TONS OF 2 1/2 POUNDERS... MOSTLY ON BLADES, DEEP CRANKS AND JIGS SOME ON DROPSHOT BUT NO SIZE TO THOSE... Report: Dang Bryce, or numbers you kicked jerry's and my butt yesterday. WE only had nine ish between us,( I was lucky enough to get seven), my biggest was 1.87. They were all atties, ull o bait. We launced out o Centimudi, and ish his water, all within 2 miles o the dam. Jigs were not the predominant bait,(although we each got a nice smallie on such). The reaction bite was awull.(one ish the irst hour, 1.6 )Drop shotting was the ticket, in 20'-30' o points. The bait was scattered ater thursday's winds.
City: Livermore/Redding soon!Tips: Our ish seemed slugish and unwilling to eat much. But ater catching these atties, it's apparent they have had plenty to eat.

Report: got in at Keith's landing at 0615, air temp 24 degrees, water down 4 eet, sounds a bit unny, right? I was up in Oregon visiting my riend Keith Ogawa and going out or some steelhead onthe Rogue which just happens to low past his house. We went with one o his riends, Todd Puett who operates his own guide service (541)772-3502. Got 21 ish on Friday and 18 on Saturday pulling plugs and side driting a unique bait that Todd ties up. Most came on Todd's special and averaged 4-6 lbs with most being hatchery ish with a ew wild ish thrown in. The early mornings were very nippy but warmed to 60+ by noon. We ished a section rom the rattlesnake rapids down to Touvelle and caught ish in just about every place we stopped, the wild ish were much more acrobatic than the hatchery ish. Todd really knows the river, and he is very patient, even with a pain in the butt (Keith) in the boat. (just kidding, Keith) Had a great time and i your going that way and want to ish the Smith, Chetco, or the Rogue, give Todd a call. He is good.
City: ReddingTips: summer steelhead still in the river and providing consistent hookups.

Fishing decent but not as good as other years.
City: Rancho CordovaTips: Use drop shot rig, most bass caught around 15-35' o water. trout staying about 0-8' rom the surace

Report: Spent the week on a vacationing on Shasta. Man I love this lake. Only got to spend a ew hours each morning and aternoon ishing and teaching some ishermen taking a irst crack at bass ishing, but did manage to have a great time. Caught 20 to 50 bass a day with about hal being undersized. Did manage quite a ew over 2# and 3 or 4 that were over 3#. On Tuesday morning we had a ew top water blowups, but they were not eating the bait. Jig bite was the ticket. Even the novices were catching them on a 3/8 once jig with a 5" Yamamoto twin tail grub as a trailer. Depths varied rom 10-30 eet with the best numbers comming o steep walls in the aternoon. Points were best in the morning. Lots o ish o the walls across rom Beehive on the Sac arm including some ish I would take in any Shasta tournament. It you eel a hit while retrieving the jig, let it drop to bottom again. This accounted or 2 o the bigest ish that each went approx 3.5#. They would chase it to the bottom and the ight was on. Man I love the way those spots ight on light tackle.
City: BrentwoodTips: The two best color combinations that worked or me were a green jig with a green trailer and a brown/purple jig with a purple trailer. I never tried plain old brown, but one o the other guys was killing them with it, so color may not have been all that important.
