. Don't know what makes these such an awesome bait, all I know is that they work!!

      Report: The Redwood Empire Bass Club traveled to Shasta or a weekend tournament. Largest bag or 2 days was just over 20 lbs. (2-5 ish limits). For mysel and my partner we caught several ish on Saturday but only managed a 7 lb limit. Most ish were 1-1.5 lbs. all caught on 4" worms on 1/8 oz darter heads and drop shotting 3" robo worms. On Sunday the wind was really intense so we headed to the back o Hirtz Bay and landed a 3 and a 2.5 o beds throwing pumpkin/black senkos. We later moved up the McLoud to the next creek and landed a couple more 2 pounders throwing senkos (clear/Black and white), giving us a nice 11 lb limit and moving us up to 2nd place with 18.84 lbs.

      Tips: Check the back o creek arms or bed ish. I you not getting bit with senkos, try a dierent color. Pumpkin, salt & Pepper, or white worked the best or us. Also try watermelon. Look or rocky areas and throw 4" worms i your looking or quantity. Work the bottom slowly.

      Report: Fished the McCloud sat. aternoon. Jigs, morning dawn worms and senkos did the trick or 25 ish. Nothing over 3 lbs. yet this year. Guess I'm gonna have to get on the Delta or an adult ish to tighten my string. Fish are moving up again. Water temp 60'. saw several cruisers, all small.

      Report: Fished the McCloud arm on Thurs, 3-10, cold, windy and wet. Nine spots and one smallie, all Shasta Clones. Fished the Pitt on Friday and hal day Sat. Much better weather conditions with warming water to barely 60 degrees. Fished mostly steep walls or 25 clones on Friday and 25 more or the hal day on Sat. Used a variety o small plastics and caught ish on just about everything and color did not matter. Best action was on brown, 4" Senkos.BASNFAN

      Tips: Most ish were caught between 15 to 25 t, but with this warming trend (inally!!!)they shoul be even shallower.

      Report: Annual club houseboat weekend. Rained every day but not real cold. 20 -30 ish days,most in the 10 to 15 inch class. Big ish was a 5.52 large mouth caught on a 4inch oxblood/red worm.Best ives averaged 10.25 lbs. 34.51 or 15 won. No reaction bite. Dartheads and dropshots both got good ish in 15 to 20 eet o water. Green weenies, MGM 99 and reddish colored worms provided most o the action.

      Tips: Lake is FULL and with some warm weather and the ull moon these ish will go. Chunk rock inside points worked best this weekend.

      Report: this one covers the last week or so ishing with my uncle rom Indiana on hi annual spring trip. the lake is 2.3 t rom the top, the hills around the lake are getting regular dustings o snow rom the requent cold storms passing through, water temps have been held down because o the colder weather, the bite is hot one day and slow the next as the pressure drops keep passing through, the 17th provided the largest ish with 3 over 3lbs and a big one at 5.86lbs with numerous dinks or nearly 50 ish, things were slow on riday with only about 12 in the boat and all small, saturday and sunday we had about 22 per day with a ew over 2, got rained out on Monday and tuesday had over 35 with 3 over 2 and one over 3lbs.the most productive bait size wise was a 1/2 oz ootball head with live rubber collar in brown and a MGM shasta crawler in Jim's Smoke threaded on as a trailer, that one caught me the big ish and 2 over 3lbs. It also accounted or a big number o small ish. We caught ish rom the bank out to 30 t with most being in the 10-15t range, most came out o the upper McCloud around Mathles creek and Moore creek. The worm ishing was just as good when the wind didn't blow, I used 1/4 oz darter heads and the 6"inch eel made by MGM in color numbers 109 and an aarons magic copy, the Rainbow worm companys #99 produced a good number and 2 o my ish over 3lbs, ished them on the bottom nearly straight up and down and was shaking them. Big Daddy and I went this past saturday and into the upper Mccloud again where his new pinpoint crapped out on him, 5 trips and it quit! He is more than a little upset, we managed 30 ish to 2.4lbs all on jigs and a ew on his rainbow #99 lizard. Hopeully the weather will stabilize and warm up, very little spawning activity seen, they move up one day and then back o when things cool o.

      Report: Fished the upper McCloud last thurs. got on an awsome jig bite, between 10:30 am and 2 pm. got 22 in the boat up to 1.15 lbs.Took my cousin out on sat. to the same area and couldn't get a jig ish. Buuuuuuuut, got 32 between the both o us, shakin woims. Big ish was 2.4 lbs. Saw my irst bed ish o the year, near in-coming water.

      Tips: Fish seem conused to me. They're still araid to go shallow, but the bite is awsome in 15-20'. Color doesn't matter this time o the year.

      Report: We ished Friday and Saturday in the McCloud and Shasta arms. The bite was a bit slow or this time o year. The conditions were still stabilizing rom the bad weather on Tues and Wed. We managed a dozen or so spotties each day with a ew redeyes thrown in the mix. Only action was on minnows and crawdads.

      Tips: hit the rocky points until you ind concentrations o ish and then anchor up.

      Report: This is the irst time i have ished shasta and we did very well. i ished the sacramento arm our whole trip. most ish were caught between 15-50t. drop shot'n small baits and darterhead jigs with grubs, any natural color worked great. we caught a mix spots, smallies, and one largemouth 1-2pound average. i had a chance to use my aqua-vu and most o the ish were holding in 24t o water on secondary points and on rocky walls.

      Tips: ishing is really picking up and the ish should be moving there way up longer point and coves shortly. ish slow and use scents they seem to hold on longer when the water is cold

      Report: Fished all week, mostly in the Pit. Using jigs most o the time, we ound ish to be airly deep, 20-30 eet, although I did catch a ew on crankbaits and one on a spinnerbait. As usual, steep drop os gave us best luck, and red clay banks. Fish were eeding on crawdads, and one had a ish tail visable in it's throat when I landed it. We caught a couple o nice ones over 2 lbs, one almost 3. Water in the lake was coming up ast all week. Sure was nice to be out in the spring weather.

      Report: Fished both Friday and Saturday. Friday ished the Sacramento arm with 13 spots rom 1 to 2 lbs, two 1 1/2 lb smallies, and a trout, all on plastic worms.Saturday ished the McCloud arm. First ish on a white spinnerbait, 19 more on plastic worms.The weather was great and it was worth the trip.

      Tips: Found ish in small pockets near main lake points. Ring worms in electric blue and plum worked best. Most ish in 10 to 20 t on water although some very shallow. Most were very sot pressure bite.

      Report: Still slow or me,,,,,,,,,,,,,ished the Pit with the wie today,got late start, 10am-2pm, got two on jigs, our on dart headed #99's. Nothing over 2 lbs., No reaction bite. Boy, hoping or warmer days..........

      Report: Shasta Cascade Bass Anglers held their monthly tournament last Sunday out o Packer Bay on a very rainy day . There were 18 boats and a total o 25 ishermen. Every one o them weighed in a limit. Winning weight was 13.14 lbs. by our club president, Jim Burger. Big ish was a 3.5 lb. spot caught by our oldest member, Marvin.

      Tips: An extremly s-l-o-w presentation with a spinner bait was the ticket. I you think you are ishing it too slow, then cut that in hal!!!       Report: ME AND MY BUDDY JIM FOUNDS SPOTS FEEDING IN 17 FEET OF WATER OR LESS. JIGS AND WORMS EFFECTIVE ON ROCKY FLATS ADJACIENT TO POINTS. MOST IN THE 14" RANGE W/OCCASIONAL 2 AND 3 POUNDERS. AWFULLY NICE TO BE THE ONLY ONES ON THE LAKE. BUT SOMEBODY HAS TO DO IT.

      Tips: TRIED RIPPIN' WITHOUT SUCCESS, BUT WORK THE JIGS SLOW AND SHAKE THE WORMS W/A BEAD. MAKES FOR A GREAT DAY ON THE WATER.........

      Report: in at packersbay 6.45 over cast no wind .warm ....ran over to lick gulch .got some on jigs ..but most came on worms ....ran up to the mouth o jones vally or a couple more ..all the ish were in about 20 to 45 eet over water ...on red points ..by this time ,wies got me beat .....day two .in at 6.30. no clouds.a littel north wind.a lot colder...started in packers bay ...the west side..got three rite o the bat on jigs.( the wie nota )some amily o ares was ishing the east side .they hammerd them ..till the sun hit the water ...we all ran over to bone tabeil creek ..t still had shade.started in the creek channel in 45-50 eet ..the boys in the other boat got three be or we got in the water ........got a couple more then it was time to put them on hte trail an go home...it was a great week end.....
